@McChaiWithMilk Maybe.....? haha I don't know. This originally appeared on a Gameboy game released in America as "Final Fantasy Legend" I know that there was a remake for the Gameboy Advanced titled "Sword of Mana" that was also released in America.

As for other versions on other consoles with other names or versions that are released in other countries with alternate titles, I don't know about them. Also, if they recycled the same music for other games, I would be equally unaware of that.

@ReynaldoRiv Yeah, it really is from the game 'Secret of Mana'. There also was a game for the GB named 'Mystic Quest' here in Germany. And the 'Secret of Mana' one seems to be a remake of this. A, okay... I just read an arcticle which says that there was no release of this 3 'Final Fantasy Legend' Games here in Germany or in Europe(?). Its really strange xD

The names Julius, Vandole, the Emperor...all of these are a component of 'The Secret/The Sword of Mana' Series... Okay its a mystery xDDD

I just found out, that that song was also part of a game ( "Final Fantasy Legends") which wasnt released here in Germany.

But there was an other game - Final Fantasy Adventure, which wasnt released like this in Europe, too - but just got the new name 'Mystic Quest'. And Sword of Mana is actually a remake of this one :D

Julius IS Vandol (In English Vandole?) - This fact you tread in Vandoles Tower (i dont know Englisch Name).

"Our last hope is the Child in Cave on Waterfal ...Long life Vandol and oure Child of Hopeness!"

Or on his Airship:

"Some years ago, Dark Lord find a child on a cave on Waterfal - Julius!"

I think is evidence enough: He IS Vandol. (And I think Thanatos (Seiken II) is Vandole).

But: Who is the TRUE Bad-Chara in Mana-World? Vandole or Anise?!

@TrueLadyX First off, Vandole is presumed to be Julius' last name in both versions. However, in Final Fantasy Adventure he was merely the emperor's son, whereas in Sword of Mana he was his reincarnation (and also a member of the Vandole family, so... some kind of bloodline possession?).

However, it's worth noting that the emperor in Secret of Mana was also named Emperor Vandole. I don't think there's an actual plot connection between the two games, though. It was probably just a shout out.

Well ok that's the original version though. In Final Fantasy Adventure there were tablets in Dime Tower hinting at the Vandole Empire's "Last child of hope." Also there was a guy on the airship you could talk to who tells you years ago Dark Lord found a child in a cave near the Mana Falls that was Julius. The Vandole Reincarnation was a twist put on the remake, Sword of Mana. Honestly I wish they would have incorporated him being the son of Vandole but they did quite wonderfully with their story

Incidentally, "Man" isn't the Red Mage guy's name either. It's just that they don't tell you his real name in the instruction manual. That's because his real name is Julius. He probably had some magic helping with the disguise, of course.

I don't remember the term "Mavole" being used in the game, but I guess neither was gorgon, it was assumed.

In my defense, I haven't played FF:A (MQ) in such a long time!

I'm just nitpicking. But actually, the term Mavole wasn't used until the game was remade as Sword of Mana (though I think it was used in at least one game before then). Basically, the villains who had monster transformations were all retconned into being from some sort of demon world called Mavolia. It really cleared up a lot of nonsense that was in the original. But of course, a lot of people complained that changes were made at all... Personally, I preferred Julius as Vandole's reincarnation.

Also, what? Gemma isn't a species, it's a title given to human warriors who fight to protect the Mana Tree.

Medusa isn't the same as the Gorgon from Greek mythology. She's a Mavole, which might explain how she gave birth to a mind flayer. None of the Mavoles seem to have the same form when they transform despite allegedly being the same species, so it may just be that they're born humanoid with a "true form" that's chosen at random.
