@dk2853 I have owned my father's WWII issue 1911 for 27 years now and am very familiar with the point-shoot method. Maybe you should try it for yourself before you go on preaching about dumb shit you see on youtube.
@chompmyclit This is not "dumb shit" my friend, but is actually a well-understood design flaw of the 1911. You can point shoot all you want, but when your gun jams you'll understand the old familiar rule of "never point shoot a 1911".
Did you even read what I posted? That didn't come from youtube but actually an independent website dedicated to the 1911. They are enthusiasts that love this gun, and they still admit it shouldn't be point shot. This could save your life one day, remember it
WHAT 13 shells?> I use to own two and I only remember 6 and 1in not 13? Are you talking about an extended mag? Or some sort of modification to the width of the handle/grip? I dont understand the 13 at all? Course, theres the break down pin that points out on the right side and I have read about those getting shoved in by accident when in a close gun fight causing a jam when using a point and shoot method. Course Ive also see where that pin was shaved off as well as a slide pin bar added.
my Sergeant Major said it the best..."a hundred years ago it was state of the art, and now it is still one of the most preferred pistols by anyone who knows anything about guns, if that doesnt say something about the 1911 nothing does....and thats why i own 4 of them"

GLOCK OR NOT FORM FOLLOWS FUNCTION AS LONG AS IT GETS THE JOB DONE.
WHAT I DON'T LIKE ABOUT GLOCK IS THAT YOU HAVE A LIVE ROUND IN CHAMBER. DOESN'T SEEM THE SAME AS A REVOLVER OR AS SAFE. A SIG P-220 IS DOUBLE ACTION. I HAVE HEARD POLICE HAVE SHOT THEMSELVES WITH THEIR OWN GLOCKS AS THEY MUST HAVE ONE IN THE CHAMBER TO BE READY IN THEIR SITUATION.
This is a perfect example of what to expect in this forum. Try books ladies and gentlemen for real knowledge. Read, then consult an expert. Try the author of the book to start with. This video should help you to decide if the individual who took the time to produce it has a clue.
Comment isnt mean for the maker of the video. Other than the poorly done humor. Its meant for those who actually think this stuff for real. If you cant shoot a 1911, which many use for competitive shooting comoetitions, then you either waster your money on the cheapest one out there, or you cant shoot. Glocks have failures too. Thing is when a glock fails, its normally something bad. Stop limp wristing your 1911s, keep them clean and lubed and use decent mags and ammo. Know your gun people.
This is just a sad attempt at humor. If you need 17 shots to hit your target, then you need to learn to shoot. I have a 6 shot 357 revolver and never have a situation where i cant hit the target both fast and accurately. Learn to shoot your weapon with less shots. And if that gun is too heavy for your puny self, then hit the gym. Sissy
I will never understand why some retards hate on a certain type of gun. If it's reliable and it shoots, who gives a flying fuck about how it looks? These must be the gun owners with the tiny dicks, who defend their stupid handguns with their lives. I am very happy with both my cock and my gun, so I have no urge to post shitty videos to Youtube whining about a gun I don't like as much as another, even if both work well.
@antwat904 I DON'T UNDERSTAND THE FOLLOWING FOR THE 1911. CAN YOU EXPLAIN IT TO ME? I HAVE I HEARD IT IS OUTDATED AND THE SINGLE ACTION ONLY IS A POOR DESIGN. SOMETHING LIKE A SIG P-220 WHERE YOU CAN HAVE A ROUND IN THE CHAMBER IS BETTER AND IT IS BOTH SINGLE ACTION AND DOUBLE LIKE A REVOLVER READY TO SHOOTWHEREAS THE 1911 IS ONLY SINGLE ACTION.
@Landoftheignorant 40= more recoil than the 9mm and not as manageable recoil as a 45 IMO.. Not the best of both worlds. A good compromise maybe. I have all 3 and wouldn't feel underfunded with any of them.. 5.7 is a wicked round too...Caliber wars are hella dumb because no handgun has real stopping power like a nunchucks :p.
