@RomanceSODMG If you cannot open it right click it and open file location then rename the file to have ".exe at the end

@Richardnetor i fixed mine i just went to my modem settings and turned on DMZ plus mode or something like that and then uninstalled and reinstalled both server and client and then restarted my comp and then set up the server again and when the cmd says its ready i then turn on the client and type in my info by going to the cmd and typing ipconfig and using the defult gateway as my ip and then it worked if you have questions ask me all see what i can do

@Richardnetor i dont know your modem but just keep looking for the firewall settings and either turn it off or turn on DMZ plus mode just keep looking theirs got to be a way to do it if you cant find it search google for how to do it and if you still cant find anything i could like find it or somthing and give you the link to the info and if you still cant find it we shall see

@mahmoudlez i was investigation but theres no DMZ plus mode on Thomson since it blocks the incoming connection without asking and all prefer the 2wire modem, and i cant investigate more since i have a LOT of homework from school... and theres no free time -.- for more investigation

After setting up the server, and u wanna let someone in also, u give the exact info u put to put up the server? Ip, port etc.

Also if u disconnect, can someone still get in the server when u are not putting the server up? (considering no portfowarding, and anything else, completely new)

Do u have to portfoward? And what happens if don't?

I made the vent server logged in the the regular password. and made all of these channels and stuff. Then when I created my password and made ranks then saved it then when i disconnected and tried to reconnect it said password was wrong. So i tried changed the server password to my password(the one only for me) And when i did go back in all of the channels were gone. When I tried to recreate them it said theywere already there. But I cant see them?

this is what i did and it worked like a charm

go to C:\Program Files\VentSrv

that is where my ventrilo was installed

now you open up the .exe file and it should connect

sadly, if you X out that .exe window, you will disconnect
