What the rabbi is doing @ min. 7:25 in the video is checking to see that the knife is very sharp. It must be so, so that it cuts into the neck very well without any delay and unnecessary pain for the animal. There is hardly a second on the clock from when the knife enters the skin until the animal is dead. Much less than other methods for killing an animal which include shooting pellets into the brain and electric shocks; both of which give the animal excruciating pain until it dies!!! Shal-m!!!

The laws for schechting animals were not created for big animals, only small ones: sheep and goats. Eating red meat is very unhealthy anyway. I stopped buying Rubashkin and will never eat it again. I will only eat locally grown, organic, and locally shechted meat. Let's take responsibility for eating meat!

Plenty of calories, Protein, minerals and vitamins and fat, all the things Human Beings or any carnivore or borderline carnivore needs for survival. If you understand the human digestive system you will also understand that you should rotate your foods so the body can break it down better, overload of the brain on the same amino acid code is BAD.

Well - if you read the book "Postville" by Stephen G. Bloom, your respect for the people at the factory will be neglible...

I am jewish and would happily boycot the products of the plant. However I do not keep kosher.
