according to Lada's plans on their site, they're going to release new 4x4 models within 2014-2017. btw in Russia the most expensive version of Niva (Euro-IV, 5 doors) costs 11300$. and ppl here do not buy it to drive in the city.

If you're looking for a really, really, really, REALLY cheap car that is incredible offroad, there's almost no way to avoid the Lada. A used Suzuki Jimny is just as much as a piece of crap as this thing is, but it'll also have a shitload of miles on it, whereas a new Lada Niva will obviously have 0 miles on it. Not that that makes it any better lol...
