But the games from smaller companies (usually indie), not matter what the genre, have never disappointed me.

World of Goo, Uplink, Machinarium, Saira, Lugaru, and a hell of a lot more.

Other than that Í dont play any top class games but I have played small games and I agree..they do that have atmosphere also..those games drag you in, you know how when you watch a movie and you feel connected? as if you were there with the characters..on the journey? These games achieve that..thus they are unique :)

At first it makes you sad that the game is over, but then 0:54 comes with the drums and makes you feel so accomplished and you want to start crying because of the beauty to the music, then the singers come in at 1:56 and then you suddenly become in a trance as if you were in mid air without a care of what happens next, then 2:33 comes in which is creepy but tells you that the game is now over and there is nothing you can do about it.

I agree with you. But there is one thing one must realize before comparing these two fantastic games, and the thing is that WoG had much more less budget, few people were involved. Portal 2 was a huge project, and the result was much more complex, in a good way. So which game is better? Well, if you look at graphics, effort, story, etc. Portal 2 is better, without doubt. But if you look at which "camp" did the best of their available resources, WoG wins, and also that without doubt.
