@crowthebest Its true. Ive been watching your video like from 1 year before now and it is youtube´s fault. The song didnt skip when i first watched it. Great video.
@crowthebest well , instead of that you could upload a full version and you could place a pop up youtube square at the begining of the vid redirecting to the other video , it's an idea that could probably work...
"In Old Yellowcake utilizes imagery of the destruction of Fallujah." Yellowcake refers to the Yellowcake forgery, documents that falsely showed Saddam was buying materials for WMDs from Niger. These documents rallied the US into war. Such a terribly sad song.
I just saw them for the first time opening for Gary Numan in Philadelphia. I never heard them before and I fell in love with them instantly. How could I not?
Oh Perilous World is a masterpiece of progressive music. This is Rasputina at their creative and musical best. The line-up for this album and tour was their best...the wonderful Sarah Bowman and the eclectic Jonathan TeBeest. They are both no longer with Melora. Sarah is now paired with her twin sister playing guitar and doing uninspiring "indie" pop music in NYC. Jonathan is lost in MN. Sarah and Jonathan will never again reach the underground heights they enjoyed with Rasputina.

This is a true steampunk band...bringing the old to the new world, seperated by time and brought back and made unique. I hope u can be good in cello just as these guys ::D I feel this music
I love Rasputina so much. This is one of the classic tracks -- if only they were more well known. It'd be destined for inescapable classic status. It'd be cool if when I'm 40 years old they played this on the oldie station so I could tell kids "See? Our music rocked. Music today sucks!"
Me and my buddy used to listen to these gals like 10 years ago. Theres just somethin about their style thats so fuckin cool. i guess cuz their style which draws only weirdos such as myself.
i'd seen this band live in 2006 when i went to see a concert of less claypool down in chicago, when me and my friends were waiting out in line we saw this tall weird looking guy coming out of a van. At the moment i didn't know who he was...
it was a mistery till the show started...i saw 2 pretty girls with classical instruments and that dude was there too, they started to play they heart out and there was a moment when the blonde girl and i looked at each other and smiled...i fell in love!
If you get more familiar with it classical is where you will find most solo music for cello or other instruments and often times modern composers it will be hard to find modern cello solo music unless you know where to look start with Bach that will be the easiest to find
Yo Yo Ma's performance of the Prelude from Bach's Cello Suite is fantastic! Also look up Yo Yo Ma's performance of the Elgar Cello Concerto which is also great! Cello is a great instrument!
I don't know...yellowcake is indeed the old word for a type of uranium, but then in the song there is "ice factory" and then "flour factory"...increasing my confusion thricefold
They're metaphores for how uranium reacts and the effects of a uranium bomb. In addition to the song is filled with symbolism regarding politics and society concerning the uranium issue. Its not really about an ice factory or a flour factory, or even an abandoned/haunted township.
i was wondering well ive always loved classical music i play classical guitar and i was wondering ??whats a gud cello and how much duz it cost??like brands of gud cellos and prices
really and truthfully, thats ur opinion. all i can say is, that there expensive. best thing to do, get a full sized cello because they have a deeper resonate (sp?) sound. though, since uve played guitar, shifting won't be that hard for you. my cello has gone through my eldest bro for a couple of years, the middle child for a year, and ive had it for about 3-4 years. its still in good condition. its really just how well you take care of it

pretty sure it's "yellowcake" not "yellow cake."
yellowcake is processed uranium powder, smelted to make nuclear reactors and bombs.
the lyrics "when all the souls in a city go drowning by starlight" sounds pretty indicative of a nuclear bomb, not a dessert
