    Times have changed...

Today we are fighting with nuclear bombs etc.

And today almost every country has a nuclear bomb.

  • @Tolisakis97 Yes, but you're wrong. Russia isn't stronger than USA. USA is still the most powerful country in the world. Russia lost its power. Yes, nuclear bombs threats our world. I hope there won't be a war. Because nobody will win if it happens. They will just leave permanent damages in the world. Btw, we don't afraid of nor Russia or other countries. And we aren't racialist as much as Greeks

  • @cagatayhelvaci Well,yes you´ve got a point here..

Many Greeks are racists, but the most are not.

Actually its in our nature to be racistic(the ancient greeks were also racists).

    As about Russia and America.

Well, with countires like these, which are so powerfull, you can never be sure you will win.

Both countries are very strong, but the strategie is this what matters.

One wrong step and they you have lost.

Yes,I have the same opinion with you.

This war will be our everybodys end..

  • @cgc989

We have turkish anchestors that is true but we have native anatolian anchestors too. All these building belong to us because our grandfathers built it not yours. Yours have been living in greek thousands of years. We just call ourselves Turk because we love turks and turkish language and this is not your bussiness. Our DNA matches with native anatolian's DNA. stop hating that much you dont know anything about our history.

  • @zzeynepp18 Technically, we are all brothers and sisters. All of our bloodlines started with Adam & Eve.

  • @cgc989 and when I was you, I will cry all my life. We see whats happen with you guys in greece. Whats abt crisis in u´re country? You are a disgrace for Europe. Thats what it is Dude. Greeks and Turks was lived tousend of years together. What is the Problem now? When you believe that we cant live together, than we cant do it. Turks wants to talk with Greeks, they will work with you guys together, but u guys have a big problem with the turks. Thats why it cant work.

  • This video is idiotic. Abraham was born ir UR, Chaldea, modern day Irak.

  • yo im turkish and its vary good thier i live in kuzbuku but now 23,2011 new jersay usa

  • I love you TURKiYEE

  • <3 Turkey God bless you <3

  • I am very proud.

  • I am so glad someone put a nice educational VIDEO about the historical past in Turkiye....THANK YOU .. !

  • Its all Greek to me!! Ephesus, Pergamon, Philadelphia, Smyrna, Thyatira, Collosae, Aghia Yorghi, Antioch, Nicean Creed, Saint Nicholas of Myra, the Celsus Library of Ephesus..why promote Turkey with wonders of greek civilisation???

  • @TheKameleon80 why promote alexander the great as greek ?

  • @yooRulmaz HAHAHAHAHA I wont even begin to argue such an uneducated statement like that!!!

  • @TheKameleon80 every1 knows him as a macedonian !

  • @yooRulmaz very true, he was a Macedonian! Any educated person knows that Alexander the Great was a Hellene (i.e a Greek)..dont confuse history with modern day poitics..FYROM has nothing to do with Macedonia of antiquity..history cannot be re-written however much present day propagandists try to twist it to suit their own agendas..What were King Leonides and his Spartans? Why would a "non-Greek" spread Hellenism (i.e Greekness) to the far reaches of the then known world?? IDIOT!! LOL

  • @TheKameleon80 macedonia is macedonia not greek and Alexander the Great was macedonian !

  • @yooRulmaz Agreed, Macedonia is Macedonia..by definition Macedonia = Hellenic :) the name Macedonia itself has a meaning in Greek..it doesnt in the Bulgarian dialect the people from FYROM speak :) Macedonia is Macedonia, not Slavic, not Bulgar..I suggest you go to your local library and read a history book..you might learn something ;)

  • @TheKameleon80 Yes there a lot of old greek constructions in Turkey, the dont destroyed it and use it as a tourist attraction and human monuments. The Turks also built a lot of monuments and buldings in Greece and Balkans, and most of the are destroyed in wars or blind hate against Turks! I think thats the most important difference between (you) greeks and (we) turks!

  • @TheKameleon80 you are right, after ottoman also turkey has founded on the land of east roman empire civilization, everybody knows that. Have you realized just now? sorry asia was too cold and not available to live on, there was no sea over there. then people decided to move more here and extend its land, like Roma has extended before. but if you wonder you can reach ottoman civilization too in Turkey, for example Safranbolu is in the unicef list of ottoman civilization.