@ashackatak LOL @ the nunchucks. When it comes to recoil it really depends on the gun. With the all popular s&w sigma as the control, the subcompact XD40 had more felt recoil with the higher barrel profile, while the glock 23 had less felt recoil than both. My PF9 has more recoil than all 3 and my buddies M&P9(love it!) had less recoil than the previous 4. The recoil debate is mute as gun profile is more of a factor imo. But 9mm is cheaper, more in mag, and has killed more than 40 & 45! Winner!!
@microminiskirt because a lot of them feel that a 9mm lacks adequate stopping power (debatable) and that the .45 is just too much to handle for women or smaller men (also debatable) so they feel that the .40 is a good compromise. My point, .40s are snappy and harder to re index the sights with. (a semi-heavy and large bullet with a hot load===high velocity causes this). Makes sense why I and most other people shoot the other calibers better. However, I prefer the .45 over the 9mm
@microminiskirt just because the cops do it, doesn't mean its the best choice for you. A lot of cops carry glocks, Doesn't mean a Glock its the pistol to get. They used to carry 6 shooters as well, do you favor wheel guns? On a side note, the Detroit Police Department just replaced their Glock 22s with Smith and Wesson M&P40s. Now I liked the M&P before they made the switch...and I think they made the right choice.
@Alexn1067 I have a friend who's a cop. He carried a 9mm for awhile, but he always liked the double-action .357 S&W's they were issued better. More power and .357 is pretty controllable.
@Alexn1067 .40 has a sharper recoil - especially in a lighter gun like a Glock, so the controllability isn't there as much as the .45 or the 9mm. .45 has more recoil, but the recoil duration is not as short, therefore the round doesn't feel snappy like .40.
10mm Auto IMO is still a better choice than .40. If power in a smaller round than .45 is what someone wants, 10mm is a great choice. It's near .41 Magnum in power.
@Landoftheignorant no round is better than any other, every round on earth has killed someone, It is all about shot placement, I can kill you with a 22 just as easy as a 45 if I know how to shoot worth a shit. also there is no gun that is better than the other, Do you think that round gives a flying fuck what trigger set it off or what name is on the slide? they will all kill just the same and nothing is better than anything. what works for you personaly is best for you alone
@Landoftheignorant That's not necessarily true. They DO make .45ACP +P which approaches the low end of 10mm velocity. 1225 fps on the Corbon Pow-R-Ball 165gr +P.
A hundred years down the road and we continue to use 1911 model 45's..mind you I have two Glocks I use for work, they're a joy to shoot, very reliable in all environmental conditions and fantastic in a pinch, mind you that isn't to say that a 1911 isn't. Twelve years in the Marine Corps with a 1911 strapped to my gear made a believer out of me. She's old but she still packs a punch.
Choosing the right caliber is like selecting a wrench. You need the right one for the job. Think of a 9mm as a baseball and a .45 as a brick. Which one can you throw faster? Which one has more inertia? Which one penetrates easier? Which one gives you greater magazine capacity? If you have ever fired a Colt 632 or 634 (sub-gun), you know how smooth and accurate it is in 9mm. I loved it and could hit anything in the room with it. But I also love my Colt OACP 1911 and would never give it up.
Tupperware is right. We had to send back probably 2 dozen lower receivers to Glock due to fractures at the forward end near the serial number. Some split right down the middle. Our department has a crap load of guns now with 2 serial numbers because of it. Glocks are cheap and easy, but a 1911 makes a statement about what quality of design is. Now DAO's are much easier to carry, and they are safer for duty work, but I am not going back to polymer for my personal.
kind of a funny video but I sure wouldn't call glock tupperware as polymer is stronger than steel. also comparing a 1911 to a cadi and downgrading a glock to a freakin honda?? the glock would be like your big plain looking tough as a motherfucker mercedes g wagon. but i think the simplicity of the glock and how it stands out make it one of the best looking. i like 1911s too but far less. g21 has far less recoil and felt shock in my opinion. more reliable with various types of ammo too.
