Heh I like the stress test and then they put the biggest and meanest station in the game up and the FPS rate drops down instantly... And nice location for your icon on the screen :P took you long enough to get the camera up from there :D

The X3 refers to the game mate, not the card. It's X3 Terran Conflict running on a single 4850.

I am pretty sure you can get two second hand 5850s for that kind of money. Don't go for more than two cards anyway. The scaling is quite bad after that, especially for 4000 series cards.

Speaking about noobness, i wonder why starcraft plays fine on my 4870X2. It wasn't really difficult to install the latest patch and use the fucking compatibility options and use XP SP2 and 256 colors, now was it?

Doesn't X3 have like Crysis where you can output it frame by frame? So it isn't dependent on performance for recording?

I thought the video quality was enough to show the performance of the card. My philosophy is that the performance must be shown. Now in most cases everyone can download the demo and see the quality by himself. What matters to me is the fraps counter on the corner. As for the video quality, i try my best.

Whatever output method can be used, it will consume system resources and i don't want that. So the solution is the camera. I can zoom at specific points too!

Just ran the rolling demo myself at 1024x768 with 4x AA and 16x AF and was surprised that I got a fairly high average FPS(67) despite this comp being over 2 years old.

They sure have optimized the engine a lot since X3 The Reunion 1.0 heh, nice to see devs whom actually want to make their games playable on lower-end systems too, but with pretty graphics none the less.

It's a bit on the heavy side for the 4850, but still it give an adequate average. I will run in on my 4870X2 tomorrow to see how it runs there.
