Bad Brains were probably the tightest & best punk band around in the hardcore era... Those guys had serious fucking talent!!! They're still one of my all-time favourite bands!!! H.R was a living legend...
someone recently told me that is I let Justin Beiber in to my heart , I would learn to like him. Beiber could not survive 10 minutes in my heart. cuz i sounds like this in there.
@yitzchak13 Oh, fuck off. You can't say someone is a punk or not based on the shallow pretense of the style of the way they play their music, you fucking pillack.
bad brains was, and still is, THE MOST INFLUENTIAL thing that has EVER happened to the punk movement in the U.S., i know, i know, punk is dead and all that, but bad brains still gives me that energetic burst of happiness, fucking awesome video, thanks for posting the lyrics
Eh, thats very arguable. Honestly, I would have to say The Minutemen or Black Flag were much more influential. While Bad Brains was the catalyst for DC hardcore Black Flag was a much more prominant hardcore band during the 80s. The Minutemen's "Double Nickles on the Dime" album is most definately one of the greatest punk albums ever.
well black flag is a standard, but it's no match for bad brains. and that applies double for minutemen. how can you seriously write what you wrote when there is sooo big gap between these two either in musical skill or originality/ideas.
i don't take in account that bf smells with commercialism (ads, merchandize...) from the start, while bad brains obviously didn't care about anything but playing. maybe this makes them less influential in some peoples eyes
Black Flag never advocated for that commercialism, and that is what eventually led to Henry Rollins leaving, that and he wanted to do his own shit. Yeah, Black Flag is one of the quintessential hardcore bands so poser faggots will exploit "The Look" but they were in it for the music just as much as Bad Brains. Bad Brains kick ass, but in the end Black Flag was much more prominent and arguably more influential, as they stayed hardcore, while BB eventually moved to crossover metal.
