  • Let's Go Hawks, New Years Eve game!!! Light up Calvin Pickard again and I wanna see Mac Curruth vs. Calvin Pickard goalie fight.

  • I hope Semyon Varlamov and Jean-Sebastien Giguere never leave the Colorado Avalanche for a long time!!! If they do, The Avs are fucked if Pickard gets called up.

  • @kambelzful how is that 0-3 feeling going?

  • watch you guys make the playoffs? you guys think you will make the playoffs becasue the new coach and thats what the hawks did. the only difference between your team and my team is my team was good when we got our new coach. And yes steve konowalchuck was a former hawks and knows how to beat us but knowing how to do something and actually doing it are different

  • @hockeyfan8735 i still can't over you comparing an 8th rd pick to a 1st rd pick. and after that saying the 8th rd pick is better!!!! HILARIOUS. You guys got slaughtered 5-1 today in the pre sea. you guys got nothing without Bartschi.

  • lets face it seattle and portland fans will NEVER agree. Portland fans hate seattle, and seattle fans hate portland its the way things are and they are not ever going to change. so before i leave this debate i will say this happy not making the playoffs and go hawks.

  • @hockeyfan8735 watch us make the playoffs this year

  • she is noit the only one who thinks mac is a better goalie than pickard i do to. who made the playoffs the last two years? MAC! better record? MAC! You seattle fans love pickard so much because he is the only good player on your team.

  • @hockeyfan8735 how does it matter who made the playoffs, if you have good defense then the goalies don't have to make any saves, Pickard never has any defense and still comes out on top a lot. If Mac joined Seattle, the games would be lost by now. We got Steve Konowalchuk, a former wimperhawk who knows how to beat them.

  • Oh and what's with Mitch spooner at the hawks training camp? Seattle not good enough for him? ;)

  • Spooner was a weirdo anyways.

  • Yeah but he still got drafted!!!! And Tim Thomas was drafted in the 7th round and now look at him. Sometimes some of the best players are taken late in the draft.

  • @kambelzful if you knew anything you would no that mac was in net that game because ian curtis had a sholder injury at the end of season. i was there i remember the line up."chocking at the worst moment" really thats why he made it the whl finals? Chocking at the worst moment is like going up by one goal in the last 5 seconds of a game and still losing remember dash for cash? lol

  • @hockeyfan8735 No. Because he let in 3 soft goals in game 5 against Kootenay lol. And Pickard is going to be unstoppable in the nhl, but Carruth will always just be another choking goalie.

  • @hockeyfan8735 7th round. amazing Mac Carruth.

  • @kambelzful At least Mac has proved himself unlike Pickard. The round of the draft is not what matters most its what you do with it that counts.

  • @stephanieroberts1 he is like Luongo. Everybody loves him, until he chokes on the worst possible game.

  • @kambelzful Chocking is when your team is up by 1 with like 2.6 sec's on the clock and you lose because YOUR goalie cant close his legs. Chocking is when you have a chance to make the playoffs by winning 2 more games and you lose 1 becasue because your goalie has a bad night. Chocking is when in theory your a good goalie but cant make your world junior team because of your performance in camp. Chocking is Spokane out playing us but losing because their goalies let in 5 in less then 2 minutes.

  • @kambelzful yeah i agree pickard is better than curtis BUT he is not our goalie anymore its carruth and mac is way better who got in the playoffs. AND NEWS FLASH MAC IS DRAFFED TO THE BLACKHAWKS!!!!!

  • @hockeyfan8735 Curtis was the goalie at that time.... I never said anything about Carruth lol. Carruth reminds me of Luongo to. Choking at the worse time.

  • best part of this video "he is going to playoffs how about your goalie"

  • @hockeyfan8735 Pickard is a better goalie than Curtis. Period. He's also going to the nhl. How about your goalie?

  • are problem was are players didnt want to play and they didnt like eachother. we portland have more class then to blame the coach...and if you want to see dirty players look up kootenay.

  • @hockeyfan8735 how are Kootenay players dirty players? Rob Sumner is a bad coach. period. Everett fans had signs saying "Keep Rob Sumner". Everybody knows he is a bad coach, including our announcer.

