where it was stuck in the host way. Unless the actual elevator(s) involved were

duplexes traveling in the same shaft way. The elevator shown is an overhead

traction elevator with 1:1 roping overhead machine room. There is no way

two elevator cabs could travel in the same hoist way. Duplex elevator use

an entirely different system (machine room less) for each car and counterweights.

D: I got traped in an elevator, well not traped but confussed :/ I was in a elevator with some friends and then and the floor numbers were for the car park and we wanted the second floor of the shopping part and we didnt press "Princess walk" Which was the floor we wanted and people kept getting in and then we ended up on the top floor, a few of my friends started to go down the stairs and a few others (Myself included) stayed in it took us 30 minutes to get to the right floor! this footage was leaked with the actual documents a few years after it happend because the mother and daughter both died when the elevator saftey gear failed and the elevators above it crashed on top of them however because it happend in a federal building the goverment were very quick to cover this up!! i remember reading somthing about it when it happend cus the family wanted answers

First, call for help on the phone and ring the bell. Then try and pull open the doors. If they pull open, and you see another door close by, fiddle with the mechanical latches until you can open it, and get out. Otherwise, sit down and wait for the elevatr man.

Anyone who suggested climbing out of the elevator is wrong. The safest place to be is inside the car...it's not going anywhere. Once you leave the safety of the car, you're in an open elevator shaft with a long way straight to the bottom. Most shafts do NOT have any type of ladder. If that was an open hatch she was filming through, it shouldn't be. In most states the maintenance access hatch has to be bolted shut from the OUTSIDE. It's there to let maintenance in, not let people get out.

Nope. It didn't crash. You're not below ground level. If the owner said it did, they know squat.

What happened is, the governor E-braked the elevator, because something was wrong. Those E-brakes do stop the elevators very quickly, in a violent manner. If it crashed, you wouldn't have a video to post (you'd die), or would be laid up in a hopsital for months. The floor would be covered in debris from falling ceiling parts, too.
