I'm a beginner.. I have a cheap pearl 5 piece, but nice Paiste 2002 cymbals. Am I an elitist? no. Perfectionist? maybe a little.

But I worked hard for the money to spend on nice cymbals, and while right now I put a shame to their sound, I'm working on it.

This video is great, I'm definitely going to have to try this beat out.

I like the fact that your drum kit looks like it is played rather than talked about. Don't let the negativists get to you...I have built my kit from used 80's and 90's vintage Yamaha stage customs (single lug body) that I find on e-bay and music shops, and my cymbals are a combination of Paiste Rudes and no-name krest and wuhans that I just happen to like the sound of.

here's a challenge for you, and it might sound ok, i've yet to try it myself :D

for every time you hit the high tom and middle tom, swap them round, so that your not "walking" across your kit but its crossing over. will be a challenge once it gets up to speed
