  • Jazz Jackrabbit 2 is better!

  • amasing.. this game looks like it has ambient occlusion .. wonderful

  • This game so totally wants to be Mario64... What a shame.

And yes, it was better in 2D. =)

  • Man, this looks so much better than most of the 3d sequels to old 2d platformers. megeman legends anyone?

  • @ZombieToaster Megaman Legends was amazing.

  • @BlazeHedgehog If a game needs a lock-on function it means the controls are too shit to work without it.

  • @ZombieToaster You realize that includes The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, one of the most critically acclaimed games of all time? Most people would draw and quarter you for that opinion.

  • @BlazeHedgehog Yup, a nice game with shit controls.

  • NOOOOOO! WHERE IS SPAZ!?

  • i know where can you download game.why you dont want to tell anyone

  • @SpyroTheDragon96 This game was not officially released, it was illegally leaked to the internet. It's not illegal, as far as I know, to post video of it on the internet, but I'd rather not the comments section for my video become a source of piracy.

  • @BlazeHedgehog Its not piracy anymore since it never came out

  • jack rabbbit must be played in 2D if u wanna have fun

  • I wish the dev's would just start working on the game to be more high tech, and just sell it on the net like on steam .ect

  • Someone should hit up UnrealEd and finish this game.

  • is this one of those games where you can't play with a graphics card that's too good for it? i have an nVidia 120 GTM and can play crysis, but if i play this it lags to 1fps =(

  • looks like a cool game. better then bubsy 3D.

  • Sounds like Jazz hiccups when he lifts himself up.

  • I heard this game was going to be for the PS2.

  • 2d was better

  • Well, Jazz was the only game that didn't bring profit to its publisher, so that's probably the rason. :(

  • i disagree,

jazz jackrabbit 1 was cool just like sonic adventure 1

  • ...who even talks like that? Don't be a wiener, kid.

  • Me and my friends were sick of Jazz 2 , we where playing all the day , I beat it without dying once ( i did get hit)

  • i don't really like when 2D games go 3D.

i think only Mario really pulled it off. Sonic in 3D makes everything confusing but he does looks cooler in 3D

  • ummm duke nukem started in 2D

and dukenukem 3D was pretty big

and there have been others way b4 mario went 3D

  • Right on. Sonic wasn't meant to pass over to the 3D world. His love stays within the 2D world.

  • the graphic is kinda like super mario 64

  • God! I used to spend HOURS playing the first Jazz. This game looks like it would have been so cool, kinda reminds me of Conker's Bad Fur Day.

  • Haha! I used to play it all the time too... Until I got a computer that couldn't run old games.

This one reminds me of all the old N64 games.

  • jazz jackrabbit 2 is the best of them...

  • The game that almost was.

  • Sigh, I think Jazz Jackrabbit 1 was the first computer game I ever played. 1 was great and so was 2, but I'm sad that the series never lived on.

  • Maybe it's just as well, Jazz 2 was a great game to go out on.

  • I don't know what they are complaining about this game RULES

  • Jazz Jackrabbit is Supposed to be 2D. Why make it 3D?

  • If you spent 2 minutes on goddamn Wikipedia, you'd know that this was Jazz Jackrabbit 3. Unfortunately, they couldn't find a publisher so it was never released. The pre-alpha version of the game got leaked onto the internet.

  • No Duhh! I'm Asking, Why not keep it a Classic 2D Platform Game. i knew it was jazz jackrabbit 3. i never said i didnt

  • yeah! Jazz JackRabbit was already good in 2D! In 3D is kinda confusing and boring... maibe this is the reason why they got no publishers to sell this game....

  • Yeah you right!

  • 2 bad Epic Megagames dident find a publisher for this game, maybe if the game was finished today we would have a Jazz Jackrabbit 4 or 5 game with great stuff...

  • Well yeah... It just seemed sad to me as I played Unreal and yet wanted JJ3 more then it. When I seen the features are so alike I really found it sad how they got so close and yet didn't want to finish the game. The demo just needs a few more maps and the other characters to be complete, but still they made unreal which from many points of view is kind of the same like JJ3.

  • A few more maps if maybe you wanted a game that only lasts you 45 minutes. :p Even in 1998/1999, games were 7-8+ hours long. Chances are if this was finished, you would've traveled to other planets like in the other Jazz games.

