I agree with you, they are very hard to beat.

I actually love that the makers included them, but I don't like the glitchy animations. Luckily, they said they would fix that soon.

record with fraps, its way less laggy and it can record directly from your speaker too. Great Quality. One drawback though, the high quality video is usually about 100 MB for like a 15-30 sec video. (reduce to half the size using the option in the fraps control thingy, quality is also reduced, but slightly, so good!)
