Bruce Lee with fact in 4 years those that chuck norris, van damme jet lee jacki chan, tony jaa, steven seagal, samo hung, did not even match all their career gathered it is the most influential actor of the history,it put in these films of the whites and the blacks in spite of the racism of time,if the size of the result and the small size of the means are genius of a man then who will dare compared bruce lee in the influence of the cinema?
This video got a thumbs down when you put donnie yen at number 8. He's easily on par with jet li imo. I agree with 123...4 and 5 should be donnie yen and jet li.
Hey i'v just noticed but dude well done for respecting them all equally because even though bruce is better then them you gave the same amount of time for all of them well done for the respect but donnie should have been higher in my opinion :)
@GamingAiders -cheers pal. regarding Donnie- this vid was done back in 2008 before even IpMan 1 had come out and more recently the sequel and other top notch films. perhaps he should have been higher even back in 2008- but certainly if I did a vid like this now he would have jumped! up to around no.5!
@Drunkenmaster770 Yes, epic he should to be honest because not including the characters he played he was a good fighter himself amazing in my opinion :)

LOL YOU SHOULDA SHOWN THE SAME ENTER THE DRAGON CLIP BACK TO BACK FOR SAMMO AND BRUCE JUST FOR THE IRONY!! THIS IS VERY CLOSE TO WHAT MY TOP 10 WOULD BE...I WOULDA HAD WILSON TONG IN THERE LIKE MAYBE #6 ,HIM AND CHIA REN (BEARDY) WOULD BE A TOOTH AND NAIL TIE ALSO I WOULDA HAD LAM CHING YING!!! BUT THASS JUST ME...
Great top ten, very much similar to mine! Big thumbs up for giving Sammo such a high ranking, a lot of people, especially many western noobs who only know big international stars (Bruce/Jackie/Jet), have no idea how important pioneer figure Sammo has been for the industry.
@torhjelm - thanks a lot- allways good to hear from true fans who know their stuff- in fact as your own list is simalar to mine i class you as truely wise and knowledgable- lol. regarding Sammo- i have had so many comments slating his high placement- some even saying sammo who?!!! from the many obviously casual fans.Even just as an artist/actor he deserves to be very high but His overall contribition to so many high quality K-Fu films is immense. cheers
@Drunkenmaster770 Exactly. Generally speaking, pretty much all the old Peking opera academy students
who have slowly worked their way up to stardom, are worth their weight in gold nowadays. Being able to do backflips or flashy kicks alone doesn´t make anybody a K-Fu star, there are tons of martial artists who can do that. You need creative martial arts geniuses like Sammo or Yuen Woo-Ping to make everything look good on screen, and these people are RARE. Cheers, man.
'@ole0000002 -thats the excellent 'Dragons Forever- staring 'the 3 dragons' Jackie/sammo & yuen Biao- and 'Benny the Jet' seen there getting kicked in the mouth!
if only i had a time machine to bring bruce lee back alive, then my friend would stop debating with me by saying that chuck norris is still alive because i take side on bruce lee!
@Beastmast3r5254 -yeah- and even if Jason did- i think hed struggle to make a top 100! k-fu stars vid -in my book. chuck wouldnt be far off a high list on ability-but to be honest i can only think of 1 top quality MA film he was in- way of the dragon.
my top 10 not including bruce lee 10 wang lung wei - executioners from shaolin - the martial club 9 jhon liu - mars villa - the dragon the hero 8 leung kar yan - the thundering mantis - fist of legend 7 carter wong - born invincible - the 18 bronzemen 6 donnie yen - ip man - iron monkey 5 gordon liu - 36 chambers of shaolin - 8 diagram pole fighter 4 hwang jang lee - plays shitloads of villians 3 jet lee - fearless - shaolin temple 2 jackie chan - most of his films are good 1 kung tai ted
@MrRacktoo - you must mean 'tony jaa' & 'ongbak'. I'd imagine some clips of it may well be in a top 10 'muay thai' stars vid somewhere, and rightly so as hes the buisness!
@ole0000002 -I can only send prizes through the post- and after consideration have decided it would be cruel to put 'bubbles' in a box and post him to you-also im having to put the prizes thing on ice ftm. Have also decided that since Iron Monkey is a doubley good k-fu -im gonna leave it in with 2 mentions lol
bruce lee? bruce lee knew shit about kung fu, it was all about karate for him you dumb motherfuckers. big difference between kung fu and karate. fuck this video.
jackie chan rules bruce lee is a motha fu*** ok jackiechan rules he has a song after him (not named) look it up jackie chan remember the name by fort minor
In my humble opinion, Donnie Yen is not a martial artist, he is a narcissistic faggot. Please excuse my language but he's responsible for the downfall of kung fu cinema.

