IRL is an excellent racing series and it has really taken off this year. It has a good variety of street courses, road courses and ovals. I am not a fan of ovals but it is still more exciting open wheel cars on an oval than NASCAR

I miss this track. Now nothing happens there save for the Richard Petty Driving Experience. What a shame...I would like to see major American racing return.

champcar didn't listen to what people wanted. we WANTED a mix of tracks. oval, road and street circuits.all they did was try to emulate formula 1. f1 is just a nitch here. following a nitch will get you beat everytime.

And CART also killed AOWR by thinking they could actually survive without the Indy 500. Both sides are to blame. A SPLIT is only possible if there are two parties willing to SPLIT from eachother.

tony george didn't kill anything. I don't like the sound of IRL cars either. But I went to all 5 IRL races at that track and it was a great place to see a race. The races were interesting , lapped traffic was always a factor as with all short ovals. I miss that place.

the track was actually very dangerous. Davey Jones about died here in 97-98? He was actually flatlines but they brought him back. Sam Schmidt became a quadreplegic at the same spot a year later. Too many sharp angles for out of control cars.

I don't know, it seems like a nice little oval where you have to work hard, like Nazareth used to be. It's definetly better than the flat out 1.5 mile cookie cutters.
