  • hey dude pls help me out!

i got no color in my videos... its black and white??!

    how do i fix that??

  • hey man where else can u buy this besides cercet city ?

    u know ????

  • @itsjohnnyt Hmm, didn't see your comment until now. I think...

I have seen the same movieBox capture devices at Best Buy.

  • @TheAssailant6661 I just bought one at best buy...

  • @itsjohnnyt i bought mines at best buy

  • @itsjohnnyt bestbuy

  • lol "im a ******* GENIUS" love that

  • i have to get this one cause it has the outputs and my dazzle dvd recorder is fucking killing me

  • hey. its me again. thanks for all ur help i found a way to do it without a laptop. but i cant figure out how to start capture? which form do u have to pick: video disc, data disc, or dvd??? i cant figure out which one has my capture card?!

  • Are you sure you're using Pinnacle Studio and the movieBox Ultimate? Because none of those have anything to do with capture devices.

  • do you have to be next to ur computer to record with this cuz i heard u dont have to have a laptop really

  • If you're not using a computer, how are you going to record? You need a computer to do that. The capture device just passed the signal along to the computer.

  • well cant u use a like usb memory drive cant u record and then plug that in to a comp. cuz my comp isnt near my xbox or is there some sort of extension i can run long enough to get to my comp???

  • Nope, has to be connected to computer. I wouldn't trust USB extensions, they might not be able to handle the large bandwidth from the capture device. If you have a small TV you can move around, set it up next to your computer for the purpose of recording, or get a laptop powerful enough to do the job instead of a desktop PC (basically, if it's marketed as a gaming laptop, it'll work fine, and look, now you have a gaming laptop too).

  • lol. thats true but idk if i can convince my mom to get me a laptop as well as the recorder and pay half for my new tv i want. even if its fuckin christmas...

  • Save up your lunch money, xmas money and birthday money, it's what I did to get a good PC and a capture device.

  • yaa. i think ill wait til my bday to get my tv. its in january so its all good. i can convince her to get me a lappy and a cappy for xmas

  • whoa a green screen i need to get this

  • so getting that

  • K. Thanks.

  • What kind of computer do you have? I have the MovieBox Ultimate, and installed everything on my Dell Studio 1735. My captures freeze at random times. At first, I thought it was the MovieBox, but then I exchanged for another one, and it still occurs.

  • I built my own PC with a good dual-core processor and a crappy graphics card.

  • Well, what's the name of that Google Gadget you got?

  • It's a Vista Sidebar gadget that I got looking up Network Meter in the Sidebar section of the Microsoft site.

  • Wow, I didn't even know I had Vista Sidebar on my laptop. Thanks for the info. Now, just a minor question. If you install a gadget for Vista Sidebar (I just installed the meter in your video), would removing it from the sidebar uninstall it, or is there a folder I have to delete it from, like Google Gadgets? Just curious.

  • Yeah, you'd have to delete it from a folder (remember to say yes when UAC asks you). I have both the CPU Meter and Network Meter. You might've meant the CPU meter lol.

  • What exactly is the name of the folder?

  • If you go into your Sidebar, click on the + where it says Add Gadget. IF you right click on a gadget, you should be able to uninstall it. I don't know if this will work 100% because UAC does stupid things but it should. Let me know.

  • its for MAC??

  • No, but there are Mac capture devices on the Pinnacle site.

  • I was thinking, for some time already, to buy one of these Pinnacle-MovieBox....but now, I think it's better go for a BlitzBox HD or something similar... with component...

  • Yeah, I suggest that if it has component input. This way you can do HD video uploads to YouTube.

  • is there something similar to this but that accept HDMI ?

  • Not that I know of.

  • true...I don't know well...I don't used to work with videos but, I think it's cause the DRM...what I recently learned.

  • Nah, it doesn't makie sense if it was DRM. It's probably just how it outputs the singal back to the TV as the footage stored on the computer is crystal clear.

