  • So if you admit it's sung by Johnny Mercer and Margaret Whiting, why did you list it as Bing @ Doris??? that's just DUMB!

  • Bing Crosby was the best person ever. When he died, I was simply H-E-A-R-T-B-R-O-K-E-N!

  • dam cold outside

  • so why do you perpetuate the lie???

  • mafia 2 brought me here¬¬¬¬¬¬¬

  • Doris Day always makes me smile, and makes me feel like a lady myself! Some people just look and sound like everything that is right with the world lol It sounds odd to say something like this, but it's a fact. I was an archaeologist for the most part of my life, and whereas I like my field boots, and the rest of my out and in the wild gear, there is nothing like looking at Doris Day once in a while and reminding myself that I am , after all, a woman, and a lady too :)

  • wonderful song, but what a shame the sound's ripped so poorly, my ears could hardly stand the whole track.. :'(

  • i love this song reminds me of my parents

  • Esther Williams and Ricardo Montalban and Red Skelton and Betty Garrett both sang this song in "Neptune's Daughter", original recording artists were Mercer and Whiting, but Bing Crosby did sing it with Doris Day on her "Doris Day Christmas"album 1969

  • this is one of the most beautiful song in the whole universe :)

  • ....my memory brought me here.....I had this song stuck in my head and i needed to hear it.

  • i can't believe its not Bing Crosby and Doris Day. I grew up believing it was. My mom even said it was.

  • Creepy/Sexy Yesssssssss! Love it!

  • Feminists rate this song as "The creepiest and most Sexist Christmas Song" of all time, wow. See here:-

    watch?v=GpDnr2s9yxQ#t=154s

This is a beautiful and sweet song that has brought joy and wonderful memories to uncountable numbers. So glad feminists don't run Xmas.

  • @MikePinkerman - I see *one* feminist there, and not a very bright one. (For example, being creeped out by the idea that the Santa in "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" is actually her husband is childish.) Where do you get "feminists" from that?

  • @OldDunc Go to my link and see the "Feminist" interpretation of this video and other Xmas classics.

  • @MikePinkerman -- I followed the link the first time: I saw one feminist. You wrote "feminists." Feminists often disagree with each other, so I see no reason to assume that they would agree with her.

Calling the song "a Christmas classic" -- it actually has nothing to do with Christmas, but yes, it has become associated with the season -- doesn't settle anything either. A lot of classics are sexist, racist, and/or creepy.

  • @OldDunc Don't see much '"Feminist" distention on that page my friend. In fact I see a whole lot of agreement. Your argument could be used to erase any noxious feminist view you wanted from the record.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG TOO MUCH!!

  • I love the way BING CROSBY sings

  • 1940's version of Afternoon Delight

  • The Best version!!!

  • Not as advertised, but an excellent duet.

  • Anybody who has truly heard Doris Day sing knows its not her

  • Buddy the Elf brought me lol love this song they don't make em like that no more that's for sure!!!!!!

  • It's Rosemary Clooney and Bing

  • not doris day and bing.

  • Fallout and Christmas brought me here.

  • remember when she just wanted to go home to her friends and family but he wouldnt let her leave? lol

  • autotune had made many musicians dependent, and even today ppl trying to sing these songs can't.

  • One of the classics for me and SNL brought me here, years ago

  • glee brought me here :D

  • @TwilightFanSarah91 Unfortunately, throughout the years, This has brought us to Glee....

  • @throwerfan22 well, nothing´s better than the original one but I like the Glee version :)

  • @TwilightFanSarah91 -- But then, this isn't the original version either.

  • this is margaret whiting and johnny mercer singing! not bing and doris.

  • @ujohn yeah it says that in the info under the vid

  • I wish music was like this now !!

  • @pawsjones - It is. You're listening to it now. There is still music like this being made (*cough* Glee recorded it *cough*).

  • Elf brought me here!

  • @PhaeryGirl lol me too

  • Mafia brought me here!

  • my favorite part in elf is when will ferrel sings this song

  • Does he try to date rape her?

    "Hey, what's in this drink?!"

