After every time I see this film I'm crying so much and realize that the time the film was played out in never comes back. My childhood from the 90's coming up and reminds me of how lovely and fun I had at that time, my parents sat on the soundtrack album from this movie and much more lovely music from the 80s & 90's that you thought was so damn good . What makes me most sad that those days will never come back ...

Kevin Costner is awesome. Bodyguard, robin hood and dancing with wolves are some of my favourite films of all time. So much better than what passes for entertainment today. So much more talented than Johnny Depps and I'd prefer any day what was supposedly seen as a "bad film", robin hood prince of thieves, to a crappy CGI fest Tony Scott movie or 90% of what comes out of hollywood right now.

@WildBill6942 I agree with you 100% I mean with all those wonderful books out there. I mean a book full of new ideas a book ready to be made into a film. So basically they are telling the people they cant read just one book that doesnt have a movie already made about it. All I can say is lack of imagination these days.
@WildBill6942 No joke, I was in a film class where they taught us how the industry works. There are like 6 categories of movies which get rehashed each year, writers are much cheaper and they can make an easier profit on the consumers, not to mention it exists to advertise music artists as well.
@GashisDX -- I studied film and screenwriting as well and heard the same exact thing. It's one thing to rehash the same genres but to remake (or as they call it reimagine) movies at the pace they are, some not even 20 years old yet (i.e. The Crow) is ridiculous. Hollywood continually says it welcomes new writers but in reality it's a closed door, good 'ole boy network of money hungry cutthroats who were probably still in diapers when The Bodyguard was still in theaters.
@GashisDX - I totally agree. That's what killed the music industry. Granted there are a few artists out there that are descent if you know where to look, however mainstream music is complete garbage run by industry exec's out of touch with consumers. Think of it... music typically makes a big turn every 10 years (i.e. rock, disco, new wave, rap, etc.) Grunge was the last real major change in music and that was 20 years ago! Since then it's been nothing but Brittany-styled music. Very sad.

What the hell happened to Kevin Costner? He was one of the 90th century's greatest actor, and now today in 2011, he is not even with hardly any film. If you ask me it is a scandal. Kevin and Whitney was perfect for this role, there is no talk about, and no one will ever be able to reclaim their roles if there is another version of this.

So basically they are telling the people they cant read just one book that doesnt have a movie already made about it. All I can say is lack of imagination these days.

@WildBill6942 No joke, I was in a film class where they taught us how the industry works. There are like 6 categories of movies which get rehashed each year, writers are much cheaper and they can make an easier profit on the consumers, not to mention it exists to advertise music artists as well.

@GashisDX -- I studied film and screenwriting as well and heard the same exact thing. It's one thing to rehash the same genres but to remake (or as they call it reimagine) movies at the pace they are, some not even 20 years old yet (i.e. The Crow) is ridiculous. Hollywood continually says it welcomes new writers but in reality it's a closed door, good 'ole boy network of money hungry cutthroats who were probably still in diapers when The Bodyguard was still in theaters.

@GashisDX - I totally agree. That's what killed the music industry. Granted there are a few artists out there that are descent if you know where to look, however mainstream music is complete garbage run by industry exec's out of touch with consumers. Think of it... music typically makes a big turn every 10 years (i.e. rock, disco, new wave, rap, etc.) Grunge was the last real major change in music and that was 20 years ago! Since then it's been nothing but Brittany-styled music. Very sad.
