@Hammondmustard I still don't have one. If I need that sound in one of my tracks I use the "Ham and Eggs" sound off a yamaha DX7. It's good but clearly not the same!
I'm actually trying to find out what model Ray Manzerek (The Doors) used. There's no better Hammond player than Ray (personal opinion) and I'd like to add one to my keyboard collection.
@daveparry yes it has choice of a twin tube or single, for different types of overdrive. But they are real tubes not simulated. The Leslie is a simulator called a Neo ventilator. I think they have got it perfect you can set the Miking distance etc. There is tube simulation on that too but I keep that turned down to 0 so as not to double up. I use the built in reverb on the XK3 also.
I'm sure you will get loads of pleasure from the two-manual set-up. I know that you are used to a full organ, having had the KeyB and the C1 and others, but having bought a C1 myself I remember what I had been missing. Look forward to hearing more from this site. All the best, Keith
@rotosphere2000 Thanks , It wouldn't have probably been possible if you hadn't sold me the XK3 as I wouldn't have been able to afford the price of a new one.
I have only managed to scrape enough money to buy the lower keyboard for it by
selling some of my other keyboards etc. new videos on the way featuring that so watch this space! best wishes, Jason
@Thedaanvo Thanks once again Daanvo, pleased you like the sounds. Yes The Roland Cr8000 is a great machine, I bought it recently from Ebay but it wasn't cheep. This kind of retro gear fetches good money nowadays.
I do still have the sampler which is connected directly to my new Orla organ
I didn't need seperate keyboards anymore so I sold the single keyboard Orla.
I have installed some of the Beta samples, I will upload some videos
soon when I can tear myself away from the Hammond.
are you playing the bassline with your feet?
vibronicz 5 months ago
@vibronicz yes, I use the Hammond XPK200 which is a 20 note midi pedalboard.
I always prefer to play my own bass.
Best wishes

@CiaranPaulRoche Sorry about that, I hope you manage to get a CR8000 soon.
The Hammond is a great sound.

@CiaranPaulRoche The Doors were famous for using a Vox continental but they may have used a Hammond at times.
The Yamaha is a classic synth in its own right !

Great to hear this tune Jason, the XK3 sound's very like the tone wheel organs, does it have a tube simulator as well?

Really nice, Jason! That rhythm machine looks quite special to me.
Do you still have the keyboard with the wersi/hammond samples?

@cheshire1uk Thanks I appreciate your compliments,
I recently bought the Rhythm unit. Its a Roland CR8000 Compu Rhythm
from the 80s. I find it fun to play along to. I have not discarded the Rhythms on my Iphone though.