    Oh, Bing, you gentleman. =3

  • Bing does the best verson of this song. It isn't christmas until you hear him sing!

  • @lerouxgirl Haha true

  • It's amazing that Doris Day is still on this great earth today on 12/21/11...THANK YOU DORIS FOR ALL THE PLEASURE THAT YOU HAVE BROUGHT TO MY LIFE !

  • I love this song!!! I swear I was born in the wrong era!!!

  • this are not the singers, it even says it next to the description

  • Beautiful song but that is not Doris Day singing....of this I'm sure!

  • best version, FUCK GLEE!

  • @fozmubi wow, your an angry person! LOL!

  • ''If you caught pneumonia and diee'' lol..

  • Love this song..... Makes me want to snuggel with my man

  • Where did this America go? Love it..

  • @guernica62 We could expect talent when we knew what it was.

  • @guernica62 This statement is one of the easiest ways to identify a straight white person on the internet : P

  • I think Johnny Mercer is a god and both artists deliver a masterful performance -- but isn't each one seriously flat at some point?

  • This is Margaret Whiting and Johnny Mercer .. not Bing Crosby and Doris Day. You've probably had that commented already, but .. yeah.

  • @ElizabethAshleigh3 It says that right in the description

  • i like ella fiztgerald's version better (dont judge me i spelled her name wrong

  • Mafia 2 anyone? Great song

  • REMINDS ME OF MARGO

  • This is the best version!

  • The other popular version you hear out there of "Baby, It's Cold Outside," is actually Doris Day and crooner Buddy Clark. He more or less (wasn't a Bing copier) but sounded enough like Bing to fool the casual observer. Check some of his other work on YouTube--he also teamed with Dinah Shore on several songs, but was best known for his collaboration with Doris. He tragically died in a freak plane crash on Wilshire Blvd. in L.A., after flying to the 1949 Rose Bowl. Great Singer who idolized Bing.

  • @BigBingFan

Sorry, I was thinking Dinah while I typed Doris. Buddy Clark's version of "Baby, It's Cold Outside," is a duet with Dinah Shore, not Doris Day. Just FYI. Check that version--very good. I'd like to hear the comments and comparisons.

  • why can't people stop comparing artists and just listen and enjoy the music? ;)

  • i consent date rape just by playing this song :)

  • Could not possibly be Bing he was at home beating his children.

  • Back in the days when men pressed for intimacy and women resisted. Those days are so long gone, that most young people today have no concept of this kind of morality.

  • Sounds nothing like Bing and Doris. Clearly Johnny Mercer and his wife.

  • Love it

  • This is my favourite version of this song :)

Now Zooey D & Michael Buble need a cover !

  • @kiikat michael buble needs to go away to the land of soulless dopes where he can battle Kenny G for kingship. Now...Zooey and Harry Connick, Jr. would be a different story.

  • @iamkarlmeyer you know nothing. Learn good music.

  • @PurpleRose34568 I know all sorts of things, one of which is that Michael Buble is the biggest Harry Connick, Jr. wannabe to walk the earth. I've heard more "good music" in my life than you could shake your list of shitty soulless lounge singers at. Don't hate because you think Michael Buble is anything other than a barfly lounge act that'll put his face on anything at your local Target to make a buck.

  • If interpreted in a certain way, this song is a bit rapey...

  • Why isn't there more people listening to this music now? Can't we just throw out 50 cent, kanyae west, and Justin Beiber and just put in Bing Crosby, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra? Why not?

  • @MrBobshadow and Tennessee Ernie Ford. :)

  • I often dislike covers but Zooey Deschanel sings it much much better. :) She's divine.

  • Perfect!!!

  • Back when people had class!

  • @califgirl11

Listen to the Lady Antibellum version and then claim that people have no class today. You are living in a fantasy past that never existed.