  • jack campbell!!!!!!! who is a goalie was taken before pickard. campbell went 11th overall pickard went 49th. and seattle fans need to stop blaming there coach the coach is not the one putting the skates on and shooting the puck. Are goalie didnt go as high as pickard, but we did have 2 players in the top 5 what about you guys? seattle had 0. get your facts straight before you post stupid comments

  • @hockeyfan8735 IT IS THE COACHES FAULT!!!!!!!!!!!! HE IS THE ONE LEADING THESE KIDS THE WRONG WAY! Look at you guys in the past. What was your guys' problem when you guys sucked all those years? Marcel Noebels, Luke Lockhart and Colin Jacobs were all invited to the nhl combine. And for being #10 in the division, that's pretty good to have 3 players invited, you guys only had 4. Burke Gallimore, Brendan Rouse and Travis Toomey played soild for us. So did Dillon, Button and former W-hawk Bobbee.

  • @kambelzful you guys said you would shut us down this past year. what happened to that? I know the answer you guys only had a decent goalie who could not stop us and when he had the chance to beat us he let it slide and it made the hawks U.S conferrence champions and left seattle out of the playoffs....AGAIN.

  • @hockeyfan8735 I never said that we were going to shut Portland out last season. I new coming into the 2010-2011 season we were still going to suck because Rob Sumner was still coach. and to whoever yelled "HE'S GOING TO THE PLAYOFFS HOW ABOUT YOUR GOALIE!?" Pickard was the #1 nhl goalie draft pick in the 2009-2010 season, how about your goalie!?? Again at least the Seattle fans don't go down to the pansy garden and start booing the Wimperhawks.

  • wow these Portland Whimperhawk fans are annoying! At least we don't go up into your pansy garden and start yelling (not singing) yelling our goal song.

  • If PORTLAND sucks so bad why cant seattle beat us? You must be mistaken because PORTLAND went 12 and 0 against seattle. Seattle was up by 1 with 2.6 seconds left in the 3rd period and still LOST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also if PORTLAND sucks soooo bd why did we make the playoffs and seattle didnt?

  • @stephanieroberts1 PORTLAND SUCKS and you know it. we are going to shut you guys out next year. wait for it. and stop writing on the Seattle Thunderbirds facebook wall to. Rattie, Johansen, Boychuk and Ross are punks by the way. And Leipsic is the justin bieber of the WHL.

  • @kambelzful Yea with what goalie? If Pickard is as great as you guys think he is then he wont be coming back next year and your back up cant stop the puck is save his life(when he plays Seattle has already lost the game.) So who is going to get this shut out? And im curious how Leipsic is the Justin Bieber of the Whl? By the way I dont write on Seattles page!(I dont even like them on fb) I can see why ppl dislike Ross but Boychuk, Johansen and Rattie? How do you figure?

  • Comment removed

  • @stephanieroberts1 First off, I recognize your name. You wrote a long time ago a whole bunch. Once you even wrote "plz go hawks!" or something like that. Leipsic dives and is afraid to fight and is really short. That's why is the Bieber of the WHL. Rattie and Johansen draw bad penalties and get away with them. And Boychuk is a bully to smaller players, yet he always stands up for Leispic. As far as Picks goes, he was the #1 NHL goalie pick in 2010.

  • @kambelzful That comment was on a whl post that was a shared link between the whl and seattle. And last time I checked Pickard went 49th overall to the Avs and Windsor's goalie Jack Campbell went 11th overall to Dallas so how was Pickard the first goalie drafted? also Leipsic does fight he's not afraid its not his fault that when he is willing to fight the other player wont. Not like he needs to fight though. Tyler Johnson is more fitting for that title.

  • @stephanieroberts1 Tyler Johnson is a clean player. Leipsic isn't and there is no evidence of a real dropping the gloves fight.

  • @kambelzful Yea thats why he got suspended for Kneeing right. How is he a dirty player?

  • @stephanieroberts1 That hit on Brendan Shinnimin was clean. He had no way of stopping and had to elbow him to help him from stopping himself. I also believe that was his first suspension ever in the league. Leipsic starts stuff he isn't willing to finish. Look up the fight Riley Boychuk vs. Mitch Elliot. Elliot rocked his shit up and he is two years younger, and Leipsic started to get Lund in a headlock and then just cowards away. HE IS AFRAID TO FIGHT!

  • @kambelzful did he get suspended for elbowing? No he got suspended for Kneeing. I watch the video of Boychuk and elliot and thats why Leipsic knocks him to the ground and knocks his helmet off. If you listen to the Seattle play by play guy Leipsic and Lund do fight! The play by play guys quotes " Now Lund and Leipsic banging away at eachother" Last time I checked thats called fighting.

  • @stephanieroberts1 They still had their gloves on and were face-washing each other. Then Lund dropped his gloves and Leipsic never did. I was watching WHL live, and they were showing a different view. Plus Lund and Leipsic never got fighting majors. Boychuk and Leipsic got worked anyways.

