I realise this is an old video, but, do you still use this hammock? I have a similar one, with no double bottom, so wondering how you find this when hiking in cold weather?
Very nice setup! Cannot beat Hammock camping! Saves the back and body from the stress the ground can deliver to it after a few weeks on the trail. Good video.
i would definatly use a tarp in winter, as you will see in my winter videos i will do in the winter months. good tip though dont put it close to the fire in the leanto type configuration it melts with the tinyest spark use a stronger tarp like the one that dave canterbury uses as part of his versa shelter on wilderness outfitters.
ahh thanks for the tip.. im fairly new to the whole wild camping thing but my friends used to be in the scouts and they know a good bit about it im ust trying to keep up on the knoledge :)
Thanks for describing your gear and where u got it from, been looking for a mosquito net for weeks for my hammock! Thanks Mike

What setup would you use for winter camping? Is the tarp still a good option?

hello mate,
i think they can be for some?
you have to find a taughtness thats good for you. i dont like mine to tight, i have it what i call "half loose" but i fully recommend this system
