  • Actually I think the backing singers are weak here,,,Tina Turner was MUCH better.

  • What, no love for Mark Knopfler playing the second guitar here??!? I mean, it's MARK KNOPFLER a couple of years after "Borthers In Arms". HELLO??!? Plus, the percussion player--Sheila E. Saying this band was LOADED is like saying Michael Jordan could JUMP.

  • Tessa is an awesome singer- see clapton tokyo 1988, and the few youtube videos of her

  • grande eric, sempre grande

  • I think I need a bit more cowbell, please!

  • @Samueltrad That is so funny,I just saw the best Of Will Farell from Saturday Night LIve the other day!!

  • Clapton is amazing - and Tessa Niles and Katie Kissoon are fabulous singers - but Shoreline Amphitheater is not in San Francisco - it's in Mountain View, south of San Francisco and North of San Jose

  • slow hand at his best with such class as usual

  • beautiful girls on backing vocals

  • who's the girl on percussion?

  • Jodie Linscott.

  • @strawer thanks, strawer.

  • Clapton's phenomenal!

    Katie Kissoon is beautiful!

  • strawer- have a listen to Tessa in Claptons"tearing us apart" live at Tokyo 1988. She does a solo section at about 2.09 to 2.25 that will amaze you

  • Thank you very much for the info.

Effectively the band line-up has been changed for the Japanese shows as Katie Kissoon has been replaced by Tracy Ackerman.

  • Amazing. There's no one like Eric Clapton. He is the all-time greatest guitarist (IMO).

  • Nathan's slap playing technique rocks.

Katie's vocals are excellent, not to say MUCH BETTER in comparison to those of the legendary rock grandmother Tina Tuner!

Of course, the three other hot chicks - Tessa, Tracy and Sheryl - are also amazing.

  • @Slapshot59 oh yes...you are so correct.

  • teh percussionist has not been credited.

  • Oh, you're joking.

Jodie Linscott figures among the musicians backing Slowhand during the "After Midnight" tour on September 21st, 1988.

Clapton was in full form, apparently. But this short hairstyle did not last very long; the following three years were pivotal for Eric's hair styling and appeal: very long hair and a tight beard. His fans had to wait until late 1991/early 92 to see the return to a more mainstream look.
