It was my first time hearing the music too, getting the CD set in 94. I became obsessed with it. And then the movie and its soundtrack. When I got this show on VHS I fell in love with it too. I still have to play the CD once in a while and I have it saved on my hard drive at work. I also watch the movie at least once a year. Amy, vocally, is my favorite Jesus of all. And I've heard every commercially available version by now.
Back in '94 the Daemon version of JCS came out (I hadn't heard the original). But Amy as Jesus with Atlanta musicians re-doing it? It was a CD-only release at the time and it is the reason I bought my DVD player. Love it.
Thank you so much for sharing this. It totally brings me back to being young and driving everyone crazy for weeks on end with the 2 disc release of this remake years ago. Lost in the passion all involved brought to the project. One question though, do you by any chance have a video of Pilate's song with Gerard McHugh? From this performance.
I dunno, she hits a G in The Lepers scene near the end. She does hit a C5 here, and what sounds like a falsetto F5.... So, I guess she just chose not to.
Amazing performance!! Thumbs up from Ukraine! I think it´s the second best performance of Jesus after Ian Gillan´s.

I am a huge Amy Ray fan, and I've always thought her performance on this song represented some of the best singing she ever did.

I don't remember that awesome guitar solo being in there on the album. Nice.

First one is done, a second one is in process.
It may take a while so check again later.
Please enjoy.

It's always incredible to see Amy when she's passionate about something, but I must say I like it better when she plays herself