Ok... So I've gathered that this guy's vid is loaded with sarcasm! My bad! I'm still right with all I said, just not directed at this guy anymore. Lol!!!
Crap huh? Stand in front of one sometime chief. It's a classic that is still readily capable of ruining the day of anyone who's standing in front of it. Not hi-tech...and? If you need all the latest gun tech out there to hit a target or go "gangsta" on anyone then you suck at guns, shooting, and while we're at it, life. As for the mag cap, if you can't get the job done with one bullet, then you just need to go lie down and forget it... It's called "shot placement". Seriously, if it takes you a
I get it, you were joking, cool. I love my 1911's and I do really get it that you were joking. What is funny is to see the others comments. Thanks for the laugh, BTW I have a 'Built" 1911 that is a older style Para P-14 (frame) mated to a Colt Series 80 Stainless Slide. The 1911 will hold 15 in the Mag and 1 in the tube of 230gr of pure 'whoop ass' It is by far my favorite 1911, the only thing I had to do was fix someones slide stop 'fix' and swap out the Para mag springs with wolff springs. Thx
@Mybankerbob No augument here, thats why I like the .45ACP. I have several different caliber weapons including the 9mm. I like the 9mm for the shooting cost per round. I carry either my 1911's or my .40 S&W Ruger SR40C if I am in shorts in the summer. I would carry my SIG SP2022 with 9mm hollow points and would feel well armed. As far as shot placement goes, I learned from a Marine, the smaller caliber will mean a critical shot placement, the larger calibers are more forgiving.
@ldgrey1963 Sir: Thank you for the reply, I do not normally reply to this type of thing...but this video just had me going.
Anyone from the Mother Green knows what you really need, and therefore makes a good teacher.
My P220 has never, ever let me down. We used the German 228 then we were given the 226, but allowed ourselves to carry the 220 for very good reason. I think it is one of the finer firearms available today.
@ldgrey1963 Sir: I thank the Germans for making Sigs. A lot of guys now carry Glocks..they like the extended mags and full auto, but they don't take the environment as well. Many of my Ranger friends carry SA TRP's..bought with their own paychecks...and stole our ammo. My Remington Rand, late 1945, has also never had a stovepipe and will operate under any conditions, and I can use it like pointing a finger...so it's the best chest carry back up.
@Mybankerbob Thank you for your service. I am the proud owner of 2 Sigs, I have a P226 chambered in .40 S&W and the SigPro SP2022 chambered in 9mm. I like these 2 Sigs, but I favor my 1911's (a Colt lightweight Commander and the Para/Colt HI-Cap 1911). I do plan to try to find a WWII era 1911, My Dad served in the NAVY in WWII, I served in peacetime in the USAF, but my heart goes out the the COMBAT VETS...
My dad was in the Pacific, WWII almost 4 years...front line.. Army infantry..started a private, come out a 2nd Lt. He stayed in 32 years..18mos Korea and two tours in Nam retired a full bull Col. His chest carry: SW 1917 and he kept a RR,one in the camber, belt side at all times. He taught me the shoot. I think we went to the range before I had a bike to ride. He also told me to go Navy and..to shoot first, explain later...cause you are alive to do so. Both were good advice.
If and when you need to put the other guy down before he does you, then the 45cal is the only sure way to go. He can have plate on and you will still be able to look down into his eyes before you shut them for him with your second round.
I do love this country, and have pledged to protect it, my teammates as well as my family. I think I have done a fair job so far.
I wish you best regards in doing the some. My advise, use a 45.
