Sandy Denny was truly great. Why do we idolise those who are gone before their time? Maddy Prior had a different but no less electric presence and voice. Fairport and Sandy made each other, but you have to give Fairport credit for surviving several losses. The concept that FC pioneered will live long after England is gone.
