  • Looks a lot like the one they built in '72.

  • it better not be windy out

  • I can immediately see a design flaw in this concept car without having to do any test driving. Gee wizz people you are supposed to be the smart engineer types. What will be the maximum speed of this vehicle?? 35-40 mph? Faster? It will flip over in a mild gust of side wind and go flying like a racing boat that catches air on a wave..... pooo anyone could catch that fact. Oh ok this is a very old video so who cares I'm sure they have already wrecked it.

  • @IronHorsez88 They achieved 2nd place 2 years later with just about the same design. For being as smart as you, the eningeers seemed to be smarter than you...

  • this is a cool video

  • they aren't designed to be practical urban vehicles, hobatu.

  • Can a air compressor-tanks be put air manual like the wheel of the vihicle has pump system at the front wheel so it will pump in air and when a person are tired it can simply use the air-compressor?

  • solar cars are the future =)

  • These cars are cool, but they can't carry more then 1 person. Even adding a gallon of Milk's weight will make the car alot more ineffective.

We need to find a way to allow our solar panels to harness a higher % of the energy that hits it, before solar panels on cars will be worthwhile.

  • @PosVibeMerc They found it, the technology is the same as the antenna on your tv. They simply made nano sized antennas that can receive infrared light... as much as 80% efficiency (versus crystaline silica's 10-20%). The problem remains on how to get the energy out of the antenna, since at that scale it is an extremely high frequency. I think it's impressive that they are driving these cars battery free purely on the sun's energy.

  • well now solar cars are being made =)

  • the real answer is AN E85 HYBRID!!! think of how clean that would be??? using less would dramatically help lots of problems with problems related to producing ethanol