@Mybankerbob I had the chance to go to the USS Alabama (twice) both instances were memorable, I plan to go back. I took over 2 gigs of photos of the 'BAMA the last time I saw her. I spent so much time on her I was not able to visit the BATFISH. I have a special place for all military even the USMC (just kidding, Marines). I thank all who have served for our freedom. GOD Bless the USA and our Military.
at least you can fucking kill a guy! you use that if you werent so fucking retarded peace of shit!!!!!!!!!!!!! ya the motherfucker can keep his fucking shit together!!!!!!!!!
well think of it a 1911 is over 100 yearsand pistols have changed alot since then and 1911s my rust but the glocks frame is made of plastic which will break if dropped. plus u can wack something with 1911 and since is made of solid materials which it will not break if u were to do that with the glock it would not hurt as much because its cheap ass plastic and not derable
I find the 1911's uncofortable to carry while driving. The pistol digs into my side, in particular the hammer, a problem I don't experience with my Glock 19. Any suggestions on carrying concealed, I prefer outside the waistband and use Galco's open top pancake holsters. My 1911's are a Kimber stainless ultra carry, a pro carry hd 2, and a crimson carry, I find all dig into my side the same way, how do you carry your 1911?
well, today i have to agree with all of that except for the john browning insult lol. todays steel is not up to par with what used to be used. gun makers are finding faster cheaper ways to make steel for the guns they produce. sad, that money is worth more to them then the stuff they are making. DO YOU HEAR ME BILL RUGER????????? you stuff is crap compared to what you use to make.
1911 is my fav handgun, and I shoot my colt combat commander almost daily, but if I had to go to war tomorrow my glock would be on my side. Sorry but the glock would be the pistol I would MOST trust my life with... Not the only, but the most.
Several comments down, and this is my last one. understanding the main intent of this video was Sarcasm. Here is a very simple test. which is the better "hammer"? For argument sake two guys with Parkinsons get into a gun fight and miss every bullet. One has a Glock the other has a 1911 how many skulls will they bash in with their flailing and still walk/stumble out with a working gun. nothing against Parkinsons patients but this is an unlikely scenario
@Keichwoud357 who the fuck doesnt. sure The M16 is More accurate, lighter and fell good. But that doesnt matter when a guy is 50yrds away shooting at you and you cant fire back because your M16 has jammed up.I know ar15 lovers say that if you clean them they will work. but when i was in afghanistan... they were jamming even after we cleaned them.
@4everUSNavy I can run over 1000 rounds through my M&P 15 at the range without cleaning it and it runs flawlessly...I had a Colt AR15 that was just as reliable. I see guys at the range having trouble with their AKs all the time. There is a vid here on YT where a guy buries an AR and an AK in the dirt and sand and then picks them both up, shakes them off and attempts to fire them...the AR emptied the mag every time and the AK jammed every time. Check it out.
@Keichwoud357 Ak is a good weapon, considering it was fielded before the M16. granted it looks like the "wing mans prom date" its also the same system that went into the dragunov, AK 74, and the Saiga 12. Of course the AR platform has gotten better, but still a long way from its original "The gun that never needs cleaning" statement
@Keichwoud357 AKs are junk. I see them malfunctioning much more often at the range than ARs. Plus they are not even close to being as accurate as an AR. The barrel flexes on an AK as it fires, making it much less accurate. Dont believe the hype, the AR is the better weapon by far. Ask any expert or war vet and they will tell you to go with an AR. AKs are used so frequently around the world for one reason...and that is because it is cheaper to obtain. Ak is not as reliable as AR.
@RodStrickland01 My point is do not mock that wonerful firearms legend of a handgun it has seen war for over 100 years and still exceeds standards of other handguns the puny ploymer pissy glock cannot compare to the superior colt .45 1911 any 9mm is a mere childs toy. who needs a 9mm when a .45 can instantly kill you? no need for 16 rounds 7 is enough for me your grandpa would much agree with me because im sure he carried one
@mw3L3GITSniper Dude, I was just kidding bro. I have a 9mm Glock, but I'm shopping for a .45 too. I don't see anything wrong with a 9mm or 1911, personally.
@Keichwoud357 Actually id rather get shot with a .45 acp a nine mil would be a long and painful death a high caliber like the fortyfive would be quick and easy(er), Id choose that.
@mw3L3GITSniper I know you're all about making stupid comments on stupid videos, but if you seriously think a 9mm bullet can't put you down, go to your local range and let anyone put 6 in your chest.
