If you don't beat Vegnagun when he's released his big fuckin gun on time, that's what happens. You probably didn't notice you were on a time limit bcause the game gives you all day to beat him.

You can get this ending when you fight Vegnagun last part when the cannon is charging up. If you let don't defeat it in time (seems kinda unlikely, as you can Darkness the ass off it in no time at all)
