  • duel boot your computer so you can laugh at all these single operating system people. I just love how these people have to justify their system while secretly wonder if they got the right system. stop justifying apple and windows and start asking for better "USEFUL" things in your computer. btw didnt think i was gonna get into a mac/pc arguement. I have a duel boot imac and macbook with windows 7 and xp, but im looking for a tablet/tablet pc/convert. tablet what would should i get?

  • @ 2:14 he draws 666! U satanist :D

  • Apple fans whats wrong with u? Scared? God damn. I like the equipment shown here!

  • ...ok asshole thats why Apple says their more innovative then microsoft yet they name their company after a fruit and name all their OS releases after a type of cat.

  • In fact, it is not correct to say 3% uses macs. We cas say more correctly 3% of the computer users are morons.

  • Apple represents the projection of stupidity percentage of the people that put their hand on a computer. You cannot really speak to a I am a mac person. I always through them some lines about how they suck and then I just get amused to hear their frustration bubble out of their heads

  • Ladies and gentlemen, DO NOT FEED THE TROLLS. Or the freakin' morons.

  • dell what is it?

  • Everybody is getting all exited about this whole Mac Vs. PC thing...

Why can't you just pick an OS and be happy with it? There are better things to fight about then which OS you like better.

  • What about Windows being MORE vulnerable to f***ing viruses and spywares?

  • Stupid fanboys, all you do is make people hate Macs/Windows more.

  • Did everybody forget about Linux? :(

  • Love it, finally multi touch is coming to mainstream! Not unlike that overpriced Lemur controller :D!

  • Okay linux time!

what model touchscreen are they using in that? we need to get them directly from china...

  • $2500?

    whoops.

    toss that one out.

  • dammm 2500 they smokin dat good stuff.

  • I noticed this got very poor ratings... it is sad that people put down the very first generation of technology. It is a BRAND NEW tech so quit your bitching. You people are asking for something that takes years to develop in a matter of months.

  • could it be possible to draw in photoshop or corel painter?

  • Note that he is advertising the multitouch screen, and he still uses keyboard!!!

    Hilarious

  • It's easier to type with a real keyboard than with a touch keyboard. That's why texting on an iphone is slower than on a cellphone with a real keyboard.

  • Note that he is pubblicizing the multitouch screen, and he still uses keyboard!!!

    Hilarious

  • What they didn't mention is that this model holds a starting price of $2,500.

  • and the point is ? If this is the best that Dell can come up with ...

  • Please, Apple Fans, you don't need to knock everything else that is impressive just to justify the ridiculous amount you paid for your Apple product. At the end of the day... use what you want to. Me personally, Microsoft does everything i want well and i dont have to feel like a gimp for paying for it. And, surface computing is the only technology using miltitouch that impresses me and will make any difference to our lives in the end.

    That is just my opinion.

  • I'm a Mac user and I have to say they are more expensive but the quality is better too... nonetheless i think your right, multi touch technology is not new but with Microsoft Surface, i think they really got everything out of it. I'm looking foward to see that Surface table in my living room in a couple of years!

  • My experience is that tablet PCs tend to be more expensive than Macs...but there is no tablet Mac, yet, except the Hackbook, which is glitchy. And if you know what you're doing, you can make a PC that is as good quality as a Mac for cheaper. Most people just buy premade computers, though.

  • I've never used a PC that was even half as good as a Mac...for quality or anything else. I mean, every PC I've used has been egregiously slow and just poorly-made. Every Mac I've used, on the other hand, has been well-made and worth the money.

  • Try spending as much money on a PC as you did your mac. Of course, you would then have so little cash, you'd probly have to sleep under your computers.

  • I've used expensive PCs and they still weren't even comparable to a Mac of a lower price.

Just face it--Macs are well-built and PCs just aren't.

  • Define expensive. And you might want to download an antivirus. Like one of the gazillion free ones. Or any of the gazillion free apps on PC.

And if you really think you know that much about computers to have such a great opinion, make your own. If you can't you should probably shut up.

  • Expensive, as in $1,000 and up. PCs just cause trouble no matter how you use them.

Also, the great thing about Macs is that you don't need to make your own. Macs come with everything anyone could ever need...plus, Macs just work (unlike PCs).

  • "Macs just work..." That's a great argument. You don't have to even have any proof. It's like saying,"God is love" or some bullshit.

And it's is TOTAL bullshit. Macs do break. Unlike PCs, however, you can't troubleshoot it, because even Apple doesn't know what the hell went wrong.

That's how perfect Macs are. They come with their own entourage of fanboys, hangers-on, and useless tech support.

And there's no games, no free apps, no liveliness to the community.

  • Macs are a lot more durable than any PC out on the market! Macs last twice as long and, in most cases, probably more than twice as long as PCs. Also, Apple's tech support are some of the most knowledgeable tech support I've ever had to deal with.

