the yz125 is a fantastic bike and cost much less then the 250f to keep in top running shape
if you have $ to throw away then buy this bike it is not as hard to ride then a yz125 but you you want to have a bike that IS just as fast as a 250f and will cost 25c on the $1 to keep fresh then buy the yz125

i have an 06 and to be honest when riding in the woods with the stock sprokets it was always bogging on low end when riding in the twisty stuff that took manuvering at slower speeds. definatly have to gear it down, but leave the stock gearing for the track because this thing rules.
@Honda1785 off? dont take any off...you need to add teeth to the back id say add somewheres around 5 teeth but thats all preference...if you wanted to take teeth off you need to take them off of the front sprocket.

I have a CRF150R Expert right now. ill be training with my friend on that this spring to get ready for the 250. What people dont know about the 250 is that if you like getting out of corners with a snap then the 250 is what you want. you hitting the lows and mids out of corners and thats what 4 strokes love to hit.

u have to rebuild the bike, which means u just gotta replace the piston rings and stuff, it doesnt meen u have to by a new bike man other wise every one in this industry would be broke. hope it helped.
hey im 5'9'' 135 lbs and i am 15 years old. should i get a 250 2 stroke or 125 2 stroke. I just sold my other bike and i dont know what my new one should be.
the 2 stroke takes alot more skill to ride fast and gives you skill. not only that, its lightweight, and cheap to maintain. i would recommend a 125 unless you are very very experienced on a bike. i have not met a 15 year old that could outride a 125 though.
begginer or not? it doesnt really matter to me they are pretty much the same they have about the same power it is just that you might find better and more improved 4-strokes compared to 2-strokes. but it is just whichever one you want. it is alot cheaper to maintain a 2-stroke but 4-strokes are just wat i like better.
it all depends on what you like. they are about the same speed overall the 250f has a little bit more to it but mostly alike. i had a 125 and rode many 250fs. if you are looking to get a bike that you dont have to maintain alot get the 125. the 250fs are track bikes, you have to maintenance alot. its all what you like ride both and tell yourself what you like better

well 7thstreetdistrict i dont know about a 4 stroke cause ive never ridden one personally but i have ridden 2 strokes since i was 9 and im now 17 and i know for a fact that 2 strokes deffanatly have a power band. almost as soon as you get on the gas hard ( unlike you who clearly touches the throttle and get scared and backs off ) i mean twisting that throttle till it doesnt twist anny more you can deff tell that it has a power band. as soon as you get into the higher rpms it goes quick.
yamaha is not falling behind. you gotta ride the bike i got one last week and its got a kick ass powerban. nothing like a 2 stroke but it deff picks up right away. the throttle responce on it is fucking amazing.

most of the new stuff on the bike had honda from the start of making crf's,like the twin spar frame,tank that sits in the chassis..but still the bike looks sick!!!!

thats what i thought, but i looked on Suzuki's website and as of 2009 the RM-Z250 has a KEIHIN FCR37MXS carb... the 2010 model might be fuel injected but they havn't released it yet... correct me if im wrong...
dont get a ttr 230, those things are pigs, but also look into the crf230 or even the wr250f which is more of an enduro bike. you would have a ton of fun on the yz250f, lots of power for the woods

In my opinion, a 2011 yz125 is the best bike for its pricing. It's $1000 cheaper than the 250f. Plus its a 2 stroke!

if u want a faster bike for, cross country, baja racing, things when top speed makes a dif, you'd get the normal 250.

no the 250f is not fuel injectedt, but the 450f is and it has its own programmer which is sick.

most of the new stuff on the bike had honda from the start of making crf's,like the twin spar frame,tank that sits in the chassis..but still the bike looks sick!!!!

go to the kawi site dick. i own an 2009 kx 250f. in the specs it shows the same carb as being on the bike... keihen fcr37. not efi. you are a fucking idiot.

thats what i thought, but i looked on Suzuki's website and as of 2009 the RM-Z250 has a KEIHIN FCR37MXS carb... the 2010 model might be fuel injected but they havn't released it yet... correct me if im wrong...

get a honda 250x its a beast ttrs suk but dnt get a motocross bike for trail riding cuz they tend to over heat if they arent constantly moving

dont get a ttr 230, those things are pigs, but also look into the crf230 or even the wr250f which is more of an enduro bike. you would have a ton of fun on the yz250f, lots of power for the woods

get a 250f, ttr 230 are really only for trail, plus they are really heavy. You will have much more fun riding a 250f.

ya know i always here ppl talking about how the yz250f doesnt have that much power. come on you must not know how to ride it because i have no problem kicking everyone's ass off the line, in straights, and corners and my bike is stock except for a few extra teeth on the back sprocket. even if i get a little wobbly it still has enough grunt for me to set up for any jump at the track i ride at. i love the power.

if u ask me the 2006-2009 yzs were the best i own a 2000. looks to old.. my 2005 yz250 looks great i love that modle looking. and my 2008 yz250f if u ask me it looks the best.
this year it looks like yamaha copied KTM but made it blue lol