looking at all these films, i prefer the older ones, more.. realistic, not too mush flashy high jumps, bt lots of that constant back and forthing like drunken master and such.
really dude, he was the pioneer and one of the first to Asian superstars to bring in realsitc fighting sequences to a western audience and really branched out Chinese martial arts to the rest of the world. How do you think he got his fame, the Jet Li`s, Jackie Chans and Tony Jaa have Bruce to thank for opening the door to an ignorant American perspective in Hollywood and elsewhere at the time. Geez every documentary with these guys are all singing Bruce praise for what he has done.. dumbass.
Good list and maybe this is just a male list. But I would have omitted Chuck Norris and added one of these:

I, myself, don't consider consider Chuck Norris that great of a martial arts star. In terms of American stars I would have put Jim Kelly or Steven Seagal over him. Michelle Yeoh could have gotten his spot as well. Phillip Kwok (The Lizard) also.
Would like to have seen Lam Ching Ying in there and Yuen Biao should really be higher than six. But respect for giving Sammo the number two spot. He's always been my favourite.
@ayoungman77 cool. yeah LCY is great- and was 'in the running' for me. Yuen Biao was actually no5 in this, but i made an error! on the text and put no6 after allready putting HJL at 6. hard to put him higher than the top 4 as those 4 have had such an impact in the genre. if it was simply a list of my personnel fav's, YB would be no 3. nice to hear for once someone not dissin! me for puttin the great Sammo as high as 2!.cheers
It was pretty good cause I like these kind of short vids. I didn't mind the music so much, it seemed to drive it along. So - great work and I enjoyed it. I thought there were some better scenes for Sammo in The Dead & The Deadly, but hey, fair enough.
Cool presentation ruined by awful, awful music! But very nice transition from Sammo to Bruce! You should've done more with the guys who both starred in the same movies together, that was very clever!
@WarriorBoy not everyone seems to like the music!. 1st time! someone noticed the sammo/bruce link! cheers. the was one of the 1st vids i ever did- 2 odd years ago. and they were pretty basic then! I've done more in recent times-some kung fu- that have a bit more slickness and (although i like these 2 tunes) with more appropiate music!!
@Drunkenmaster770: Yeah sorry, the music just doesn't really scream martial arts to me, and neither songs are really my taste (The Fort Minor one is okay to me but it's been overplayed), but considering you included some guys lesser known to Westerners (Hwang Jang Lee, Yuen Biao, Lo Meng, etc) I can tell you definitely know your stuff! And again, good editing on this!
@nujtxeej - Fair do's- this vid was made in 2008- a bit before the realease of Donnies 1st Ip Man- His CV was good then but not amazing b4 the Ipmans and subsequent excellent films- as for Tony Jaa, for starters hes not Kung Fu so that ruled him out of this & much as im a big fan of his films,on top of that had only starred in 2 films (about 4 now!) hardly a cv to put him in an all time list with these guys.maybe i deserve more like 75% decelerated now!if i made same vid now-The Don wud b top 5.
@Drunkenmaster770 agree/ hahaha =D Tony Jaa is far from allstars but he'll be there someday. I still like him as an action actors though even though I didn't like his latest film. =D To be honest, I'm amazed that you even know Leung Kar Yan. hahaa
@wingsmanx5 - i know what your saying. But the amount of all time classic kung fu's hes starred in as well as produced/directed/cherographed is incredible (still going now!) The fact he didnt get big in the west like Jackie/Jet is a shame (prob cause hes a bit tubby!) is prob why so many 'fans' dont agree he should be so high. i could of swapped JC with him maybe, but it was my call! and im sticking to it!
@Drunkenmaster770 You said Top 10 stars ok STARS, yes Sammo Hung is a good producer, director or whatever but he isn't a big top STAR like Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan and Jet Li, he isn't famous like the other stars in the West and in Asia, oh the most famous action star in China NOW is Donnie Yen, he's #1 in China in the present time. Of course this is your video, you can do whatever you want, but most of people disagree with you. But btw I do like Sammo Hung, he's a good guy and very funny.
@wingsmanx5 - didnt see this other comment!- you right i did use the word 'stars' which would lead people into thinking it about being most famous etc. maybe i should change the title! although i did try and account for my reasonings in the vid describtion.
I'm going away now to try and think of a more appropiate title- perhaps something like 'My Top 10 fav Kung Fu movie contributors who were also very important' lol I think might leave it! and just let fans have a few debates-
contin- hopefully most enjoy the vid- and seek films out with these and other great k-fu stars from past and present. I think its time i 'retired' from replying to all the queries!!- its been going on a while!.cheers
@Drunkenmaster770 We all agree Bruce Lee is the #1, he made the martial art movies famous. Let's talk about Jackie Chan, he's so famous that even little kids in Africa know about him. About Jet Li, his first movie Shaolin Temple was famous all over China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan and the rest of Asia. Donnie Yen haven't been famous like the others but recently his movie IP MAN (1&2) is #1 movie in the whole China including Hong Kong and Taiwan. When did Sammo Hung have movies like these?
@wingsmanx5 - your basing that on your own assumption that this vid is based soley on global impact. Its based on impact on the quality of kung fu films (which Sammo certaintly did greatly) weather or not the 'global' world choose to watch many of those- and prefered waiting for later watered down/hollywoodised movies with the likes of JC and Jet, that is there buisness- not mine! and fans of top quality kung fu films- weather there old skool or new..
Yeah People are right, Tony Jaa isn't Kung Fu, Kung Fu is a specific Chinese branch of the martial arts, he made a top 10 Kung fu, nto Martial arts, lol. Other wise I would agree Toyn needs to be in there
u forgot about ip man for donnie yen