  • @kambelzful Yea half the time there is a scrum or fight the league misses thing and never calls everything the right way.

  • @stephanieroberts1 I wish they uploaded the other view. Leipsic gave him one punch that didn't even connect, and then Lund dropped his gloves but Leipsic didn't and Lund threw four punches, two to the face and two to the head, and then picked him up and threw him. He shouldn't have messed with Lund. Look up Chance Lund hit on Ty Rattie. Rattie was being a punk and over-exaggerating a clean check.

  • @kambelzful Its not really a bad penalty if Seattle is dumb enough to take it. Boychuk is physical and will take on anybody. Besides its kinda hard to go agter someone his size when only 5 players for Seattle are the same height or bigger. and thats assuming all five of them play. every player on are team stands up for there other teammates its not just Riley.

  • @stephanieroberts1 cont. I do agree with you on one thing. Salmon does suck, but is a victim of bad training. But if you look in the past, Portland was very rarely above Seattle in the standings, and we are getting a new coach. Shutting down Portland is most likely going to be our first priority next year.

  • PORTLAND SUCKS PORTLAND SUCKS

  • @masonisadog 12-0 for PORTLAND how about seattle?

  • @stephanieroberts1 11-1. almost 12-0 in the 2007-2008 season if you guys didn't get one lucky goal.

  • @kambelzful yes but 11-1 is totally different then 12-0

  • @stephanieroberts1 not by very much lol. There was two circumstances that were lucky for the w-hawks. The first one was in the game where the hawks won 4-3, got one lucky extra goal. And in the 09-10 season, they got a lucky goal at the 1 second mark that probably wouldn't have gone in if it was shot an each wider. It would have been 12-0 and 11-1 but the hawks get more luck I guess. And luck isn't skill.

  • @kambelzful Except for the fact 12-0 is a sweep and 11-1 is not.

  • @stephanieroberts1 lol does it matter that you guys got one extra lucky goal?

  • @kambelzful If it means a win then yes. Goals like Jason Trotts in Portland's 9-1 win last season dont really matter but if the "lucky" goal prevents a sweep eaqual a win then it absolutely matters.

  • @stephanieroberts1 well then it's not fair game if portland gets luck and seattle doesn't lol

  • @kambelzful Because every other game in the Whl is "fair". Now your going to blame the refs? Wow so on New Years when Seattle won 4-3 without taking single penalty was fair right? Or game 2 of the Whl finals was fair? Or games 3 and 4 of the Western Conference were fair? Yea ok. It happens look at your schedule last year. You won games vs. us because our top players were gone for the Nhl, etc. If getting lucky should not be allowed then all of your wins against us last year should not count.

  • @stephanieroberts1 There were penalties for Seattle but they were even strength and there was no PP's for Portland. But that is a situation where we had been planning on playing disciplined hockey for that particular game, so the refs didn't need to call any penalties because there wasn't any needed. I watched that game on WHL live and saw nothing worth calling on Seattle. And we won a game 4-2 against Portland without our top player Noebels. And those players will be gone next year.

  • @kambelzful So tripping Brad Ross on a breakaway isnt worth a pp? Just because the ref dose not call it does not mean its not worth a pp. Seattle did not play disciplined hockey. You were missing 1 player and Portland was missing Johansen, Niederreiter, Barstchi, not to mention a few more. Missing 1 player is nothing compared to missing all the players we were missing. Noebels isnt exactally the same player as Johansen and Niedederreiter are. Not all of our top players will be gone next year.

  • @stephanieroberts1 Noebels is an equally good player as Johansen and Niederreiter. And for a team with a horrible coach and lacking leadership missing our top player was a big thing. Portland already gets away with so much crap, I don't care if they went ten days without a single pp. Niederreiter, Johansen and most likely Bartschi and Morrow will be gone, and it seems you guys can't win games without those few players.

  • @kambelzful Yea so when was Noebels drafted? Once again everything is the coaches fault. SHOCKING!!!! So are 10 game winning streak that was already half way over before Johansen came back(he came back 1st.) didnt happen right? Also Morrow is not going to stick with the pens this year. The Pens like to develope players and they already have a solid d core. Joe may get 9 games but with out major injuries to every other defensmen in their system thats all he gets. He cant go to the Ahl due to age.

  • @stephanieroberts1 Cont. Bartschi wont stick in Calgary this year. Calgary loves him and wont rush him into something he is not ready for. They have an offense with out throwing him in and are not in major need of him. Calgary is not going to burn a year on his contract if he is not ready to thrive in the Nhl. At this point he could survive an Nhl season but not thrive. He is not quite ready yet. He could learn more coming back to Portland. Just like Niederreiter and Johansen did last year.