  • @TheKameleon80 DONT JEALOUS US BECAUSE THİS İS NOT YOUR COUNTRY

  • Turkish is Greek and Armenian people who began to speak Turkish and were converted to Islam by the true Turks who invaded Anatolia.

Never forget who you are truly, Turks....

  • @AVIATIO are you on drugs? all armenian and greeks in Turkey are known, they speak turkish yes(u live in us and speak english or not?)... but they are not to much and not converted in any form! Check out some greek names they are from Turkish Language! Turks have dominate Greece and the Balkans for a long long time... so dont forget who is your real dady kid!

  • shows that the Russian. raff so to speak.

  • Free the Armenian people... give Cyprus back.

Over 1.000.000 Armenian died by the Turkish Hands.

I call for the U.N to investigate the war crimes made by the Turkeys... or is that why they are not part of the Union ?

    Free ARMENIA!

  • @GuyTatt Free Azerbaijan. Recognize the REAL and RECENT genocide of Azeri's by Armenians! Oh wait the U.N already said war crimes were commited by Armenians. God makes the just strong and shine with inner light and the hate filled & spiteful ugly.

  • All Greek!!!!

  • the people of anatolia built these monuments 2000 years ago, us turks are the ancestors of those anatolians today. so to say greeks built them is a mistatement us anatolians have been hellenized, persianized, and turkicized we are same people as we where 2000 years ago.

  • dont care who built it its very imposant to see 4 real ! this is 2009 / religions are old story's keep it real, believe in science and history and hope that our children can enjoy it asswel.

sad how many buildings where destroid in the second world war .

extreme thinking is ignorant thinking !

    peace.

  • I didn't know that Mt. Ararat was Turkish. Oh, I forgot, they took that after the genocide when they slaughtered 1.5 million Armenians in 1915. They can deny it all they want, but Mount Ararat is Armenian. The whole world knows that. I guess this amazingly informative video forgot to tell us about Turkeys real past. Fucking murderers and liars.

  • Jealousy often contains a mixture of emotions such as anger, and sadness, While jealousy and envy are similar, they differ in that jealousy is about something one has and is afraid of losing, while envy is about something one does not have and he wants to acquire or to prevent another from getting.

  • You are an envious man!!!

  • uhauahauh dont be jealous TURKEY IS THE HEART OF THE WORLD !!

  • uahuahauauh dont be jealous TURKIEY IS THE HEART OF THE WORLD !!

  • @1Fuckyouall YOU IDIOT

  • you think everything is Greek because of your ignorance. look, the universal language in those times were Greek, because of Hellenic conquest, just like English is now. So people think all these ancient writings and cities were built by Greeks but it's not true. Anatolia had it's own culture and all these places names are Anatolian(Hittite&Neo&Hittite).

  • Halicarnassus is not Greek. Ephesus is Lydian(ancient Turks), Pergamon is Roman. Constantinople is Bulgarian/Thracian. Aya Sofia was built by Constantine(a bulgar turk-not greek). Trojans were Turkish. This video is too focused on non-Turks.

  • Halicarnassus was a Dorian Greek colony, Ephesus was an Ionian Greek colony (the Lydians were indoeuropean) and Pergamon as well. Constantinople was the name given (because of Constantine whose ethnicity was not quite known, but he definitely was not a bulgar, those guys came later) to Byzantium, a greek colony in Thrace. Hagia Sophia was built by two (most likely Greek) architects during the reign of Justinian.

  • I think you need to chill your Greekness a bit. Greeks were colonizers. this is right and they persecuted Anatolians, Cypriots, Dorians, Spartans, and all people they tried to conquer. Same people that still claim Baklava and Kebaps are Greek. Dorians, Ionians, Macedonians, and Pelasgians were not Greek. Indo European is a made up linguistic group. Doesn't exist. Gypsys are Indo Europeans, does Europe accept them?

