That's really great! We are are all human LOL well maybe not Leo and some others I could mention. I wouldn't have been been able to use that take because instead of laughing at my mistake I would have used the "F" or some other bomb.LOL That aside your playing is wonderful.
@6thStringPlayer Hey 6th thanks for listening and for the nice comment. You know quite some time ago I decided to try and give up the whole perfectionist thing I impose on myself. Many times I'll post stuff that's full of mistakes and clams. Almost all of the time I can play the tune perfectly but the minute a camera is pointed at me I forget how to play.
i recently purcharsed the zoom h2 to record my acoustic guitar but i have a problem. the audio is way too quiet. when i listen to it on my zoom h2 is loud but i when i open the file on itunes i can barely hear it with my volume on full.
Don't be so hard on yourself! Good playing. Sounds great. I also have a Flip camcorder. How did you enhance the sound? (The Flip mic is not so sensitive). Dave
Thanks for taking a listen and for the positive comment. The audio is recorded separately on a ZOOM H2 handy recorder and mixed and syncronized with the video in Corel Video Studio Editing software.
Thanks for listening. Yes, the audio was captured to the H2 simultaneously to the video. The two files were then merged and synchronized together using Corel Video Studio.
This guitar is the Taylor Leo Kottke Signature Model 12 string. LKSM-12 for short. It has special bracing on the top to facilitate low tunings. My LKSM in the video is tuned down 4 half steps to
I like the slower tempo of this song. I have heard Leo play this a couple of times live and he played it slow to. The version on "Home and Away" is slower as well. On my channel I have a couple of other vids of this tune. One is on the 6 string. Thanks for the comments JM
Sounds good to me. Especially considering that this is such a hard piece to play. I am at this for month now on and off and still have trouble playing it clean. I always felt that Ojo is one of those landmark Kottke pieces that, once learned, brings a guitar player to another level.
I really like this one. By the way, what weight are your strings? And, are you in normal tuning stepped down?

Amazing sound quality! What settings did you use on the H2? And did you have to use a separate audio editing software to enhance it? thanks

Very nice! Just curious- did you record the audio to the Zoom, then add it to the video track with editing software? Impressive audio quality.
