Very good sound your getting, do you find the thumb plik is the only way to get the sound right?

Hi there , asyou will see from the start of the video Im not using a thumb pik. I just get the sound from using my fingers and always good strings. I have tried the Pik but i find it makes the bass strings to loud. I use the side of my thumb.

Obviously, you have borrowed some of the parts from Tommy Emmanuel's version. Please, at least cite a reference to him not just claim that it totally your interpretation of Classical Gas.

Fair comment. I thought it was obvious that this was inspired by Tommys version but as you can see i have put version on the title. Its a s near to his version that i could get and its not easy. Credit where credit is due.

How can you honestly replicate Tommy Emmanuels version of Classical Gas and call it your own? With the intonation, rhythm, and percussive bit almost identical to his, I think you should pay credit where it's due.

Thanks ,Your right this is a difficult tune and requires alot of practice to get it even near right. I think interprating a classic is taking a chance but thats what makes us individuals.Thank you for watching.

The sound is too cluttered and I don't like the arrangement. The original, performed by Mason Williams, shouldn't be tampered with, it is indeed a classic.. After all, why try and fix something that isn't broken? Thanks for your effort but back to the 'drawing board' methinks. Stay loose and live the peace

Well, there you did it again. 5***** and thanks. By the way, I play a 25 year old Taylor and I've got my eye on one of the new models with a little wider neck, cutaway and their CE system. Sounds very good. Do you know anything about them. Would love to be able to compare them side by side with the Maton but that's not possible. What's your take on Taylor's electronics?

Thanks Lance.The Models with the expression system are the ones to go for.This is an excellent pickup. The others are good guitars but I found the neck very narrow and the pickups very poor.These are expensive compared to the Maton i use . £800. in London.

Thanks Peter. That's helpful. The Taylor I'm looking at has the expression system. It's about $1800. I like the width of the neck but I'm going to look into the Maton a little further.

Thanks, yeah your right. The maton pickup is head and shoulders above the rest.The most natural that Ive heard. The Guitar is excellent and really well made.

Here in Canada we have Schatten Design which makes great pickups as well, but I find the fullness of the Maton hard to match. I feel if Tommy Emmanuel can get by with a Maton, I would be able to as well - lol.