  • @fozmubi I just listened to the lady antibellum version and with all due respect it isnt that sinatra martin crosby thing that makes you want to order a martini light a ciggerette and fantasize and escape and isnt that some times what art is all about

  • @DREWKAREOKE

youre clueless dude. Like I said if you believe class & style only existed in the past youre living in a fastasy that never existed. Sinatra, Fitzgerald & Horne of course were awesome (Bing & Dean are too bland for my taste) But the Lady Antibellum version is as good as it gets, & frankly much better than the Williams/Montalban version from "Neptune's Daughter" in 1949.

also check out Bennett/Gaga do TLIAT. That gal may be a freak but she's a total jazz master! Wow!

  • @califgirl11 nah those sluts would flash their knees. So perverted.

  • @califgirl11 I love the music, but I honestly wouldn't so readily write off the progress we've as a society. I would have had bricks thrown at my head back then...with class!

  • @califgirl11 Honey, people didn't have that much class back then, they just knew how to cover up better than now!!! Whore!!!

  • @LalitaDeLaCruz Nope, people had class. Obviously you don't know much about it, though.

  • @LalitaDeLaCruz You are right, not everyone back then had class. Two people who surely had no class were your Mother and your Father. If they had, they would have taught you some manners. It is possible to express your opinion without calling people names.

  • please correct the title of this video with the correct performers....it's a big sin!

  • You smooth sweet talker Bing,LOL

  • Doris Day was sure a beauty! I remember her show well. Merry Christmas, everyone!

  • Whoever the heck sang this song it doesn't matter! This is a great song, even the 'say, what's in this drink?' part! True Classic Christmas song!

  • hear only one reference to cigarettes in this version . . . thanks.

  • This is the best version of the song, hands down!

  • Sorry, this is not Bing Crosby. It's Johnny Mercer and Margaret Whiting.

  • @jfreidog16 Yes. Read the description.

  • Bing was THE MAN. That dude could lay down with class. Best version.

  • diži se kujo!

  • It bothers me that this version isn't on the first page.

  • ;-)

  • How could someone who was so talented be such a terrible bastard to everyone ESPECIALLY his children. What a shame. Smh. But I do love this song<3

  • @4everadreamer96 he was just awful to his kids but damn what what a voice!

  • @mistresstele I know right! That man had quite a voice on him!

  • @mistresstele you don't know that he was 'just awful to his kids'. You didn't know him, did you? You are reacting to hearsay. That's what's awful. PLUS: it's not even him singing on this!!!

  • @PhoenixBird50 oh chill out! it's just a comment on youtube for craps sake.

  • Yep - Definitely not Doris or Bing!

  • Wait, you make the video with the title "Bing Crosby & Doris Day", then make the video with pictures of Bing Crosby and Doris Day, but then claim in the info that it's not Doris Day and Bing Crosby... I don't get it

  • @wtf101

I think that they realized it wasn't them after they made the video.

  • It's Johnny Mercer and Margaret Whiting...don't get why you don't correct this from Bing and Doris..

  • I come here by glee.

  • @TheDaleDenton Any problem? ;)

  • 7 people are cold

  • This is definatly not Doris Day or Bing Crosby!

  • @becky5008 you are so right.

  • I have to agree with the other critics. The titles of postings are a device for searching. If you say it is Doris Day and Bing Crosby, you are doing a disservice to everyone who wants to hear those two. The fact that you know it's Mercer and Whiting just makes your title worse. (Deliberate fraud is worse than ignorance.)

  • Who sang this? The original version? :))

  • Listening to this makes me think of Christmas in the middle of summer :D

  • i can listen to this anytime of the year

  • 5 people don't know MUSIC when they hear it

  • WOW!! I didn't know Johnny could sing!!! And yeah, it sucks that Doris and Bing didn't actually sing this song! Shiz, picture it though, wouldn't it be wonderful???

  • These old songs are soo shoop-da-whoop.. love it.

  • I miss here here ....but baby it wasn't , outsde !!!

  • Doris day was my ggrandma ai

  • At the very least, the poster should say who is in the video that she or he is posting. If you say Bing Crosby & Doris Day, that's whom we expect to hear. But you've posted two other singers, while retaining the posting. Why?

  • Correct about it being Johnny Mercer and Margaret Whiting. Doris Day sang this with Bob Hope.

  • i enjoyed this vid because i grew up watching their movies.. very talented people.. thanks for sharing the pics...

