This is a great video, as I remember the Sunday morning the Hinsons were frequent on the "Gospel Singing Jubilee" and I recall watching them on that Sunday morning before leaving to go to church. I remember this one because Les Beasley of the "Florida Boy's" which hosted the show made the comment of Kenney not being an english teacher.
I see two dislikes for this song, who in their right mind wouldn't love this one. And as for the clothes someone stated they were heard to look at as for me i think they look fine.Thank you for sharing them with us.
Hello! This group always represented Jesus Christ so well. More people of today should be more Christlike. Thank you for sharing the video. They are a great looking group of young people. God Bless You, Gwen
I just love the Hinsons. Kenny is in Heaven and I know he would be so proud of Weston and Bo. This groupd has definately been touched by the Master's Hand.
@hiddencharges I believe her name is Chris Hawkins. I think she was with them for quite awhile. I think she still sings and you can find her on youtube Im pretty sure. She was with the HInsons when I first started listening to them sometime back in the 70s.
@hiddencharges I made a mistake. Someone pointed out that this is Yvonne. She is a sister of the Hinsons I guess and Chris took her place. Sorry for the mistake.
@clewi1091 actually that is Yvonne. Thats the original female in the group. All of them are family (brothers/sister). Chris actually took her place in the group.

O my goodness... i got this LP when I was about 15 from my dear Grandma... who is now passed... and I loved this song on the album!! This was awesome to hear! (by the way I'm 47 now!) Thank you!!
Ain't this what goin' to church is all about. Not todays performances and groups dressed in black performing on stage and getting rid of hymnals and using big screens. This song rings true.
U CAN GET THIS VIDEO AT THE GAITHERS WEBSITE THEY HAVE TWO DVDS OF THE HINSONS SINGING ON THE SINGING JUBILEE AN YVONNE WAS THERE OLDER SIS.KENNY JUST CALLED HER THAT I READ THIS IN THE BOOK HIS BROTHER LARRY WROTE ABOUT HIM U CAN GET IT AT LARRYS WEBSITE AN ALL THERE MUSIC ITS A VERY GOOD BOOK
I remember getting up Sunday mornings and while getting ready for church, gospel music would come on TV and I would run into the livingroom to hear my favorite group sing. This song by the Hinsons was definitely on my A list of songs to hear growing up!
Oh, those red suits. My eyes! My eyes! They're burning!
Weren't we all groovy? I hate to admit it, but I was sporting a pumpkin orange leisure suit when I was introduced to the Hinsons at the Natl'. Quartet Convention. (youch)
@richmonksgtr lol...I think that's forgivable; you weren't yet at the age of consent! I don't have any excuse; I was 17. But then, all the groups were in a trend. The women resembled something between Tammy Wynette and Farrah Fawcette and the guys kept polyester manufacturers in business for an extra decade...or two.
@TVWriterGuy ...although, I have to add, much of the music of that era is legendary. It was a key turning point in Gospel music.....the likes of which we may never see again.
The "Hinsons" have contributed to the propagation of the gospel through song and saw many souls saved...now aint that what its all about? Kenny now is with so many of the glorified souls in Glory that he had a part in winning to the Lord and Master over the years as his servant !
Yvonne was singing with the Freemans for a while now she is actually helping her brother Larry at his church. Ronnie still tours as a solo artist sometimes with Bo and the new bunch. He has written a ton of songs though he has quite a few on the charts right now.
I think your Talking Chris Hawkins who sang with the hinsons in the mid 70's to the early mid 80s then yvonne rejoined the hinsons in the 80's when Chris Hawkins Married Darrel Freeman and formed the Freemans.
Yvonne has never sung with the Freemans. The only time she and Chris Freeman sang together was when she left the group in 74 and when she came back in the 80's.
Yeah she helped fill in back in 08 is what i was told. But my information may not be good you know how southern gospel is. I am with Solid gospel radio and we hear a lot of stuff.
I think they all go to Southpoint Church in Millersville, TN where Bro. Larry Hinson is the Pastor. They're having a "Hinson Reunion" at the church on Jan 31st with Yvonne, Larry, Ronny, & Bo. I wiould LOVE to go but it's too far for me to travel.

What a great song, and a great group!
(But man, the outfits so many groups wore in the '70s are just painful to look at now! LOL)

This video really stirs the soul because you can see the sincerity in Kenny as he sings it!

Thanks to all who replied. If I was close enough to TN, I would go see them. I haven't found a voice singing Gospel with passion of Kenny.
I found a video of Weston Hinson, Kenny's son. He sounds so much like Kenny.