  • i hav ultimate and i use it for my 360 and on my tv its really burry anyway i can fix it?

  • Yeah, it tends to be blurry on the screen. I have a Wii and an SD TV so it's not as much as a problem for me as it is on an HDTV, but you'll just have to deal with it. Think of it as tons of motion blur and anti-aliasing ;)

  • How is it in hd if the output is sd (s-video, composite)? Wouldn't it be encoded as a high res sd file?

  • By HD, I meant if you get another source, like footage from FRAPS of a PC game, you can do HD for Youtube.

  • I got the Dazzle Plus with Pinnicle Studios. But my cpu cant take the studio. im still working on getting it all hooked up

  • Whats the best setting for HQ, so I can post my vids on youtube?

  • best setting would be AVI Custom, 848x480 at 100% quality.

For HD, use AVI 1080p, youtube will scale it back by itself to 720p.

  • Y wont it let put 848x480? and is there anymore settings without lag that make hq lookin vids.

  • So even if my TV doesn't have the Output jacks I can still record?

  • Your TV doesn't need output jacks to begin with.

  • But in DigitalPh33r's Guide to Making Halo 3 Machinima, it said some capture devices need your TV to have output jacks, so I was just wondering if this needed those. Anyway, so should I get the regular moviebox or is it the ultimate worth the extra 50 dollars?

  • Ultimate is worth it. You get some extras in Studio, it has Output so yout TV doesn't need any, and I believe only the ultimate has a greenscreen.

  • Ok, thanks.

  • where did u get your s video to component cable.... i need one and cant find it

  • My S-Video to Component cable is for laptops and graphics cards to output to TV. There's extra pins that won't fit on the Pinnacle Studio mvieBox Ultimate.

  • where did u get it tho

  • It came with my graphics card.

  • ohhhhh man i need one of those

  • does that pinnacle have the needed cables to record?

  • Be more specific. Which cables?

  • u know the cables that they need to be plugged in the TV and then in the pinnacle u know Audi L Audio R ......

  • Ah, those. No, those are Male-to-Male composite connectors that I cannibalized off of my DVD player. They shouldn't cost you more than 8 bucks at RadioShack. Just ask for a 2 or 3-foot composite cable with video and stereo audio.

Everything you saw come out of the box is all that's in the box.

  • hey for sum reason i connected my wii the same way you did, but it comes out green wen it shows it on the computer, its very complicated to explain but i conected it the same wit n u can see the top part of ur tv screen on ur comp but then the rest is green

  • Make sure you install the drivers correctly. Try patching Pinnacle Studio too and getting the driver from the Pinnacle website (outube wont let me post links so just google pinnaclesys)

  • wait, GREENSCREEN!?!?

THAT IS AWESOME, NO WONDER ITS SO EXPENSIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

youve got to tell me where i can get this, my birthday is tommorow, and this thing will be awesome for a present

    PLZ RESPOND QUICKLY

  • Got mine at Circuit City..... so I guess Best Buy might have them, just check online before ging to the store.

  • can i get this at Target or Wal-Mart?

  • I'd say look and see if it's on their site. Then see if they have a way to let you knw if they'd have it in-store, or you can call.

  • is this better than a dazzle?

  • Of course it's better than a dazzle. Dazzles are more of an entry type device. The movieBox Ultimate has more features such as Pinnacle Studio Plus and A/V-out ports along with the typical USB-out.

  • This may pose a stupid question, but does this capture in 16:9 widescreen?

  • Oh cool, it does.

  • i have the same one but mine didnt come with 3 cds it only came with 2

  • What version of Studio is it?

  • yea i got this. it owns. i need to get my 360 fixed though!

  • How do u improve the quality on ur tv during gameplay?

  • Have you tried it with other games like Burnout? CoD:WAW isn't exactly a bright game, so try to increase the brightness in the capture window (There's a button with a video camera icon). You can aso adjust brightness after capturing in the Edit window.