  • You are right that this is Johnny Mercer, but only after looking at numerous albums and shows of Bing and Doris and not being able to find them singing this song did I look for the album with Johnny and Margaret Whiting and listened to it and this one. I decided because of the very beginning of the song, - the instruments- it's the same. I want to thank the poster, however- I had never heard of the others, and wouldn't have found this-I was looking for Bing---Thank You So Much

  • "So what's in this drinK"

"No cabs to be had out there"

    Damn right!

  • This is rediculous!!! This is Johnny Mercer & Margaret Whiting!!! The poster is a moron and needs to correct this!!!

  • @stlgtrace Hi thanks for your comment. Please read the video write up that goes with this video. Happy New Year.

  • Haha. What a rude ass. Thank you for the upload and the correct information. You're on top of your stuff ;)

  • @stlgtrace got your panties all in a bunch hoping to diss someone, all the way down to your triple triple exclamation points!!! you could learn how to spell as well, who's the moron now?

  • @drmorb It's you that have your "panties all in a bunch" pal! If you can't give constructive criticism than please do us all a favor and keep your mouth shut!!!!!!!!!!

  • @stlgtrace Lol, you call that a comeback loser? Compared to your attempted insult, my comment is very constructive. You are clearly the moron here and you can't spell. Do us a favor? Who is us? I was pointing out what a fool you are, you are more than one person? You're just mad your such a dumbazz and failed quite hard trying to diss someone.

  • @drmorb Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me! Nah Nah Nah!!!

  • @stlgtrace You are right that this is Johnny Mercer, but only after looking at numerous albums and shows of Bing and Doris and not being able to find them singing this song did I look for the album with Johnny and Margaret Whiting and listened to it and this one. I decided because of the very beginning of the song, - the instruments- it's the same. I want to thank the poster, however- I had never heard of the others, and wouldn't have found this-I was looking for Bing---Thank You So Much

  • @stlgtrace I don't think this is Whiting and Mercer.. do a search for them singing this song, it's a different vesion. This version sounds like Martin and Day

  • @stlgtrace the poster knows it... it says it on the info under the vid

  • @stlgtrace If you cannot spell "ridiculous," you really shouldn't call anyone a moron.

  • @stlgtrace This song was resong by so many ppl but being a young Bing Crosby fan I would know his voice anywhere. It is. Tho i am not sure of who the girl is claimed to be but it really is Bing.

  • Johnny Mercer was a fair singer as well as a prolific songwriter.....thanks.

  • It is Johnny Mercer and Margaret Whiting!

  • ok people OBVIOUSLY... its oprah winfry and jack black singing i mean come on are you guys really that stupid and deaf?... (point is get over it, it sounds good who gives a flip)

  • How beautiful ... Doris Day (Doris Mary Ann von Kappelhoff from GERMANY) was the best - women don't get this way anymore!!! :-(

  • This is Johnny Mercer and Margaret Whiting...

  • Id rather have the glee version!

  • I like the Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney the best.

  • Comment removed

  • It's Johnny Mercer and Margaret Whiting... Fix your info Moonbeam

  • people... obviously its not bing crosby or doris day.... read the info he says that much in there and just stop dissing him lol... maybe a bit more suitable name for the video would behelpful though

  • @iwannacapo : It is Doris and Bing, Its just been edited so that it sounds like they actually did the duet.

  • @squidb8 Belay that. It isn't Bing.

  • @iwannacapo This is Dean Martin singing

  • This is not Bing. Geez...........

  • @jacksblack1 It's Dean Martin!!

  • I absolutely adore this song! Bing has such a good voice! I wish I was alive during his time he was such a fantastic entertainer!

  • @Brigidisthecooliest It's Dean Martin not Bing

  • @AARONREYES11 I don't think this version is dean he has another one that had a different female voice...I could be wrong tho. I'm pretty sure this isn't Bing or Dean but Johnny Mercer

  • More misinformation. You even put pics of the wrong people... Geez, what a dummy. .. it's Margaret Whiting and Johnny Mercer.

  • Timeless. Warm like a chestnut fire.
