  • I assume the five must be a generic term because I would have thought Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky the most famous of all russian composers.

  • @husker666 It's actually not. Those five composers did in fact get together at some point. Tchaikovsky is definitely the most famous Russian composer, but he was not a part of any group in particular.

The same thing can be said of a group of French composers called "Les Six," since none of them are as famous as, say, Debussy or Ravel.

  • Wonderful and mighty Composition.Thnaks a lot for sharing.Alvarson.

  • da haben sich wohl 2 Leute verklickt

  • who are "the five"? i want to investigate russian composers in the future.

  • @hopelesscynic1 According to Wikipedia, it's Mily Balakirev, César Cui, Modest Mussorgsky, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov and Alexander Borodin. You can start your investigation now. :-)

  • Russian music as a whole tends to be of a very high standard. This and all pieces I have heard from the various members of the five aswell as a number of other Russian composers around the time, slightly afterwards and a long time before are excellent.

  • ...Wonderful...

  • I love this song, but is this made with some sort of midi output? The trumpets sound fake to me. Or I could just be hearing something strange.

  • @devonmorin1 they sound sort of fake, I guess we'll never know.

  • @slaytesics If you hear them they are real.

  • I LOVE IT!!!!

  • Does anybody knows who the performers are (orchestra and conductor)?

  • i love this orientalish russia music xD thats sooo rspktly.