  • "Greeks were colonizers. this is right and they persecuted Anatolians, Cypriots, Dorians, Spartans, and all people they tried to conquer" LMFAO. Are you kidding? the Spartans were Dorians, which was one of the ancient GREEK tribes and the Cypriots (depending on your use) were Greek as well. Also, the Athenians were Ionian (I guess the Athenians weren't greek either).

  • Also, it's debatable whether the Macedonians were Greek from the beginning of not but their royal house at least since Alexander I claimed so for themselves and the Macedonians were certainly eventually Hellenized. Yes, indo-european is a 'made-up' linguistic group based on actual evidence. Er, sure the gypsies ARE indoeuropean (first thing you're right about) but what has that got to do with 'accepting' them?(cont)

  • Didn't indoeuropean Persians fight against indoeuropean Greeks or indoeuropean British against indoeuropean Germans?

You actually have the wrong idea about my posts. They aren't about promoting "Greekness" or anything, just calling you on your completely ahistorical posts connecting Turks with all kinds of ancient people -including greek tribes-.

  • I don't think anyone can deny the actual Ottoman influence on Balkan life, including cuisine (which you mentioned), language (partly) and so on. Like I said: you have the wrong idea.

  • I miss turkey!

  • Nice video, shame that they talked mostly about about pre-turkish achievements in Anatolia and neglected the turkish ones. The video should have been expanded.

  • Actually, there is much recent evidence of Sumerians, Thracians, Trojans, Lydian of being Turkish. Their language is similar to Azeri/Turkmen. Etruscans, forebears of the Roman empire have DNA that is most closest to Turks and Etruscans are essentially Trojans. Ataturk drove the Greeks out to avenge his Trojan ancestors...

  • Don't be ridiculous. None of the peoples you mentioned were turkic. Sumerians - spoke a language isolate, Thracians - an indoeuropean language, Trojans - most probably Luwian, Lydian - well, an indoeuropean language as well. The Etruscans -might- have been from Anatolia (genetic evidence does point to that) but the turks didn't arrive there until a few millennia later. "Ataturk drove the Greeks out to avenge his Trojan ancestors..." is just silly.

  • I'm far from ridiculous. Perhaps you are reading Vatican inspired "Eurocentric" views of the longing to connect to civilization through the made up Indo European. No such thing. English was created from Latin. Latin was created from Etruscan. Etruscan is Turkic. Their Runes are Turkic. Search Kazim Mirsan, Polat Kaya.

  • I'm sorry that I have to repeat myself: you are ridiculous. The indo-european theory is a linguistic one, based on actual evidence. Your whole "turkic-etruscan-latin-english" thing is simply inaccurate (though a great percentage of the english language is made up of Latin words). The Etruscan alphabet was based on the Greek which in turn was based on the Phoenician. Please, look up some scholarly sources and abandon your hyper-ethnocentric fantasies.

  • Please don't be ridiculous. Etruscan is older then Greek. Ancient Greeks came from Persia Indus Valley 2800 years ago and settled in modern Greece. Etruscans were already in North Italy for almost a 1,000 years before the Greeks arrive. Greeks despised the Etruscans, but stole their culture. We see the same with what the Greeks did with Ottoman Turkish culture(baklava, kebaps, music etc.)

  • Ah, where to begin? Ancient Greeks [or rather that proto-Greek element which would become Greek through its interaction with the local, older cultures (Pelasgians and so on)] came from the Pontic-Caspian steppe if we subscribe to the Kurgan theory of the spread of Indo-european languages (it's the most widely held anyway); the out of India theory is mostly rejected nowadays.

  • The Etruscans (whether they came from Anatolia or were indigenous to Italy) had absolutely NO relation to the Turkic people who were still in central Asia back then and also left texts since around 800-700 BC versus the first Greek texts which date from around 1500 BC (see Mycenaean civilisation and Linear B). As for the Greeks despising Etruscans but stealing their culture, it's a silly accusation (if one can call it that).

  • Actually, it was mostly the other way around what with the Etruscans adopting Greek gods and modifying the Greek alphabet to create their own. Again, I think it's funny that you believe the Etruscans had any relation to Turkic peoples.