  • @stephanieroberts1 Noebels was Drafted to the Flyers and signed a three year entry level contract. It's unknown if he will be back our not. Pickard is coming back though!!!

  • @kambelzful Why is Pickard coming back? If he is so amazing shouldnt he stick in the Nhl? When was Noebels drafted? I dont care by who. My point was he is not a 4th overall or 5 overall draft pick.

  • @stephanieroberts1 He is doing what your players seem to be continuously doing on the w-hawks. Coming back to get more experience. Plus, he is signing with the Colorado Avalanche soon, and getting some more experience with the former assistant coach of that team will be good for him. No he isn't a 3rd or 4th overall, but if we had a better coach and a better team.... Look at what happened to you guys. You got a new coach and your team got better. Hmmmmm wonder why.

  • @kambelzful Yea so thats why after only half a season with us Sbisa stuck in the Nhl right. Or how Luke Walker stuck the season after he got drafted. You would think if he was that good he would have already signed a contract with them. Good for him to get overworked once again? Yea thats it. We did not just get a new coach we also got new players and the change didnt happen over night. Just getting a new coach while it would have helped it would not have fixed everything.

  • @stephanieroberts1 I know it took a year but we are already getting new players. We just got Verdino and Machacek. Plus the following players are just getting better every year: Lockhart, Jacobs, Rouse, Alos, Sanvido, Hauf, Theodore, Hickman, Gallimore and Frank. Plus If Noebels comes back we will be great. And Pickard could be like Tim Thomas or Carey Price this year.

  • @kambelzful You just got a new coach. Your team should be better but not amazing next year. There is a difference between being Good and being Great. Being great is winning the Memorial Cup or winning the Whl. Is Portland Good yes but we are still improving. Pickard could be like Price or Thomas but right now he isnt. He is clearly not that amazing since he's not signed or anything. Its not like he was just drafted.

  • @stephanieroberts1 Well, he was a #1 pick for the colorado avalanche. And he did sign with them, but still being a 19 year old is still pretty young for being in the nhl. Especially being a goalie. Now that we have replaced Scumbag Sumner, with an nhl level coach, and have fired all assistant coaches, our team doctor and our equipment manager, this will be a whole new team. Steve Konowalchuk said in an interview "I can't wait to beat the P W-Hawks. And I know how to beat them".

  • @kambelzful Knowing how to beat someone and actually doing it are two different things. Everett said they knew how to beat us before we swept them in the playoffs. You said before he was going to sign soon not that he already signed. Being someones 1st pick dosnt always mean great things example Steffen Soberg was the Caps 1st pick in 2011. 117th overall is he going to be a super star? Most likelly not. Getting all new people is great since you needed it but getting good wont happen overnight

  • @stephanieroberts1 he had signed, but hasn't joined the team officially, and says he expects to be back in juniors this year. Steve Konowalchuk played with Portland so he REALLY knows how to beat them.

  • @kambelzful You said he was signing soon and now your saying he's signed. Make up your mind. Knowing how to beat someone is not the same as doing it. Yea he played for Portland years ago and now we have a new coach and a new system.

  • @stephanieroberts1 he did sign. he signed a three year entry level contract. HOWEVER, he hasn't joined the team yet.

  • @kambelzful what do you mean he hasnt joined the team yet?

  • @stephanieroberts1 most likely isn't playing next season with them.

  • @kambelzful well yea If I were the Av's I wouldnt keep him yet either.

  • @stephanieroberts1 You think Mac Carruth is better than Pickard. Because if you do that is the funniest thing I have ever heard hockey related. That's like comparing Thomas to Luongo.

  • @kambelzful There both Goalies so you can compare them. Who is the Western Conference Champion? Not Pickard. If Pickard is soooo great why cant Seattle win? You cant blame every goal on your defence. Mac plays a different style then Pickard and does not make the same saves but Mac is still a great goalie.

  • @stephanieroberts1 Mac is a good goalie, but not as good as pickard and i don't see how anybody can say that an 8th round pick is better than a 1st round pick.

  • @kambelzful Pickard was NEVER a first round. 49th overall is the SECOND ROUND! And there are only 7 rounds in the Nhl draft. Once again it does not matter when your taken its what you do with your chance that counts. Clearly Mac is just as good. He proved it by winning the Western Conference. Not every win is the Johansen/Niederreiter show.

  • @stephanieroberts1 yes every win is the johansen/niederreiter show. Literally if they were gone they would the most mediocre team ever. And pickard was still the top rated north american goalie and carruth was not anywhere on the list of goalies.

