It shouldn't have been much of a budget film in the first place. Seeing as all of this footage was the REAL footage that the couple took, all the producers had to do was take the clips, put them together, then mass produce it. Most of the money went into distributing it, in my opinion.

OH MY GOD CLASSIC Movies from John Carpenter, Stephen Kings, Wes Craven, Tobe Hooper, Neil Marshall and so on.. can never be touched or compared with so NEW Faggot SHIT !!! These Horror Classics have better, Music, Sounds, story, actors, suspense and special effects and was already produced with low Budget Costs. .

Have you seen the movie? I haven't. I'm taken with people's reactions though. It would appear that it plays on imagination very strongly which all the old classics did. One of the scariest movies I watched as a kid was the old b/w Night of the Demon and again it wasn't because of what you can see, but what you can't see. I must admit that outright gore doesn't frighten me, but unexplained stuff can. I still think original Japanese films hold the ace for horror movies though.