    (end of response)

  • Snapper, Pelasgians are not Greeks. They are thought to be Central Asian as well. You know little about Turks. Central Asia was ONE of Turkish settlements. Birke Sweden, the Alps were apart of a large migration of Turks. Don't mistake Orkhun Turks with ancient Turks.

  • I'm very Turkish and my family even has ancient shamanistic elements going back to the GokTurk/Uygurs, which Churchwood(MU civilization) which goes beyond the Great Flood. Turkish is very ancient. Some say 12,000year old. My DNA is from Catalhoyuk going back 12,000 years.Etruscans/Lydians came from this region.Trojans, Kurgan all the same.

  • Reading comprehension, please. Reread what I said concerning the Pelasgian-Greek relationship "Ancient Greeks [or rather that proto-Greek element which would become Greek through its interaction with the local, older cultures (Pelasgians and so on)]". "Mu", "Great Flood" "12,000 year old turkish", right. The Lydian language was Indo-european, the Etruscans obviously didn't speak a Turkic language since the Turks weren't in that area during the time.

  • Also, good luck convincing scholars that the Kurgans were Turkic, hah.

  • I don't need to convince scholars the Kurgans were Turkish. At least I know it is my Turkic ancestors that lie there. KURGAN is a Turkish word? Why would it be named a Turkish word by Russians that settled in the Ukraine in the 7th century??? If scholars can't answer, they are not true scholars.

  • Yes, it's a Russian word of Turkic, specifically Tatar origin. Are Turks (the modern ethnic group) Tatars too now? The Turkic migrations have already occured, the ethnic groups have already split up (unless you're a pan-turkicist or something). Also, what's wrong with naming a culture who used tumuli to bury their dead after a word that has a similar meaning even if that word is from an unrelated linguistic group?

  • I guess you are not familiar with the DNA tests on the Amazonian Kurgans in the Ukraine. Amazonians fought with the Trojans in Lydia and are related. DNA proofs central asian/mongol connection. Amazonians were already in Europe during Greek times. Pan Turkism is not a dream, it's a reality. Turks from Finland to Siberia, speaking Turkic is a reality.

  • The Finnish language is Uralic (Finno-ugric), so I guess you must be referring to Turk immigrants in Finland. The Amazons were probably based on an Iranic group but it's not really known. Do you really connect everything to Turks? Well, nevermind, I should know by now.

  • I think the main point why you do not understand me is because you are looking at Turks as a distinctive race that came to the west in 1071. Turks are not a distinct race, it is a linguistic group with believes in Tur(Sky God Tanri/Tengri/Sumerian Dingri). Their language predates the biblical flood and ancient Turkic culture and words have survived over several thousand years. You confuse Seljuks with ancient Turks. That is the problem.

  • The West has a hard time calling ancient civilizations Turkic, because modern Turks are mainly Muslim. The iranian connection is often referred by Western scholars because they only use Latin, Greek, Arabic, Farsi and Semitic languages to decipher ancient text. That is why most of Sumerian,Phyrigian,Etruscan,Lemnos, etc did not make sense to them. Recent Mirsan, Kaya, Tarcan deciphering shows very strong Turkish link.

  • No, I understand that "Turkic" is a linguistic group. Like all linguistic groups though, a specific group of people first spoke the language before its spread. What I said is that I doubt you actually identify say with Tatars, like Indians don't identify with Italians even though they spoke languages from the same linguistic group. Phrygian is IE btw.

  • As for the rest (Sumerian, Estruscan, Lemnos steele language) I'm pretty sure that the relevant linguists would accept those claims if they had an element of truth to them. Your claim that "because Turks are mainly Muslim" I find to be false because, even though the Persians are Muslim for example, they were ascribed ancient civilizations to them. I really think that you are trying to prove that the Turks were ALWAYS in Anatolia with your ahistorical beliefs about ancient civilizations.

  • Persians are accepted because they carry the Aryan name which eurocentrics have claimed as their ancestors. Europeans lacking a major contribution to the ancient world have sought connection with Aryans, Hindus Valley, Sumerian, etc. You seem smart. I suggest your read into what i say before making judgement based on what've read in the West which is based on stereo-types and vatican inspired depictions.

  • kıskançlar ,delirmeye devam komşu

  • Go and research if you want to learn what Turks did. i think you have no idea about Ottomans.