@TheFargoh Im making these comments because how can someone diss such a wonderful weapon? the 1911 is over 100 years old and still puts people to eternal rest. the 9mm is OKAY but for a man stopping weapon id prefer the .45 over the 9mil just because you only need one to the chest to put them to bed the 9mm is more of a speed round
@mw3L3GITSniper The military uses 9mm rounds because they trust them to put down anyone running their way, it's also the choice of police officers, competition shooters, small game hunters, and other gun enthusiasts.
You can't judge someone on what bullet they shoot, that's ludicrous.
2 38 Supers do very well.
45...just hate it when I get the "Waaack" on the forehead?

@ashackatak Haha, damn predictive text. I feel underfunded all day long. I meant undergunned.
ashackatak 3 weeks ago
@Landoftheignorant 40= more recoil than the 9mm and not as manageable recoil as a 45 IMO.. Not the best of both worlds. A good compromise maybe. I have all 3 and wouldn't feel underfunded with any of them.. 5.7 is a wicked round too...Caliber wars are hella dumb because no handgun has real stopping power like a nunchucks :p.
ashackatak 3 weeks ago
@ashackatak LOL @ the nunchucks. When it comes to recoil it really depends on the gun. With the all popular s&w sigma as the control, the subcompact XD40 had more felt recoil with the higher barrel profile, while the glock 23 had less felt recoil than both. My PF9 has more recoil than all 3 and my buddies M&P9(love it!) had less recoil than the previous 4. The recoil debate is mute as gun profile is more of a factor imo. But 9mm is cheaper, more in mag, and has killed more than 40 & 45! Winner!!
ThatDudeSirraj 3 weeks ago
@ashackatak .40 cal. can do everything a 9mm can do and more. The .40 has the worst sharpest recoil over both .45 ACP and 9MM.
microminiskirt 1 week ago
@microminiskirt I would take either a 9mm or a .45 over a .40 for the simple fact that they shoot better.
Alexn1067 1 week ago
@Alexn1067 Why then is the .40 Cal. the choice now for the majority of police depts?
microminiskirt 1 week ago
@microminiskirt because a lot of them feel that a 9mm lacks adequate stopping power (debatable) and that the .45 is just too much to handle for women or smaller men (also debatable) so they feel that the .40 is a good compromise. My point, .40s are snappy and harder to re index the sights with. (a semi-heavy and large bullet with a hot load===high velocity causes this). Makes sense why I and most other people shoot the other calibers better. However, I prefer the .45 over the 9mm
Alexn1067 1 week ago
@microminiskirt just because the cops do it, doesn't mean its the best choice for you. A lot of cops carry glocks, Doesn't mean a Glock its the pistol to get. They used to carry 6 shooters as well, do you favor wheel guns? On a side note, the Detroit Police Department just replaced their Glock 22s with Smith and Wesson M&P40s. Now I liked the M&P before they made the switch...and I think they made the right choice.
Alexn1067 1 week ago
@Alexn1067 I have a friend who's a cop. He carried a 9mm for awhile, but he always liked the double-action .357 S&W's they were issued better. More power and .357 is pretty controllable.
xhogger129x 1 week ago
@Alexn1067 .40 has a sharper recoil - especially in a lighter gun like a Glock, so the controllability isn't there as much as the .45 or the 9mm. .45 has more recoil, but the recoil duration is not as short, therefore the round doesn't feel snappy like .40.
10mm Auto IMO is still a better choice than .40. If power in a smaller round than .45 is what someone wants, 10mm is a great choice. It's near .41 Magnum in power.
xhogger129x 1 week ago
9mm=All velocity, no punch. 45=All punch, no velocity. 40= Best of both worlds. With that said, I would still pack a 45 over a 9mm.
