@djschnabel I have a 03 250 hawk. this is my first bike and i didnt know how to ride just knew how to drive it like a stick shift car kinda.hopped on and its the easy thing to ride.hope you get one and be SAFE.
This is probably a funny sounding question, but what's your inseam?
I'm taking the Beginner Rider Course in about a month, and am really interested in getting an NH 750 after I do. I only have a 30" inseam though and am worried I won't be able to reach the ground when in the saddle as easily as you do in the video.
I am 5'10", and I wear 32" inseams, they are a tad long, but not too bad. I would suggest finding someone you know w/ a bike that has the similar seat height, and then try theirs out. This one is pretty common, 30-31", and I believe that you can actually slightly modify the rear spring, which may or may not lower the seat height, although if so, slightly.
Thanks for the information! I took your advice, and ended up buying a '93 Nighthawk 750 much like yours earlier today. It's a little bigger than I expected, but nothing that I can't get used to.

I got a 2002 Nighthawk CB750 about a month ago almost identical except mines all stock..I've been doing some research for a while and when I ran across mine, well lets say it was love at first ride, these truley are awesome rides.I've put about 700 miles on it in the 3 weeks i've had my learners permit and some people say the Nighthawk is too smooth,so its too boring, these people dont know what their missing.Im gonna put some videos of my bike on sometime in the future...Awesome Bike!!!
@sk84fun218 If they still made them, I would run out and buy a new one. I STRONGLY recommend them to new riders, and riders who may have been away for a while.
@localdu drive locally, until you know the bike like it's your leg. Most people seem to think balance is the toughest thing to learn, but it's not. Balance is not an issue (until the turns come). The thing to learn is where the controls are so you don't have to take your eyes off the horizon. I drove a pos bike for 2 years, in 1 mile trips, until I could afford/found this bike. Granted, don't drive for two years, in one mile trips, but you get my point. I knew where everything was.
That's a nice bike. You did a lot better for yourself getting this rather than a single cylinder Buell Blast. I've heard some really bad stuff about Buell....and a few years back they had a few class action law suites against them. You got a way better bike....I'm jealous! How many miles?
just over 14,000 miles now. Unfortunately, I was putting it in my shed, and put a good sized dent in the gas tank. Doh! It's in too good of shape to leave as is... off to the body shop. Thanks for your post BTW, I was telling my wife the exact things you said, when I bought the bike. I made sure I showed her your support.
The Vance and Hines 4-to-1 exhaust can be found for about 304 bucks at cheapcycleparts. Click on aftermarket parts. Specify make, model, year and exhaust for product category. Sry site doesn't give a direct link, nice CB Dj...
I bought Mine for $700 but it got knocked over in a parking lot. Tank dings, bent handlebars (right side) needs a new blinker same side ;) and two fins got knocked off the motor (dime sized off the tip of the corner).... fixed it all in about two weekends start to finish.
I just sold my 91 Hawk 750. Bought the bike with 26000 miles on it, made a few upgrades, sold it with 35000 miles on it. Only had it for 9 months :) Those really are some great bikes. Good choice.
thats cool man almost exactly looks like my 95' hawk i was lucky and got a royal blue one. i dont know if you guys know or not but thats the rarest collor of them all it sounds and looks almost like a newer crotch rocket..i love it and only baught it for 1,500 hunded with 8,000 miles on it...it was a bargan. im thinkin about re-selling to someone in my town for 4,000 though i dont know if i should keep it or not i love it but 2500$ sounds good to
I was originally going to buy a Buell Blast for myself and my wife, since this was our first bike, but I couldn't pass it up ($2299 was my price).
I'm still hoping that in 2-3 years to sell and not lose any money, I'm trying to coax my brother to purchase it, when you find something trusty, you want to keep it in the family.
Vance and Hines. Trust me! I have a '93 with a V&H exhaust and it rocks! Looks great and sounds wicked. When I crank down on the throttle it wakes the neighbors! I'm not sure where you can order though...
i used to have a vance and hines on my 92 and it was pretty good, but i traded up to a supertrapp super light and actually noticed more of a power difference between the supertrapp and the vance and hines than between the vance and hines and the stock system. jet your carbs first :)
does the exhaut giv the bike more power?

Sounds like a sport bike. I guess it's not a V-twin. I bet its faster than V-twins in its class though.

What kind of exhaust did you install? I've looked around for pipes but hardly anyone makes them for the 750.

I purchased the bike w/ the exhause installed, but its a Yoshimura (I can't find the model #, it's put away for the winter)
