  • A year and one day since this video was posted and what a year for IC82 its been lol !

  • That Rolling Road has come a long way since the old H&M "Loco Tester".

  • where did you get the sound decoder from

  • had my falcon 6 months so far so good .:) best engine ive owned.

  • Hi, when i got mine, i had lights fitted & a sound decoder, first day out the box, that link failed, no warranty because i had that work done, so i just removed it, next time its Bachmann for me, you can see mine on my uploads, cheers

  • @derinr - good luck! All the motor problems I've had have been with models made by Bachmann.

  • more problems with hornby railroad range falcons buyers beware my model is only 2 year old and already fell apart 6 times 1st motion fell to bits 2nd tender wheel mount fell inside of tender 3rd and 4th time wheel rims on bogie fell off 5th tow bar fell off an 6th wheel rim fell off bogie again has any one else had problems with their models from hornby all my problems started about 2 weeks after the loco was bought new

  • Can you show more tips on how to improve your locos

  • @hornbymanzpc - I can and will get some done :)

  • Was the Falcon damaged in the box or did it happen running?

  • @SuperJimjoe - not sure - we'll never know

  • Keeep on going falcon

  • i noticed one of those rods on my grandads LNER blue liveried falcon.

  • @scooterist1972 - thankfully she is fixed now and a video on it is in the queue for uploading! :)

  • You know what annoys me abou some of these models? When it comes to the bachman G-sclae models, the knuckle rods are NEVER accurately positioned in terms of angle.

  • ill show you with photos if you like.

    or maybe make a vid.

  • its simple its not broken, if you take the allen head nut off carefully then lift off the linkage you will see the linkage has an oval shape hole it locates on top of to keep it in the right position find the sweet spot were it sits and get it the right way around and you will be fine

  • the problem is the pin or nut that should be holding the linkage in place was missing from out of the box. So a pin has been used to give the linkage something to actually 'hold on to' as it were - but there's too much movement with this pin and instea of simply moving up and down, the linkage is also moving from side to side.

  • i see what you mean. however i think it might be doing that as it is not bolted on at the correct angle. thus when it reaches a certain point it moves to the side as it can on the pin however if it was locked it would bend. this is why it needs to be moved to a differnt angle were located on the wheel

  • i have a problem with my a4 quicksilver

i think its the motor becuase theres this copper wire comming out from out of the first wheel from the front bogges. do you know what or why this could of happened leve comment on my channel plz

  • hmmm - a wire at the front? on show? It could be the cable taking power from the front wheel pick-ups to the motor/pcb. I'd definitely get the case off, have a look at what's going on and see if you can sort it before it gets worse.

    (also on your channel)

  • in my flying scottsman 1 of the bolts holding the links fell out and its not staying in place and scraping on the track. ANY HELP???

  • @Olekee98 - it needs to be repaired - obviously. The best thing to do is take it to your local model railway shop who can probably carry out the repair or know someone who can.

It is pretty simople to do..

    1) a new pin is put in place or a makeshift pin is used to hold it where it needs to be held

    or

    2) the entire linkage is replaced - a bit of a waste but Hornby do sell replacement linkage sets to dealers and repair shops (not the general public - as far as I know)

Let me know how you do!

  • thanks theres 1 more problem the loco is not moving forward moter works VERY good but it won't bugg it moves backwards slowly . any idea why its not moving????

  • could be that the motor is not engaging with the teeth that power the flywheel/s that power the wheels.

If the motor is working, but she's not moving then you definitely need to get her body off and see what's going on underneath. They're really not that complicated, so don't be scared to have a look.

  • yes i did and it is all well but when she does't move i press down on her and she moves

  • i had the same problem with my royal scot about a week ago but it as stopped now

  • @jaannetts16 - oh noo. How come it's stopped tho? Was it just loose or something?

  • call me jaike, i think it was loose

  • ok Jaike :) hmmm - might need tightening - keep an eye on it

  • okk

  • Hope you get it fixed

  • @Class59Cameron - thank you! Me too. I'm sure it will be. ;)
