@Wargoat6 I have to agree. If ever an album was completely awesome, this is the one. It was like they saved everything they had for this one compilation.
Strange, but the "most popular" song on this album, "Silent Lucidity", while a decent song, is my least favorite of the album. Somehow it just doesn't fit. Della Brown may be the best on the album.
@marketmogul agreed. it's like each album before had a certain sound and/or approach that was somewhat one-dimensional (don't get me wrong they were fantastic albums in their own right), but empire was like a greatest hits album. They were either in one heck of a zone (lightening in a bottle) when writing all of those songs, or perhaps some of them were already on the shelf from the past just waiting to be recorded.
Tates' vocals and DeGarmos' understanding of symphonic orchestral music stand alone. Operation Mindcrime was the first operatic metal. Tate sings with such passion and emotion. Nothing Pink Floyd, Rush or Dream Theater did can compare to Rage For Order or Operation Mindcrime! Queensryche crushed everyone then, and now!

Man i wish i could see these guys in concert. My parents saw them a couple years ago but i was to young to go :( They are way better than any other bands on the radio. QUEENSRYCHE RULES!!!!
@yasonb11 Too bad they don't play them on the radio much. I had to find them here on youtube. A video of their's was suggested to me by youtube. They are awesome.
Hi Xx, I saw the Ryche again Saturday night and when I looked at my last post on here I couldn't believe it has only been 6 months since the last concert. Girl, you need to move to New Mexico if you want to see QR more often. LOL, just kidding, hope you get to see them soon and as always, RYCHE ON! and thanks for posting MY song ; ). You are the only one on YT who has the studio version. You RYCHE!
Yo, XxBleedingEyes666xX , Thanks for putting Empire up here. Friday I called in to my local rock station & won tickets for a private Accoustic Show with a Q&A (don't worry, it'll be recorded for a national broadcast) & its also a listening party for the 20th Anniversary release of Empire! Never seen them live before. I'm totally amped for the show next week.
@TheTwittingTwit its np!!! i grew up listenin 2 them!! believe me, i seen them live, it is a honor 2 see them... u r very lucky, u will really enjoy it, ik u will!
I have loved this band since their first album. I must admit, when I first heard Queen of the Ryche, my first thought was, "WTF! The lead singer's voice is effin' amazing!" Dug up some info on the band and have been following them since about, "Promised Land".
The band really took a new direction with Mind Crime and of course the perfect follow up and crowning achievement, EMPIRE.
@808Monkseal i love queensryche!!! my dad's been playing them since i could remember!! this band is amazing!! i'm gunna post more ryche in a lil while. lol

This is what I call a perfect album. Not one bad track on it, and all of them could've gotten airplay.