  • HEY DUDE. i just got a Dazzel capture card. and i wanna know how to get the video in full wide screen. like what setting do i need to do ?? thanks dude

  • At the capture screen in Pinnacle Studio, there is a button for Settings. Go to the very first tab of the settings from the left and there's an option for 4:3 and 16:9. Traditional widescreen is 16:9.

  • thanks man.

  • your pretty lucky because i'm getting one for Easter 2009

  • i tried plugging my stuff into the tv ans cap, and when i press capture it says no valid input signal has been detected, what do I do???

  • Try plugging in everything and turning on your console (I assume you're using it for a console but you get the point) before opening Pinnacle Studio.

  • this thing is so confusing, i hate it, but I want it to work so badly

  • Also, make sure you inputs are on the right side of the device. The side with the USB cable is all video output, the other side is video input.

  • So I have to get the other pinacle

  • Hey I got a pinnacle and its output doesnt have the Yellow and a white plug

  • You probably got the movieBox Plus. Only the movieBox Ultimate has AV video out.

  • i have a question. the capture device has rca inputs on both sides of the device when the moviebox plus only has them on one side which i think doesnt make a difference, or does it? and you hve two rca cables in the device, where do they lead to? do you have one end going to the video in and then you wii connected to the actual device. i am looking to purchase this and i am trying to find out which version of the moviebox i need so an answer would be great. thanks again.

  • the side with the Wii plugged in is the video in. The opposite side with the USB cable is the video out. Since the movieBox Ultimate can output to both the computer and TV, it's what I bought. Also, capturing can have a delay between 1 second to 2 seconds which is crutial when playing games like Brawl or FPS.

  • questions:

will it work on windows vista 64 bit??laptop

I believe the software that comes with it is version 11....can I upgrade to version 12 without having to pay???

  • Yes, it works on Vista 64, it's the OS I use.

Yes it comes with 11, I'm sure all you need to do to upgrade is pay a small fee, usually cheaper than buying it new without already having Studio 11.

  • yes its actually version 12 and it will run but pretty slow if you dont have enough memory

  • Can Pinnacle Studio Ultimate 12 do multilayered videos/photos? like having a photo overlapping a video?

  • Yes, there are two ways to do it. The first way is faster but is less neat as video can show through from the sides.

    1. Put the photo on the overlay track.

    2. Lock the audio on the video and clip out the section of unwanted video. Replace with the picture and then unlock the audio.

I used #2 in my "Assie's Weekly Update" video for the leaked Kid Icarus models.

  • yea... im a fucking genious, udue that wus funny, good vid 5 outof 5

  • ok thanks.

  • does this work for ps2? plz reply?

  • It works on any console with a composite cable.

  • Hey dude. Thanks for the unboxing. Sorry but I cant hear you well so, I have 2 Questions: 1. What is it the Green thing that is included with the Pinnacle device? 2. With this device, can I use my monitor as a Screen TV to Play Games or See Movies???

  • 1. A green screen

    2. The purpose of the device is to capture video for use in reviews and such. It's not supposed to be used to actually play them regularly.

  • Tripods are for pussies! :D

  • lol yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • thank god im not the only one!!!!!!!! tripods are for pussies!

  • I have a question. I have the same capture device you got. How did you hook yours up and get your wii image to show on your tv screen? i could not get anything on my tv screen. please help

  • You have to find a double male Composite cable that goes from the output, to the TV's input.

  • i got another question.after i hook up my moviebox device it shows the picture on my tv screen but there is no picture showing on the software. that Pinnacle Studio 12. how did you get yours to show up?

  • If you plug the device in after going to capture, or if you don't have video going on when you go to Capture, switch to edit, and then switch back to Capture.

  • Why the fuck is it out of sync at the end? DAMN YOU PINNACLE STUDIO!!!!!

  • I Have one also I Love it!

  • Cashier # 372864 is now on the internets!