Landoftheignorant 3 weeks ago
@Landoftheignorant no round is better than any other, every round on earth has killed someone, It is all about shot placement, I can kill you with a 22 just as easy as a 45 if I know how to shoot worth a shit. also there is no gun that is better than the other, Do you think that round gives a flying fuck what trigger set it off or what name is on the slide? they will all kill just the same and nothing is better than anything. what works for you personaly is best for you alone
mattc1683 3 weeks ago

Now DAO's are much easier to carry, and they are safer for duty work, but I am not going back to polymer for my personal.
pnp4041 3 weeks ago
@pnp4041 1911s aren't without their problems too, but personally Glock is shitty as far as CS goes. Kimber is too.
I would buy all Springfields. XDs, XDm's, 1911s, M1-A's. I think the only gun I have that ISNT a Springfield is my Remington 700.
xhogger129x 1 week ago
kind of a funny video but I sure wouldn't call glock tupperware as polymer is stronger than steel. also comparing a 1911 to a cadi and downgrading a glock to a freakin honda?? the glock would be like your big plain looking tough as a motherfucker mercedes g wagon. but i think the simplicity of the glock and how it stands out make it one of the best looking. i like 1911s too but far less. g21 has far less recoil and felt shock in my opinion. more reliable with various types of ammo too.

Mybankerbob 3 weeks ago
@ldgrey1963 Sir: I thank the Germans for making Sigs. A lot of guys now carry Glocks..they like the extended mags and full auto, but they don't take the environment as well. Many of my Ranger friends carry SA TRP's..bought with their own paychecks...and stole our ammo. My Remington Rand, late 1945, has also never had a stovepipe and will operate under any conditions, and I can use it like pointing a finger...so it's the best chest carry back up.
Mybankerbob 3 weeks ago
@Mybankerbob Thank you for your service. I am the proud owner of 2 Sigs, I have a P226 chambered in .40 S&W and the SigPro SP2022 chambered in 9mm. His chest carry: SW 1917 and he kept a RR,one in the camber, belt side at all times. He taught me the shoot. I think we went to the range before I had a bike to ride. He also told me to go Navy and..to shoot first, explain later...cause you are alive to do so. Both were good advice.

@Mybankerbob Sir:

4everUSNavy 1 month ago
@4everUSNavy I would much rather have an AK than an AR.
Keichwoud357 1 month ago
@4everUSNavy I can run over 1000 rounds through my M&P 15 at the range without cleaning it and it runs flawlessly...I had a Colt AR15 that was just as reliable. I see guys at the range having trouble with their AKs all the time. There is a vid here on YT where a guy buries an AR and an AK in the dirt and sand and then picks them both up, shakes them off and attempts to fire them...the AR emptied the mag every time and the AK jammed every time. Check it out.
STALKERSsuck10 1 month ago
@Keichwoud357 Ak is a good weapon, considering it was fielded before the M16. granted it looks like the "wing mans prom date" its also the same system that went into the dragunov, AK 74, and the Saiga 12. Of course the AR platform has gotten better, but still a long way from its original "The gun that never needs cleaning" statement
Caincard 1 month ago
@Caincard I definitely prefer the AK.
Keichwoud357 1 month ago
@Keichwoud357 AKs are junk. I see them malfunctioning much more often at the range than ARs. Plus they are not even close to being as accurate as an AR. The barrel flexes on an AK as it fires, making it much less accurate. Dont believe the hype, the AR is the better weapon by far. Ask any expert or war vet and they will tell you to go with an AR. AKs are used so frequently around the world for one reason...and that is because it is cheaper to obtain. Ak is not as reliable as AR.

@TheFargoh Im making these comments because how can someone diss such a wonderful weapon? the 1911 is over 100 years old and still puts people to eternal rest. the 9mm is OKAY but for a man stopping weapon id prefer the .45 over the 9mil just because you only need one to the chest to put them to bed the 9mm is more of a speed round
mw3L3GITSniper 3 weeks ago
@mw3L3GITSniper The military uses 9mm rounds because they trust them to put down anyone running their way, it's also the choice of police officers, competition shooters, small game hunters, and other gun enthusiasts.
You can't judge someone on what bullet they shoot, that's ludicrous.