Another fact to prove you wrong is that MOST games can run on Macs (you're too ignorant to realize that though). There's also the fact that, on Apple's website, iMovie HD 6 can be downloaded for free and I'd be willing to bet there's more than that!

  • Sorry--couldn't finish in that last comment...here's the rest:

Macs are easier to fix problems on than on PCs. For instance, if you need to fix the internet connection on a PC, you'll have to go through a bunch of bullshit to fix it. On a Mac, you probably won't even need to call tech support to figure it out.

Everything on a Mac that's pre-installed (iLife) is all made by Apple so it all works together--that's what I meant by, "Macs just work." Trust me--that statement is true.

  • Great. You know you need to use Boot Camp and buy a copy of Windows to make most games work on Mac? That defeats the purpose of owning a Mac, whatever the purpose is. Possibly to look cool?

And iLife is OK, only Garage Band is exceptional; but try getting other apps that are better. There aren't that many, are there? No one wants to develop for Mac because Apple will stab them in the back eventually. Only Adobe can, cuz they're a software partner.

Durability and inability to discard are diff.

  • Also, iMovie is first-party, and just one app. Great example, man. I could come up with a dozen PC alternatives, and you know it. And you also need to have the old version of iLife anyway--so you're not getting anything free that shouldn't already be free. Microsoft doesn't charge for service packs, but Apple can, and no one complains. It's like you guys are brainwashed to take whatever crap Apple feeds you.

  • Here's the difference between Apple and Microsoft: Apple spends time developing their products so they're all high-quality and, when a product of theirs needs fixing, they fix it. When Microsoft develops a product, they make it as poorly for the lowest amount of money that they can make it for to bring yet another poorly-designed piece of junk from Microsoft--the makers of the pre-installed virus known as Windows.

iLife also includes iPhoto, iWeb and iDVD which are a thousand times...

  • ...better than the Microsoft equivalent.

Another thing is that, in order to run a game on a Mac, you don't NEED to run Windows in most cases. You'll just need to have the same requirements such as the right graphics card, etc.

All the PC alternatives to Apple applications are crap. Take Shadow Copy for instance. It copies your files to the computer's hard drive which doesn't back it up.

With Apple's Time Machine, each file is copied to an external hard driving, securing it forever!

  • It's called RAID. Do you know what RAID is? And no, PC apps are very, very good. Have yu ever used any? And you DO need Windows to play games. There are almost no games coming out for Mac natively. You need Bootcamp, you need Windows.

If Apple is so great, why do most people not use it? That's a great question, don't you thing? Maybe because people don't like having to do exactly as a multinational is telling them to? You realize that Microsoft also has to handicap their own apps because...

  • they are such a large company making their own apps to versatile will break anti-trust laws. For example, Windows Media Player has had many functions dropped because it can't do everything--it comes with Windows pre-installed and would be unfair to third-party media players.

Also, Microsoft manages to make an OS that works with ANYTHING. They have very little control over the hardware and standards on the PCs that use their OS. It is obvious there would be errors in such a large environment...

  • begging the question, if apple controls the entire development cycle of their OS, computers, and many of their apps, why in the hell do they still have ANY problems at all? Every error on a Mac is inexcusable, because it's always Apple's fault. They're the only ones making the OS or computer or dev environment--MS has no control over how other developers and manufacturers use their OS anymore. Hence, they have an excuse. Apple has none.

  • You really want to know why most people don't use Macs? Here's why: the price. Other than that, there's NOTHING that turns people away from Macs. Just about everyone who switches from PC to Mac, they never go back!

  • I went back. MacOS is frustrating. I cant make it do what i want. I cant customize the ui at all. Suxorz

  • Ehhhh..... Like to see a Mac run Crysis. All PC games are, well for the PC.

  • No 64-bit CS4 for Mac. And every IT company (except Apple) I've been to (I live in Silicon Valley) uses Windows for workstations. Servers all run Linux though. I remember the elementary school around here uses Macs though. Windows simply has more software developer interest because of the higher market share, so Windows gets more updates and beta testing. Nothing you can do about it.

How did Dell's Tablet turn into Mac vs. PC?

  • nucleartime: In all truth, the only reason Macs aren't used more often is because of the price. Of course, for what you get with a Mac, I feel it's worth it. Every Windows-based PC I've used has been so slow (not right away, but within a few months).

How did this turn into Mac vs. PC? You know--Mac fans and PC fans are all here on YouTube. If they both come to a video, it's basically like the start of a war.

  • By that logic, Linux would be everywhere.

Mac OSX only works on Macs. Windows is not limited to specific hardware. It annoys many people, including me. I think this is the main reason. Although by that logic, Linux would still win.