@Drunkenmaster770: Yeah sorry, the music just doesn't really scream martial arts to me, and neither songs are really my taste (The Fort Minor one is okay to me but it's been overplayed), but considering you included some guys lesser known to Westerners (Hwang Jang Lee, Yuen Biao, Lo Meng, etc) I can tell you definitely know your stuff! And again, good editing on this!

I give it 60% accelerated. Jet Li, Donnie Yen, Jackie Chan, Toney Jaa, Sammo Hung and Bruce Lee are the top six. I can't believe Donnie was 8? Crazy.

Drunkenmaster770 9 months ago
@Drunkenmaster770 agree/ hahaha =D Tony Jaa is far from allstars but he'll be there someday. I still like him as an action actors though even though I didn't like his latest film. =D To be honest, I'm amazed that you even know Leung Kar Yan. hahaa

@nujtxeej -cool dude! as for Leung kar yan/beardy... im old/skool!!

Everyone should watch Donnie Yen's IP MAN(1&2), let him show you what real Wing Chun is!!!
wingsmanx5 9 months ago
Sammo Hung is good but he is the 2nd? I don't think so.
wingsmanx5 9 months ago
@wingsmanx5 - i know what your saying. But the amount of all time classic kung fu's hes starred in as well as produced/directed/cherographed is incredible (still going now!) The fact he didnt get big in the west like Jackie/Jet is a shame (prob cause hes a bit tubby!) is prob why so many 'fans' dont agree he should be so high. i could of swapped JC with him maybe, but it was my call! and im sticking to it!
Drunkenmaster770 9 months ago
@Drunkenmaster770 You said Top 10 stars ok STARS, yes Sammo Hung is a good producer, director or whatever but he isn't a big top STAR like Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan and Jet Li, he isn't famous like the other stars in the West and in Asia, oh the most famous action star in China NOW is Donnie Yen, he's #1 in China in the present time. Of course this is your video, you can do whatever you want, but most of people disagree with you. But btw I do like Sammo Hung, he's a good guy and very funny.
wingsmanx5 9 months ago
@wingsmanx5 - didnt see this other comment!- you right i did use the word 'stars' which would lead people into thinking it about being most famous etc. maybe i should change the title! although i did try and account for my reasonings in the vid describtion.
I'm going away now to try and think of a more appropiate title- perhaps something like 'My Top 10 fav Kung Fu movie contributors who were also very important' lol I think might leave it! and just let fans have a few debates-
Drunkenmaster770 9 months ago
contin- hopefully most enjoy the vid- and seek films out with these and other great k-fu stars from past and present. I think its time i 'retired' from replying to all the queries!!- its been going on a while!.cheers
Drunkenmaster770 9 months ago
@Drunkenmaster770 We all agree Bruce Lee is the #1, he made the martial art movies famous. Let's talk about Jackie Chan, he's so famous that even little kids in Africa know about him. About Jet Li, his first movie Shaolin Temple was famous all over China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan and the rest of Asia. Donnie Yen haven't been famous like the others but recently his movie IP MAN (1&2) is #1 movie in the whole China including Hong Kong and Taiwan. When did Sammo Hung have movies like these?
wingsmanx5 9 months ago
@wingsmanx5 - your basing that on your own assumption that this vid is based soley on global impact. Its based on impact on the quality of kung fu films (which Sammo certaintly did greatly) weather or not the 'global' world choose to watch many of those- and prefered waiting for later watered down/hollywoodised movies with the likes of JC and Jet, that is there buisness- not mine! and fans of top quality kung fu films- weather there old skool or new..