  • hahahaha..hello again my friend..and i though that turks were muslims.through out the video i was constanty hearing the word saint and greek names of places.there is not even 1 thing in the video that the turks build or did.they are all greek..honestly now..do you like lying to yourselves?

  • You are really 15 years old. I am not talking about the video stupid!I am talking about what they did!!!!They are ancient places yes it is true, but modern IZMIr is turkish, modern ISTANBUL is turkish, ayasofya beolang to Turks. You can from Kos to see Halikarnassos. So what? Whole monuments in Balknas are built by Turks. Are we think get all them back? What kind of brain do u have? you're Cypriot not Greek!!

  • Greeks invaded Anatolia. Trojans/Miletus was all persecuted by Greeks. Anatolians were never Greek and were much more advanced then Greeks. Trojans are Turkish. Do research. Infact, some say Ionians were also Turkish. Not mongol like your government racistly promotes.

  • Fucking Liars, Armenian Anatolia and Greek Architectures are being called Turkey. The words do not even sound Turkish. Mongol invaders. Shame on Turkey. Armenian Ararat which was eastern Armenia.

  • Lies disgust me. The fact that they are situated in Turkey doesn't make them turkish wonders, but wonders captured by turks. I leave disgusted.

  • Are the venetian castles Greek?

  • bir başkadır benim memleketim

  • To me the name Istanbul symbolizes the turko-moslem hordes that slew the few defenders of Constantinople. It makes me think of the turks who tried and failed to conquer my home land of Dacia (Were true Wolves are from no MHP joke) and it makes me think of the seed of struggle that has yet to sprout.

  • We all love you our our brother state TURKEY!!! With love from Azerbaijan

  • formion1029 was your mother a roman?? :))

  • turkey is the most beautiful and historical country in the world

  • Turk is not the dna-structured name of today's Anatolian-Thracian people , but rather the title of the nation. Greeks & Turks have the amalgamations of numerous ethnical variations during the thousands of years , but the most dominant one is southeastern european- mediterrenean type in these two countries.

  • The genetic pool of two countries are closely related , according to the famous genome project or the genetical studies done by Stanford University and in many other studies . The big part of Turkish population is indigenous to Turkey , since the dawn of civilization. The common languages & the names of the land changed numerous times in Thrace & in Anatolia . The people confuse the ethnical lineages , the languages & the name of the nations. These are seperate things.

  • why dont you all just shut the hell up small minded idiots. ive just finished watching a beautiful piece on turkey (i travelled there last year and loved it).. only to scroll down and read your bollocks about turks and greeks. for craps sake just shut the hell up. From what I can see - seems like greeks have a massive chip on their shoulder. its like they're scrambling for some kind of credit for why turkey is so wonderful. Get over it. Don't reply I wont be back to read.

  • kurbannn olimm sana

  • im a born again turk (after a recent holiday to my parents mother country). i knew nothing of my own heritage but have fallen head over heels in love with the country, culture, history. LOVE IT

  • Turk,greek...etc. We are brother..

  • I miss turkey!

  • great video, lovley country and some of the most hospitable people you could wish to meet.Been with my family and travelled solo, would love to buy a house over there, maybe one day!

  • Everything good about Turkey is a creation of the GREEKS..

  • Yeah, Greeks created Istanbul, Greeks gave the color of the magnificent shores of Turkey, Greeks created that land called Anatolia which is the most spectacular land in the world! Bullshit! Most of the stuff that looks Greek to you in Turkey in terms of ruins is from the Romans. Read a little bit of of Anatolian history.

  • istanbul used to be capital of byzantium( = greece) for more than 1000 years... alicarnasus, philadelphia, ephesus where built by romans?alicarnasos was the home town of herodotos, have you ever heard of that name? according to you, he was roman? go and read some history and don't even say that you are a teacher!

  • they were built by greeks moron!!!!it is the ancia IONIA!!!if you are an honest person, say the truth!!!and herodotos moron, was A GREEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!MORON!!!

  • ANCIENT

  • my istanbul...my turkey my ppl... these re holy things for me and my penis... i will give it to an armenian girl
