I just got through watching "Gunsmoke The Last Apache". I've seen most of the color episodes & all the tv movies. James Arness is a great actor. I would watch him even now as Matt Dillion. He still has the booming voice even in his 80's

It was so good to see him say he had to cut the interview short so he could watch the show. I too at 65 dont want to miss them. I even set my dvr to record all the episodes in case I have to miss one. I think I saw all of the original shows which had chester in them, but then I kinda fell away when he left but now I watch all those that I missed.

What a legacy he is leaving us with the portrayal of a good man who stood his ground for what was right. Sadly we need to visit the past for this type of character these days. Thank God for Encore Westerns running this show for a new generation of fans.

those show were made with very little money in today standards Today these actors make a milllion dollars a week and the shows aren't that good
