actually i don't really think the side armour is bad cuz ive actually bounced a 107mm off it, i was a Su-85 on Karelia, hugging the mountain (left side) and i saw the full side and fired, this actually has happened multiple times in different matches. it's that or im very very very unlucky

@ScreamingSturmovik It's hard to say. There are lots of tanks that seemingly have crap armor that get dings a lot, like the KV.

the better turret also closes up the top, so HE won't be that effective. if enemy lobs he through the open top its one shot kill.

@ScreamingSturmovik If they had them I would get them. lol There was one tank, SPG I think, that had vents even though it was open top. It provided the bonus anyway. WoT found the error, and removed vents as an option on that tank.

I have to say your team was really .... something.... like that AMX 12t dumb-babbling all the time, or the KV with the Derp trying to snipe :)

I really love my Slugger too and for a while I played it almost daily (got 266 matches with it). I had the AT-25, but didn't like it soooo much and went back to the Slugger :)

The Slugger armor values dont actually reflect its effective armor. As with most american tanks, the crotch or lower hull is the most armored, it has the armor value given with a pretty nice slope. There is a row of rivets going horizontally. Above this, the hull armor is weak, around 50mm. The turret mantlet is quite good, capable of bouncing 90 mm Slugger rounds. The gun depression is amazing. The Slugger 90mm gun actually has a slower RoF than the heavy tank equivalent, but it's more a

@TheRiisingSun Because I was posted up in what I consider the TD position. There were lots of heavies, especially the KV-3 which should have been in the north. If the KV-3 and KV had been there I wouldn't have had to move up there to help. ... All players being equal of course.

I never did get the hang of the Slugger, after 110 games only had 101 kills compared to my T25 AT 200 games and 271 kills. The T25 is not a very good sniper though, is best used as an assault td imo.

I've found that the upper front armor is more like 51mm, like the sides.

I think the engines are also from the M10, so you don't really need to upgrade those.

You can mount the turret without the tracks, you can't mount the gun.

@Icebreeze899 Well just for clarity I'm in my garage now with stock tracks, 90mm gun, and stock turret. You can load either the upgraded turret or 90mm with the stock tracks. I suggest the 90mm.

Nice to know when I get to it I can just grind out and mount the gun directly! Also, LOVELOVELOVE the Jumbo. That tank is made of awesome! Stock turret + 105 + deep hull down = crit spam of death. Also gotta love facehugging KV-3s to their doom :)

I drove one on the test server. On cliff, i just stood behind a rock and my front armor was very angled while my side armor was guarded by a rock, it bounced of Lowe shots :)

The armour on the slugger is only 114mm in the piece of hull that is directly inbetween the tracks and below those bolts. Otherwise its like 60mm

@dungeongurunet well I tested it out against the short 88, which if the whole front is 114mm, the effective armour should be about 140mm with the slope and normalization. This means that more then half the time the 88 should bounce. However the bit below the bolts is not penetrated by the 88 reguraly

i am currently driving one and i have to say it is not that great as a sniper tank. i get lots of misses, dings and nonesense wehen i try to engage at long range. in medium ranges it's where this tank shines, the 90 mil just tears shit up.
