The images are portraying the soldiers thoughts and who the mindset changes from when you are just entering a conflict to once you have seen it up close and obviously the soldiers when thinking of honor, home, etc are going to picture the people from their home not the place they entered.

And if you are referring to the enemy soldiers they are meant to be american as well.

Dubai was destroyed by sandstorms. The 33rd division was sent in to help survivors.

You are the leader of a 3 man squad who was sent in to investigate what happened to the 33rd who have fallen out of contact.

When there you find out that in an attempt to maintain order among the survivors the 33rd has gone rogue and taken control of the area.

@quinxxer try looking deeper. The trailer shows the core idea of the games story. The portrayal of the horror of war and how disaster and war changes things. Starts off highway pristine city images of all the things soldiers think about before they see war. Then as it goes the images change. They start to move towards the horrors that disaster and war causes as well as the landscape becoming more and more destroyed. Then it ends with the character seeing the disaster and war in its true horror
