Then do some research on google on how to snipe, one of the benefits of having realism is that you can apply real world knowledge. Dont worry about the Kestrel for now, that is for experienced users, learn the basic ballistics with an iron sight, forget sniping if you are asking these questions. Adjust left and right to compensate for wind using the panel, up ad down for distance.

Normally, it helps to read the readme/documentation... this would tell you, by standard the radio commands were disabled to speed up AI commanding and that this could be disabled if you so chose.

I'm having a new problem, I was trying out the AH-64 apache from the 1.05 update and it appears that I can't lock on the vehicles with the maverick...

I mean, I do get a box and the diamond around it, but when I fire, it keeps missing :s

And if I command my gunner to fire it, it just goes straight ...

I had some trouble installing the mod, the compressed files i downloaded ( called ACE, ACEX and CBA) contained GZ files. Does anyone know what these are and where they should be put. Cuz my other mods mostly contained besign and pbo. files.

Actually if you want to play on high settings then a good graphics card is equally important. I can push my overclocked 5870 beyond its limits with this game no problem, and the 5870 has the best performance on Arma 2 of any card on the planet. Most people don't understand how to optimise the settings properly, and disregard the '3D-resolution' option, which has a bigger impact on game-detail and FPS than any other setting. (at 200% + AA + AF + Very high-best graphics I have ever seen in a game)

what ur running is overkill for most games ur im guessing a serious gamer.. u dont need a 5870 overclocked to run this game at max a GTX 260 could easily do that as long as ur other stuff can keep up. also ur 5870 wouldn't do much if lets say u had 1gb ram an 1.8ghz dual core.. so thats why i say the card isnt that important. but it all depends on the game too maybe for ArmA2 the card is but for lets say GTAIV the RAM an CPU are of utmost importance.

It isn't, if it was able to run on max without trouble then there would be no big FPS drop between settings. The gtx260 is only suitable for running this on 'high' settings with 3d-Res at 100% at 1280x1024, anything beyond that and it cries. I'm running with a phenom x3 and 4gb Ram, processor due for upgrade to an i7 in a few months.

Thats just what I said, the GTX260 is fine for playing it at 'high' settings, but there is an absolutely enormous jump in the processing power needed between the resolution you run it at, and 'max' settings. The game looks great on high but if you are a serious enough gamer to want to buy the best components, you will be rewarded with the best graphics you can get out of a game today. If you play at 1280x1024, and then set 3dResolution to 200%, your gpu is rendering at 2560x2048 even on a 17"er.

you go to the radar, and with "F", you can scrol your weapons. Select Satchel charges and place one on the ground. then go to safe distance, scroll mouse wheel a bit, and select "Touch off 1 bomb" :P

in the standard keyboard setup For ArmA2, you can browse between gun, grenades, AND satchels if you have some. you can ALSO use action menu to place satchel and timer to it

Play through the training missions and bootcamp first. This is probably the most complex game you can get for PC so not a great one to start with, but keep at it, if you are a patient and mature gamer you will find it very rewarding when you are good enough to play online. C4 - place it using the action menu, move at least 100m away from it and make sure your men are away from it too, then use the action menu option "Touch off satchel" to detonate the C4. You can also set a timer, but don't.

This mod probably wont boost FPS, ACE final just coincided with Arma 1.16, which is when it got a big FPS boost, some people assume it was ace but it wasnt, although ACE did help servers FPS. FPS will get better as patches come out and new drivers, I bet that in 6 months time it will run at least 25% better than it does now.
