Ya i agree with the previous commenter...there must something that i don't understand about the arm helping to balance and make judgements about the ball...ok if the balance part is more or less understandable the ball judgement is a total secret for me ...could u pls expand on that a little bit?
The left arm can also be used to measure the distance of the ball from the body try keeping the ball two feet in front of your left hand and begin starting your swing at the moment. i hope that helps.
If you have something definitive to help you measure the relative distance of the ball away from you in that giant mass of empty space you have to deal with, it becomes much more easy to coordinate your arm and racket to hit the ball. It's part of the reason why beginners can miss so much and get jammed all the time. If you know where your body should be in relation to the ball, your feet will move more to get in position.
Also, it helps with shoulder rotation, which gives you a lot of pop.
All I can say is for an eastern you try to hit the ball before it comes behind that left arm. Hit out in front of the left arm to get a better contact point is what ive been told

Right 1st thing dude shut the fuck up, your chatting shit.
Next: NO PRO PLAYER TAKES THEIR RACQUET BACK EARLY!!!
They track the ball out in front and only make a loop when the ball bounces.
Once the ball has bounced they then count 1 on the bounce 5 on the hit, watch pro's play and learn DICKHEAD!!!!

+1 just for being able to incorporate "giant mass of empty space" into a sentence about tennis xD

arch,
Ya this is a topspin forehand. The spin will pull the ball down faster than a flat forehand, giving you more control.

@FYB2007 I thought will is right handed, is he not?
swiftlyfadedeath 6 months ago
does this create like top spin? so the ball goes down

Sopez,
He's adjusting his feet. Unfortunately, my feeds weren't perfect so he had to move slightly to get set. But I've been practicing :)
