While it isn't as powerful as Photoshop, Picnik does allow you to do some basic stuff...I use it on computers that I don't have Photoshop installed and it has proven to be useful...

Exactly, except the majority of people judge at the fancy interface and unknown tools, therefore become uncertain and give up. I believe Photoshop is the best photo editing software for me. As a pretty young age (11) i became familiar with it and gradually learned, So it isn't rocket science but it takes time and patience if you want to know how to use Photoshop. I can see Picnik can be useful for an average person that is unfamiliar with software as good as Photoshop.

That was my first time printing a picture. I guess it's not easy for everyone, though.
