  • i'm okay with this

  • Absolutely wonderful. You made me shoot milk out of my nose when you said that thing about 17 year olds who post them selves being drunk on line as mildly retarted.

  • Just to clarify the milk became nose projectile from laughter

  • A HELIOCENTRIST???? Oh no, this won't do..

  • How dare u Santa is Real he is I I...he is

  • I think a lot of it is, poeple like me, are often afraid of coming out as gay, or transexual. I think a lot of the shame will go away when transexuals are tolerated more.:3

I like at saying "Guy, I got something to tell you, I'm caucasian." is pretty much like not trusting me to see that their caucasian. Its quite easy to see someone is caucasian.:3

  • It disgusts me too Rayning. Every God damned day!

    By the way, you're pretty.

  • @civwarfan Good to find someone of like mind.

    And thanks!

  • @RayningAtheists You are quite welcome.

  • just a little correction: "heliocentric" means you believe the sun is the center of the UNIVERSE, not just the solar system. however, it is still nice to know that you don't believe the earth is the the center of the universe, and you recognise the the earth revolves around the sun. I'm not saying you belive the sun is the center of the universe. I'm just saying, check your wording.

  • @kclantern1984 Thanks for the distinction, but the point remains the same.

  • I dont beleive in santa either. but just because your 17 and like to drink and aren't afraid to admit to it doesnt make them mildly retarded. it means they arent afraid of what others think of them. which is good.

  • @CJbass420 I'm not saying it's wrong or stupid to drink at 17, I'm just saying people who advertise it online usually do so because they are insecure.

  • @RayningAtheists some of them yeah. they want everyone to know they drink, so they can "look cool" and i hate that. smoking weed or drinking doesnt make you cool, or not cool. we all just have the right to our bodies, more then anyone else does.

  • @RayningAtheists Precisely

  • I'm not ashamed to come out as a atheist, I'm just afraid of how my parents would feel. I don't want the people I love to feel real emotional pain worrying about my imaginary eternal soul.

  • The worse thing about atheists. is how boring they are. Not to mention homely looking.

  • i misread, the pic looked like u were coming out of the regular closet > <

  • Wow... you make really interesting points. Even tough I am christian-catholic, I still don't like it if people are completely fanatic. I love believing in God, I wish everybody could, but I am not going to force it down their throat.

  • @gaft24 Thank you very much, really. If more people were as open-minded and willing to accept others' beliefs, we'd all get along much better.

  • Sidebar? bahahah there is no sidebar, it's an under bar

That means atheist are wrong bwahaha

  • To correct you , everyone isn't born atheist . Being an atheist means you do not believe in God. How can you be against something you know nothing about. And for evidence as you wanted that God does indeed exists. I can give you a this guy's channel. He shows you evidence. Inbox me if you want it, i'm not gonna do it here if you don't really care lol. BTW, For everyone else. Don't bash me for believing in God. kthanks<3

  • @EmmaEmazing And to correct YOU, my dear, atheists aren't AGAINST god. We simply think he is a fabrication of the human imagination. No one believes anything until they are introduced to the concept of it. This includes god. I'd love to see this "proof," and if you don't want to post it here where other curious atheists can watch it, feel free to personal message it to me.

  • @EmmaEmazing : Oh, don't worry. We won't bash you for believing in "God." We will bash you for being a backwards-ass moron who can't even understand the concept of belief and disbelief. Contrary to your misguided and intellectually-lacking upbringing, in reality, belief is active while disbelief is passive. Take about an hour with a dictionary and think about the implications of those words before you come back. I look forward to your inevitably confounding response.

  • @DietBroccoli You can say whatever you want. Paragraphs and paragraphs. But, no matter what you say you cannot change my ways.Honestly, I didn't even bother reading what you said because I know you're just like any other atheist calling me a moron and me believing in something that's not there;yeah yeah.I don't care what you have to say it will not affect my life so let's save time on both of our lives and not even continue this pointless argument. God Bless <3

  • @EmmaEmazing : Yes, it's clear you didn't read what I said. I didn't say anything about what you believe in. Second sentence in what I wrote was "We won't bash you for believing in 'God.' "

You must really enjoy making yourself look foolish.

  • @DietBroccoli LMFAO.Like I said I DID NOT EVEN READ OR GLANCE onto what you said.& I actually read what you wrote now and I was right. It's a waste of your time to insult me.Like what do you get from it?It does not make your point any clearer it actually makes it look like you were at a loss for words that you had to insult my beliefs.I hope my "inevitably confounding response" entertained you. When you decide to have a respectful conversation with me about this write back.If not don't waste time.

  • @EmmaEmazing : Alright. No sarcasm or insults. Where did I insult your beliefs? I would like to see where you got that idea.