  • @kambelzful So when the Hawks won 10-5 how is it the Niederreiter/Johansen show if they together only get 1 goal? Or a 2-0 win against Everett where the goals are from Burns and Bartschi? Or 4-3 and 7-2 wins against Vancouver BEFORE they came back? Or when the Hawks beat everett 4-2 and Oliver Gabriel has 2 goals plus an assist on the empty netter? Or playoff wins where the bulk of our goals come from the 2nd line? Or a 2 game sweep in Spokane when neither one gets on the board at all?

  • @stephanieroberts1 it seems like the hawks never win unless Johansen or Niederreiter have at least one point.

  • @kambelzful So the 2 game sweep in spokane didnt happen or a 2-0 win vs everett didnt happen either or 4-3 and the 7-2 wins against Vancouver didnt happen right? Or playoff wins against Everett, Kelowna, Spokane when neither one got a point didnt happen right it was all a dream. Or the year before when we beat Seattle 4-3 both had no points. Or the many other games that year we won with out them scoring didnt happen. Just because it seems one way does not mean thats the way it is.

  • @stephanieroberts1 well I didn't watch any other hawk games besides the ones with Seattle. And I didn't even want to bother to look up the few games that Johansen or Nino didn't get a point. And I'm talking about this season not any other seasons. And they USUALLY get at least one point, not always a goal, but a play making point.

  • @kambelzful Yes they get points a lot but they dont always get points. Its more then just a few games. Btw of course Niederreiter and Johansen got points against Seattle witch Portland player dosnt? So next year if they both are gone Portland is going to go 0-72 right? So is it Niederreiter/Johansen or Bartschi? You commented to others its all Bartschi but tell me its all a Nieherreiter/Johansen show.

  • @stephanieroberts1 Bartschi could pull off a few wins for Portland. But without Nino and Ryan, the team would be not so good.

  • @kambelzful So by your theory we will go what 5-65 with out Nino/Ryan? Last time I checked we still had goaltening, defence and a strong offence returning. Will we win so many game's most likelly not. But we wont be a toilet team. You seem to think all are points come from 3 players yet Ross had 31 goals. Rattie was 4th in point ahead of Niederreiter. We had 6 players average at least 1 point per game. Joe Morrow had the most points by any Hawks D-men in 10 years. Even are goalies got points.

  • @kambelzful So what happened to having a great new coach that knew how to beat us?

  • @stephanieroberts1 Well, let's see. Pickard failed to make two easy soft shot saves in the 3rd period, and the refs were absolute retards.

  • @kambelzful Ohh so now its the refs fault. Its the Whl you cant expect great calls. How is it there fault? If your goalie is so great why did he let in 2 easy goals?

  • @stephanieroberts1 Because he had an off night. The refs need glasses, especially that Smith guy.

  • @kambelzful Witch Ref are you talking about? So is it Pickard's fault or the Refs?

  • @stephanieroberts1 I'm talking about the ref Smith. It's partially both of their faults.

  • @kambelzful Both refs had the last name Smith if you read the game summary.

  • @stephanieroberts1 then I don't know which one. probably both of them although i noticed the same one making bad calls. and portland was being punks. Pushing a t-bird into their bench and then have five players beating on the player in the bench. But then when they actually fight they always get beat up. And I was laughing at Pouliot trying to go after Lund. Once Pouliot pushed Lund he skated away.

  • @kambelzful It wasnt 5 players 1 at most. Pouliot is not that much of a fighter and who had the 4 point night plus the 1st star? Thats right Pouliot! Lund has played in this league 4 seasons and Pouliot is starting his 2nd. Portland players can fight:

  • @stephanieroberts1 Right, but don't start stuff that you aren't willing to finish. Don't push a player 4 inches taller and 40lbs heavier and then skate away. Pure signs of a punk.

  • @kambelzful He is willing to finish when needed but its not that necessary in a 6-3 game. What is the point to risk injury when fighting proves nothing its not like it changed the game. You want to talk about "punks" then talk about Jacob Doty.

  • @stephanieroberts1 Well, let's see. Pickard failed to make two easy soft shot saves in the 3rd period, and the refs were absolute retards.

  • @kambelzful If everything is Niederreite/Johansen or the Bartschi show then how did Portland go 2-0 to start the season without any of them?

  • @stephanieroberts1 What do you mean how did they? You saw them...

  • @kambelzful No im asking you because you told me it was all the Niederreiter/Johansen show and you told somebody else it was all Bartschi. You said we could not win with out them so im asking you how we did since you seem to know it all.