What about the "its so expensive and others are buying it, so it must be worth the price" effect. Colleges often get more applicants after raising tuition, strangely enough. Thus Apple should make Macs EVEN MORE EXPENSIVE. /sarcasm

  • nuclaertime: You failed to mention that, when you get a Mac, you can also run Windows XP and Vista, if you actually feel the need to. Plus, Microsoft, before its OS got popular, stole its OS from Apple.

Nowadays, Microsoft still steals many of its ideas from Apple--take the Zune, for one.

Perhaps that's one of the reasons why Apple can't lower the price of all of their products--because Microsoft will just make a cheaper, not-so-well-made version of a great Apple product.

  • with a good virus scanner is PC the best ;) It's good for everything, MAC sux big time... well you say MAC is better, but why does everyone uses PC's? Because PC is better ;) Face it... PC is the best ;) It will ALWAYS rule

  • AdjeMegen1: "Everyone uses PC's?" That's like saying that everybody's a good person--it's not true! In fact, Macs have been gaining popularity in recent years.

By the way, anything a Windows-based PC can do, a Mac can do better...with the exception of gaming. Oh, and Windows Movie Maker? That sucks--iMovie is a thousand times better!

  • Everyone uses PC because it's cheaper... always has been, always will be. You get what you pay for.

  • i use pc cause 1 its cheap and 2 its easy for me, but when it comes to media and design the mac takes the cake, the pc's are a bit more user friendly because the mac's are geared towards the media editing and design world...so to say that pc are best and mac's suck, is a little uneducated i think

  • Windows is more frequently used solely because Microsoft did a better job selling their product. Not because Microsofts products are any better than Apples, but simply because they made the right business moves at the right time. Btw, Mac's don't need copious numbers of antivirus measures, as they are significantly less vulnerable.

No machine is BETTER than another, I simply find Mac is more stable and thats why I own a macbook.

  • @D0ug91

Everything you said is completely backwards... Apple only sells their product because of their business moves like switching to intel and pushing their ipods quality. Their products are much more stylish and appeal to people only because of their advertising campaign. Their products are horribly over-priced because they control everything.

Microsoft is the exact opposite, since they never marketed their products and STILL controlled almost 100% of the market share.

  • While both companies were in their infancy, Microsoft was a smarter company business wise. They borrowed (eek, stole) unpatented ideas and components from Apple. Microsoft also was better at advertising themselves. They have the monopoly in the business and home markets, apple does NOT. Apple simply controls their proprietary hardware control on their OS. Only an apple computer (should) runs OS X. This makes Apple a hardware AND software company. You can't really compare based on stylish or not

  • Virusses usually target the systems that are most frequently used. This goes for browsers and OS's. And since when is Apple not the company that sells because of their marketing? Apple's quality is really low compared with the price you pay for it. Last I checked a 30" screen sold for 1600 euro, while similar screens sold for less than a 1000. Apple is the "cool" brand, while Microsoft is the "evil, but can't do without" brand.

  • It's not a matter of what is more or less frequently used. Mac OS is built off of Unix, the same language used in Linux. Unix is THE most secure platform for which an OS can be built. Evil or not, those are the facts.

  • IF Mac would be more popular, then the mac would require more and more virus protection. becouse who would wan't to hack 2 milion poeple when the can get Bilions?

  • Also, you stated that, "Every error on a Mac is inexcusable..." Let me ask you this: what errors are there on Macs?

No viruses. Far less likely to crash than Windows OS. Faster. Looks better.

There is but one error on a Mac--the price. Nothing more. The price should be even higher for the quality of the computer. PCs are built on the worst OS available--Windows. Face it--Microsoft makes crap and there's no getting around it.

  • Again, if they make crap, why do so few people own Macs and so many people own PCs? Is it because whatever is wrong with PCs, the fact people who own Macs are almost always elitist douchebags turns them off from the platform?

The average age of Mac users is 54 years old. That means the same people who bought into Macs in the 80s are still basically the same people using them now. And that older people with a lesser grasp on comps use Macs. Because they're easier. When did easy mean better, tho?

  • In case you haven't noticed, there has been a rise in the popularity of Macs in the last few years. Also, the average age of Mac users is 54-years-old? What's that based on? All the people I know who own Macs are between 17-years-old and around 30-years-old.

Here's the real reason why most people buy PCs: they want to save money. Of course, with the cost of anti-virus software, people end up spending more for a PC than they will for a Mac (that's if the PC actually lasts long at all...

  • ...which most PCs don't last long at all).

Also, Macs aren't just easier to use, but they also outperform PCs.

For instance, if you take a standard iMac with 1GB RAM, it will outperform a Dell, HP or Gateway desktop with 2GB RAM. Don't believe it? Well, it's true.

All PCs do is cause trouble for the user. PCs become virus-infected as they're built. I know someone who said their PC actually came with a virus on it.

