I have an 02 Mustang, would have no shame in loosing to a GNX cuz i would know that outcome before i even hit the accelerator. Buick GNX is not a car, its a LEGEND :)

GNX and the Grand nationals only came is black . all the other turbo regals were in different colors and t-types were slightly faster than the grand national due to the aluminum brakes vs gn cast iron which is no big deal .86 and 87 has an intercooler 84 and 85 dont they are air cooled and the grilles are different and the dash are different as well as the wheels .The Gnx is the holy grail of turbo regals.

Buick built over 27,000 turbo Regals in 1987 to meet the demand of people wanting them. They were basically a Regal with a awesome drive train. People will tell you that they were different but not really. The GNX did have some major changes but they were the same car. I restore GN's from the frame up.

GNX, GN and T-Type Regals are the exact same cars w/ a few changes. They all had the LC2 engine, 200-R4 transmission and a 3.42:1 rear end. The T-Types came in all different colors and interiors. The GN was black w/ black and grey interior. The GNX was a GN upgraded by ASC McLaren on the transmission, suspension, turbo, intercooler, trans cooler, wheels, cluster gauges, outer apearance and only 547 built. The GNX added 31HP to the GN package ($10,000 extra) according to GM.

correction, GNX Buicks are better tuned special edtion cars. They only came in black.

actually Buick put turbos on the Regals starting in 1978, 87 was the final year.

At the time the LC2 engine was far superior to anything Ford had. As far as Grandma's car, the Grand National was shaper looking than any queer ass mustang. And yeah, people went crazy and still are going crazy and that appears to drive certain people crazy.

Might be a Buick but it still rides smooth, gets good mpg and yet 22 years later can still blow the doors off of almost anything out there, with the a/c on. Not many street cars can run 10's in the 1/4 and still have decent street manners while riding in style and luxury but the turbo Buick Regal can.

They made VERY few Buick GNXs. They made quite a few GNs and Regal turbos.

Yes but only 1547 T-Types were made in 1987. Really the rarity varies with the year.

yeah one of my friends had(stolen) a regal turbo-t and his dad had a GN, and the gn was about 1/2 a sec faster then the turbo-t

The GN had other mods (better tranny, rear end, etc) that made it faster. IN all reality, the only year of GN that was any good was the 1987 one. All other years were ok, and somewhat good, but by no means fast at all. They just got the formula right in 1987 I guess...lol

There is virtually no difference between the 86 and 87 model year. Both had the LC2 engine and only 10 ponies separated them.

Between 86 and 87, the grill and interior door strap caps were different, that was it in terms of superficial appearance. I have an 86. Both 86 and 87 had an intercooled turbo.

84 and 85 had didn't have an intercooler and had different rims than 86 and 87 as well as other differences.

Yep, looks like handicapped racing, 'stang got the go, the GNX did fly past him aftet the camera turned, it's pretty clear even after they are well past the camera.

The 'stang MIGHT have won because it was handicap racing (slower car gets head start) but the Buick is the faster car.

the grand national won beacause mustang had a head start and then the grand national flew right past the mustang. you can see it in the video. mustang did not beat the GN.
