My PSU is burning in my PC right now, it's smelling at least. Should I take it off? I'm downloading a 2Gig file for Friday. It must finish, but I'm afraid my PC will burn. It has no fan. The ambient temp here is ~27 degrees Celsius.

@cheetawolf: what does a bad fan have to do with corrupted files? And all he/she did was take the power supply out of the computer, take the top off, plug it in, and drop a little water on it. No computer was destroyed.

What do you mean, fans put in power supplies like that are $4 a piece.

Nice vid tho, that thing shouldn't have existed in the first place. A REAL power supply with short circuit protection would've just shut off. Imagine what one of those things could do to the rest of your computer... It happened to my dad a few years ago, and it fried everything but the mouse. Yes, even the keyboard.

So do yourself a favor and buy a quality power supply.

Hmm, i have a Seasonic 500W and it's HEAVY and very good quality. When i took it apart to clean the fan it didn't look anything like that inside...

But every manufacturer has their rights and wrongs.