  • guys!!! lets all just relax!! both of them rock in their own ways ok? macs are great cuz they look good, come up with great innovative features... windows rocks cuz its more compatible and has more options, its also great for developers of any kind! now all of u just agree to this and chill out! PEACE!!

  • Windows is compatible with all crap though! Apple develops all the great applications that come on a Mac so everything works perfectly together. Then, with a Windows-based PC, Windows is made by Microsoft, the computer could be made by Dell, HP or Gateway and nothing works at all! Every Windows-based PC is good for only two things--crashing and becoming infected with viruses.

Anything you can do on a Windows-based PC, you can do on a Mac. Macs can run Windows through Boot Camp...

  • ...proving that Apple is compatible with more applications and software.

Plus, Microsoft steals all it's ideas from Apple...yet, somehow, can't match the quality.

  • Can we all just stop the Mac elitism? I'm tired of Mac users denigrating Windows users for being so inane to use PC which is "good for only two things--crashing and becoming infected with viruses." (heard that just too many times). Of course, I'm also sick and tired of Windows users disparaging Mac users for using "overpriced" machines. Let's just let each other have his/her own way and stop this name calling business.

  • KrosisHTS: Not until the anti-Mac folks stop saying Macs suck...when they obviously don't! I mean, why would so many people be willing to spend the extra money on a Mac, if they're not good?

If you Mac haters want to see just some of the video editing Macs can do, check out some movies on Mr. Safety's YouTube channel (his username is smpfilms, I believe)!

  • (cont) Name one thing in the world of computers that came out and instantly had every little function your heart could desire or worked the best it could possibly work? Truth of the matter is these things get better with time and allow the creativity to follow. Dell, although not my PC company of choice, is at least making something something happen and is one of the first companies to do so.

  • All i hear everytime someone does something kewl like this is how amazing Apple is... Get over it people. Apple didn't invent the thechnology and didn't even design or make the technology they use their phone. This is still early days and it should at least be looked at positively rather than critisized the whole time.

  • total apple hack, sack those presenters now!!!

  • OMG Now I can move my photos with my fingers and resize them!! And make crazy draws!!

    C'mon Dell Sux ass!!

  • lol, apple didnt invent multi touch. I believe it was bell labs back in the 80s. Apple was the first major company to introduce a multi-touch consumer device that actually used the technology well.

  • yeah well whatever, they have a patent for it so i just assumed they "own" the technology. i always that was wierd..but yea. Apple will probably be the first company to use multi-touch in computers well too. their engineers are awesome!

  • Idiot.

  • true... so true

  • They need new marketing department.

  • so...

  • ....is dell trying to copy apple with the presentations?

  • like every technology company now has mimic keynote address.

  • ok so, basically what they're saying is, "we've added a new way to interface with a computer....but we really haven't figured out anything useful to do with it yet"

  • Hmmm...Let's see... I can spend over $500 for a piece of electronic junk, or can I buy some colored crayons. NOT!

  • what is this? !

what the fuck am i suppose to do with it?

useless... let's wait until Apple announces their tablet with multi touch ability. they are working on it as we speak.

  • looks pretty useless to me

  • everyone I know who has a tablet seems to have problems after a while. they are not very durable.

  • apple rules!!

  • Mac all the way.

  • that was one poor presentation

  • that is the ugliest and most useless pieace of shit ive ever seen.

  • oh my good, so hitec and funny. not

  • Tablet pcs are incredibly underpowered pieces of shit. Plus because they are using windows, there is almost no use for multi touch.

And i will never forgive dell for buying alien-ware and then jacking the prices up and making worse computers.

  • then u watch this video and u say to yourself thats kinda lame

  • Shitty quality, inefficient billing, frustrating and inadequate customer service. I would never personally purchase from them after having to deal with Dell at work. Dell sucks.

  • wow there in the process of makeing multi touch.. soon they will have cuaght up to the iphone..... HAHAHAHAHAHHA

  • Yeah apple has yet to make a tablet(let alone a multi-touch tablet) computer. :)

    Behind the times...

  • Wow! You can draw 5 squiggly lines in Microsoft paint all at once!

  • Low responsivity there, eh?

  • Dell can go to hell, Apple for the win!

Multi touch like on the iPhone and iPod touch is great.

  • Except it's not a tablet...

  • You've already been brainwashed...their marketing department is amazing at Apple.

  • Fuck Dell. What a shitty company.

  • LAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEE

  • "..and this is gonna be availble in a couple months". Read: "We don't have a launch date yet".

  • This would go well with my iPhone... I love the Multitouch on that.

  • Multi Touch is stupid, this a lot of show and no go... how impractical

  • OMG! why did I already bought my tablet pc?? I should have waited for this to come out! oh yeah I know why... if we keep waiting for the last technologies we never buy... therefore we never own!