I was pointing out what seems to be a lack of comprehension on your part about the difference between belief and disbelief.

  • I'm having exactly the same problem as you, I don't even talk to it about my family because I know I'll be rejected. They are blind by religion.

  • Santa slaves away 365 days a year for you. How DARE you turn your back on him!

I'm going to send you some literature regarding our furry red saviour. You need to be saved.

  • well put, very well worded, i wish more people were like you

  • @gordonisnext Thank you kindly!

  • It's not shameful, it's just scary. Christians can be very VERY scary. I got used to get lectured (more like yelled at) for hours for dropping maths and not wanting to go to uni.

  • I just spent 2.99 for an egg n' cheese bagel, hash browns, and a orange juice slush. I am very full.

  • @freethinker923 My congratulations on $3 efficiently spent!

  • @RayningAtheists Many thanks. I was really trashed that night...I don't even remember watching this video so I'm watching it again...lol

  • @freethinker923 Hahaha I guessed. Enjoy it this time around!

  • we need to fight, and use every opportunity to speak about Atheism, im doing it, to my family, friends even at work, and some how its working, of course you get a lot of hatred by those who have being brainwashed, but so what? basta ya! de la opresion religiosa. air revoir.

  • Fuck that! I don't give a good goddamn what anybody (in public) thinks. I proudly proclaim my atheism (almost) everywhere I go. I love to watch people who don't even know what they purport to believing in get flustered as I overwhelm them with questions. It usually eventually leads to my becoming flustered at their total disregard for logic. I am only rude, though, when I am dealing with an obvious lost cause, or if I am treated rudely first.

    cont'd below.

  • And remember....most atheists are in hiding...I would bet there are more out there than we think there are. In my experience it seems that once somebody is outspoken about their atheism (usually me, hehe:)), it helps other atheists to speak out without the fear of being ostracized.

But I still have a problem. I just CANNOT bring myself to come completely clean to my parents about it. Not only would they pester the shit out of me, It would really, really hurt them. and that fucking sucks!!

  • It actually just makes me hate religion and christianity all the more.

My parents are HARDCORE born-again fundies....literal bible, the whole 9.

They know I struggle with belief and doubt. They do not know that I am a full-blown atheist.

Its at the point that if they say anything about 'the lord' or church, or the bible, I quickly change the subject, but they still think I will come 'back to god'

my mom actually said that if the rapture happens, she thinks I will still go!! (denial much?!)

  • It's good to see an atheist proud of his stance, and remaining civil about it. As for your parents, I'm sorry, I know what it feels like to be in that situation. For quite a few years, my parents thought I was just struggling with "god". They kept telling me, "You know, 'Israel' means 'struggles with God'", but when I finally told them I was a firm atheist, my mother refused to speak to me for a while. They've come to terms with it, though, and I can only hope your parents will too.

  • @frankgrimesAKAgrimey Thats the beauty of the OSAS doctrine. Once saved always saved!!! ;D

  • @frankgrimesAKAgrimey There's not just atheists in hiding, but also atheists who are atheists down deep who either don't know it yet or haven't thought of it, and are just waiting to be persuaded be by a string of logical arguments.

  • I know exactly what you mean, one time I said that one of my favorite books had been banned in some places because it was very atheist, and my reading teacher started going on about the importance of God in our society! And this was in a public school!

  • ohhh your hair is blonde lol.

the camera/lighting makes it look reddish/orangish.

  • Well, I HAVE dyed it red recently, but in this video, it's in its natural blonde state haha

  • this is what would happen in my family. sigh

    /watch?v=P8Aq00yJSxo

  • im in love <3

  • Hahaha, I'm flattered!

  • Mhm actually 12% of USA and 44% of UK is the same or similar amount of people in each population that is Athiest. Perhaps that is a generic percentage per 100,000 or something...and then because the US has a higher popluation like 310,000,000....UK has only 62,000,000...

  • I'm not sure whether you're trying to prove or disprove my point, but you proved it very well.

  • No i wasnt trying to disprove you. I was trying to support you. I had an idea to work out the actual percentages for each country so for USA its roughly 37,200,000 athiest. For the UK is roughly 27,280,000. Just wanted to work out that USA has more than UK but based on population percentage its like as if 44% of us are...but really you have more...dont know what i was trying to do..prove or disprove. xD neither...just highlighting some info. un-needed info really. xD

  • Hahahaha

  • I'm going to come out and say that those are exactly my thoughts as well.

Too much drama in the world already, people are what they are, period.

Life is simple, people make it complicated.

