Yea this is the first year I'm actually doing it as well. And really 6 days is nothing, you if you write for an hour and a half or two hours a day, you'll make up the time asap.

Do you count it yourself and then just enter the number in or is there a place on the site...and no I don't have a job that requires me to work heavy machinery.

Yea basically the website just gives you a place to enter your current word count (on the honor system).

So yea, hopefully you're using a word processor that has a "word count" in the tools menu or shows it on the info bar.

I update it at least once a day (cause so far I've been able to write at least once a day)

Wow...without even knowing about this National Novel Writing Month thing. I started writing a little something in weekly installments that I post to myspace blog. A friend of mine had the idea and started last month, and so I'm doing the same. I don't know if I have 6000 words though, I could check. I'm off of work with spare time, I think I'll just do that.
