The Lions have a Chicago Cub-like quality about them...you really want them to win, but you're so used to them losing, it's just part of the territory. Now, an 0-16 record is an EPIC FAIL, but still, how many of you were rooting for a perfect winless season when it got to 0-14? Hey, if you've gotta be known for something...

Hey, the Lions were extremely smart (for a change) to draft that Nebraska player Suh. Although it may not be as true in recent years as 20+ years ago, I still think great teams must have solid line play and good or great defenses. I am not an NFL expert, but Suh has been raved about as one of the best college defensive players ever. Any team that can put consistent pressure on the other team's QB has an excellent chance of winning, and I don't care who the QB involved is.
@the99stingrays best so far is calvin Johnson. 6'5 WR and makes insane catches and saves his QB on a weekly basis. best draft pick by far, just get a Defense, and hope that Stafford can get him the ball more.
The Browns own any team in the AFC, and probably the NFC, if not, Dallas is also right up there. Lions are OK, but I can't stand New Orleans/Jacksonville...
As a Bengals fan, I really love the Lions, because they remind me things could always be worse.
Sure we havn't won a playoff game since 1991, and have only two winning seasons in the last 19 years, At least we've never been 0-16 and we've made it to a couple of Super Bowls.

I feel bad for Jim Schwartz. I mean the Lions have no clue how to draft talent. Worst defense in NFL history last year and 3 out of the first 4 picks this year were offensive players. The Pettigrew pick was stupid when we could of got Michael Oher who is arguably the best player in the draft class and I loved the Delmas pick and Levy picks. I'm not sold on Stafford just yet but like his heart and mentality.
All of it caused by Matt Millen. What the hell is his problem drafting wide receivers. The first was a freaking weed head, the second a one hit wonder, and the third an immature fatass. I'll give Millen respect for actually drafting a defensive player in the first round who is the next Derrick Brooks and the next Jason Witten. And probably, Detroits real future quarterback. They shoud use all their draft picks this year on defensive players.

Actually I've seen the real version of this many times. Steiner didn't attack, but that pales with the failures of the Lions to do the job! Fortunately, none of the Lions had a team member named Fegelein. He tried to desert Detroit, the team S/S picked him up, drunk as hell. He was sent out on the short bus. He got off, then... well the record speaks for itself. The Schmeisser had its way with him. (Anyone here get this)?

Hey, the Lions were extremely smart (for a change) to draft that Nebraska player Suh. Although it may not be as true in recent years as 20+ years ago, I still think great teams must have solid line play and good or great defenses. I am not an NFL expert, but Suh has been raved about as one of the best college defensive players ever. Any team that can put consistent pressure on the other team's QB has an excellent chance of winning, and I don't care who the QB involved is.

As a Bengals fan, I really love the Lions, because they remind me things could always be worse.
Sure we havn't won a playoff game since 1991, and have only two winning seasons in the last 19 years, At least we've never been 0-16 and we've made it to a couple of Super Bowls.

I feel bad for Jim Schwartz. I mean the Lions have no clue how to draft talent. Worst defense in NFL history last year and 3 out of the first 4 picks this year were offensive players. The Pettigrew pick was stupid when we could of got Michael Oher who is arguably the best player in the draft class and I loved the Delmas pick and Levy picks. I'm not sold on Stafford just yet but like his heart and mentality.

All of it caused by Matt Millen. What the hell is his problem drafting wide receivers. The first was a freaking weed head, the second a one hit wonder, and the third an immature fatass. I'll give Millen respect for actually drafting a defensive player in the first round who is the next Derrick Brooks and the next Jason Witten. And probably, Detroits real future quarterback. They shoud use all their draft picks this year on defensive players.