  • i think that being gay and atheist has just alot of people scared cause its "against the norm" I honestly dont care if people are gay or atheist, whatever you want to believe in or dont believe in is all fine, like seriously. As you said it should not be anything to be ashamed of at all and i also think its fuckin rediculous people get kicked out of there house and such for admitting to those things, like seriously, ok, ur atheist or gay or whatever, who cares about that. As long as ur happy!

  • I pretty much completely agree.

  • Sam Harris said that atheism is merely the noises rational people make in response to irrationality. (Paraphrased)

  • lol i believe religion is changing for the better. it would take some time but i believe its changing.

  • Chenging? Yes, almost everything changes. For the better? Not necessarily.

  • The "green eyes" analogy, it's great but I don't think it's that simple in our (american) society. It's like comparing a babyfucker to a pothead, which is somewhat happening, shame shame on us, it angers me.

I was a christian (for a bit over ten years), when I came out of that god damn closet my ma didn't really care. It wasn't an anticipated conversation, it just happened. I wasn't apprehensive or hesitant about it, I just said it. She still has faith but we respect each others beliefs.(1/2)

  • I just wish she would have gotten a proper education.

p.s. I'm not gay, I just don't think it's as simple as saying, "my eyes are green", for the time being.

  • I completely disagree. Neither gays nor people with green eyes are dangerous to others, whereas "babyfuckers" are (potheads, however, tend to be harmless). Sexuality also has a proven link to genetics, though in some, I agree, it may be affected by their experiences and upbringing, and in that way only is it unlike eye color.

  • You misinterpreted my comment. I wasn't implying that gays or 'green eyes' are a hazard (and I don't see that I hinted that idea):

"I just don't think it's as simple as saying, 'my eyes are green', for the time being." Note I said *for the time being.* We are an ignorant hypo-christian nation. Disappointing.

I totally AGREE with you, therefore it's impossible for you to completely disagree with me. :] You just misinterpreted my analogy to yours.

  • No, no, no, I wasn't comparing coming out to admitting to have green eyes, I was saying the two SHOULD be the same. They are both genetic traits, and nothing is wrong with either of them, so its ridiculous that people treat coming out so horribly.

  • Oh, well.. I don't believe in Santa.

  • And as for informing your mother, I'm glad it went well for you. When my mother realized I was actually an atheist, not just going through a phase, she refused to talk to me for a few days until my father convinced her to talk to me.

  • I feel and share your frustrations with this! xD

  • Good to hear!

  • Why?

Because morons breed faster and more often than intelligent people.

  • Hmm have you seen the movie Idiocracy?

  • Yes I did, it was very a-tarded and the characters talked all faggy.

  • Mmm, my first wife was tarded. She's a pilot now.

  • I agree it should be a nonissue. Societal norms have to be taken into consideration however. Have you ever lived in the South? Being an outed atheist can literally get you killed! When I was in junior high in texas I got my share of death threats from fellow students : /

  • Exactly, that's what angers me so much! Why, in such an advanced society, do thing like that still happen?

  • Is that your computer fan?

  • The irritating background noise? Probably.

  • It's creepy when people push their expectations so hard that they're more fond of that image than they are of the actual person.

I think both philosophical belief and the many aspects of sexuality are learned at very, very deep levels with the foundations set at an early age (more fluid than if they were inherited, but impossible to deliberately alter in any non-destructive way), but many societies rely on "roles," which make other people less complicated to think about and easier to "predict."

  • I definitely think some aspects of sexuality are learned, but I think the basic hormonal reaction to a certain gender is very much genetic. Philosophy, on the other hand, as you said, is definitely learned.

  • It might be better phrased as it being a mix of both, with heredity forming an initial bias which can be overcome or not - especially as since gender presentation itself is a social construct. :)

But an increased tendency to anthropomorphize might also be genetic, depending on how growth of differing parts of the brain are "weighted" genetically. It's complicated. I think the important part is that messing around with someone's emotions because of social standards is dangerous territory. :D

  • I think too much for 400 character comment limits. ._. Anyhow, the identity is such a complex self-regulating system that poking around at it attempting to change what someone else IS is sketchy. Though people most certainly do change in the course of their life, it's a complete, organic growth, not an "I think I'll just replace this one bit here." It's all interwoven, and attempting to mess with "just one part" is doing a violence to the person.

  • I actually definitely agree.

  • Thank you for letting me ramble, and again thank you for your very powerful expression of, for lack of a better way of putting it, wholly justified and humane righteous outrage. ^.^

  • Haha it was my please, I love letting people with good ideas ramble. And thank you, I'm honored!

  • *pleasure

    XD

  • It is not that being logical thinking is wrong, It iis that a majority of the rest of the world, can comprehend this style of living. And it is this same majority that classifies everyone else as being different and odd with society.

  • And this majority sees deluding themselves as the best way to live?
