You collect both the 1/10 golds and these beauties. I have recently found a 1984(silver proof) raw coin at a little shop. It's out of the mylar and has been slightly handled. But it was a rare find. I thinking of still getting it graded. I've been buying pandas since 2004. They are wonderful coins.
I was looking to buy a chinese silver coin but then i wondered, does it support the chinese at all for me to buy them? i dont want to help them out at all
Enjoyed the video with one exception; having to look at your dirty fingernails...gross dude, c'mon! Make more videos but please clean your nails or wear white cotton gloves. Thanks
"Australian and Chinese Silver is more expensive than American Silver"... Its not the silver itself that has a different value.... its the mintage numbers. China and the Perth mint only make small (relative to the US) mintages so the rarity it high. The US mints hundreds of thousands (sometimes millions) of coins so rarity is low. That said, the US mint also has ultra low mintage coins. ie: the Platinum Eagle Proof coins.
I own some Pandas, but I suspect they might be fake because they do not weigh 31.1 troy grams. What are some of the tests you can use to determine fakes from real?
Im jealous. I just started collecting myself. I got the 06,07,08, and 09. There is a 30 year anniversery coin apmex has that i got to. I got a 2004 pcgs ms69. the one with the pandas kissing. Hopefully it will go up =o) nice collection.
From the video, I can see that you have at least a few raw coins in capsules. Where do you buy those? I'm considering buying some pandas, but I've had trouble with silver bullion coins in the past (as in, they often come with milk spots, scratches, etc.)
Do you collect the canadian proof silver coins? there are quite a bit that has the hologram effect to it. and their mintage is about 10000-25000 a year range from about 60$-100$ each piece

Did I hear you say you made that PCGS graded coin yourself from a raw piece? Interesting.

Do you collect any of the modern ones, as in after that stunt with the colored pandas? I know the ones from 2003 on definitely aren't colored.

There are no proof pandas after the 1999 colorized one. They are all BU strikes. I have all the regular "non proof" BU silver pandas from 1989-2009.

I know you like the Pandas...what about the silver britannias from the UK?
UNC mintages are no more than 10,000.
Proof mintages never go above 2000.
I myself collect a UNC panda each year.