  • Yeah something like the older Jazz games is what I had in mind too. And a game to last as long as jj2's storyline did. The maps would probably need to be fully re-made if anyone would be to still continue this demo, but they can be done. If only the demo wasn't still under that license...

  • just a question: how do you get the game to run in full screen mode? cause it only works in a window on my pc.

  • I think it was always full screen mode for me. Try ALT+ENTER?

  • 3 worst ironies I noticed:

1 - The game navigation system is exactly the same one as in Unreal (running around and opening doors while shooting creatures, not to mention the music).

2 - The primary and alternative firing modes of the gun you start the game with are exactly the same ones as Unreal's dispersion pistol.

3 - The castle you see at minute 9:20 is actually a map used in Unreal, or almost exactly similar.

The 4th irony is that JJ3 wasn't finished while Unreal 1 was instead.

  • A lot of those aren't really ironic at all. A lot of Epic games back then, for example, employed the same composer (Alexander Brandon), and many games feature "running around and opening doors while shooting", not just Unreal. MegaMan X could charge his gun exactly like this before Jazz OR Unreal... etc.

  • Dude, You Clearly Don't Understand What Irony Is. Because None of those things are Ironic.

  • Pretty bad graphics, maybe they should have made Jazz 3 2D but with better graphics

  • You realize this was being made in, like, 1998, right? These were pretty good graphics for 1998.

  • Good point, but yet...

  • True though the graphics isn't all that matters. Look at today's games which have the most advanced 3D effects and rendering but horrible gameplay, storylines and features.

I do however admit that for the Unreal 1 engine they could have used much more detailed geometry for character models and maps alike.

  • The game was also unfinished. Chances are if the game saw release, 50% of what was in this beta would be completely different, probably more.

  • NOPE JAZZ 2 IS MUCH BETTER THAN 3

  • what buton for fire ???

  • The oddness is that the music playback in the game is so crappy compared with the real quality of the soundtracks...

I like all JJ-Soundtracks really much by the way!

  • Epic should make a new Jazz game next to Gears of War. It would be so awesome.

  • The reason why this doesnt work in 3d is the range involved. In the original 2d versions you had to time your jumps to blast turtles off platforms. Not much challenge in shooting a lamed animal from far away is there?

    Regardless thanks for showing this.

  • Eh, interesting but it just doesnt work in 3D...

  • I have this.Such a sahme it was cancelled.I was kinda disappointed that JJR3 had no end...

  • the final boss is easy to defeat it,just stay on top or on wall, jump and shot with normal cell rockets, after u defeated him, a rabbit will tell u that devan is disappeared into the gate,go into the gate and u will return at the basement of castle. here ends the adventure of jazz jackrabbit 3

  • JEZUZ KRAIZT!!!!

  • every true jazz gamer knows that jazz games should always be 2D =D

  • Yes, another Game like this here is ok, but not Jazz Jackrabbit!

  • @olegros right ! 3d suck cuz is not the same gameplay

  • i doubt that we will see a sequal on UE3 soon!

  • yeah

  • Naaaah, j,j,rbbt 2 was the best...

  • i agree...

  • still got it :P

  • is this a demo(5stars)

  • omg lol! its like a unreal tournament jazz jackrabbit xD yeah i noticed the music did sound similar to UT

  • its the same format...modtrack, impuslsetracker...

  • :( This should have been released.

  • Wow, that animation is pretty nasty looking. Loved the first game though - the best Sonic clone ever made.

  • Well, this IS an Alpha. :P It's very possible 90% of this would've changed or been polished, should this had ever become a full retail game.

  • um... i dont really get you... i heard that only 25% of the game is ready and now you're talking about 90%? i dont get it.

  • This is a "proof of concept" alpha. This is was made to prove the design document for the game exists and to give a brief example of what the game COULD be like. This is like looking at a game at one of the earliest stages in the development cycle. A LOT of what is in this alpha would no doubt change by the time the game would of eventually have been released.

  • oh ok, but the wierdest hing is: Epic Megagames have published the first Jazz and they were too lazy to publish this... its so stupid...

  • Lazy? Do you know how much that would've cost them? The original Jazz was an arguably small game that cost very little to publish. But something like this would've cost them ten times more. That's why they get publishing deals with folks like Atari and Midway nowadays so they can spend all their money on DEVELOPMENT, not publishing.

  • aaaah now i got that point... i wonder if they asked Nintendo, Sega or Bandai

  • I'm sad and pissed that this game was never released.. and that you HAVE this and are just not sharing it >_<.

Although your reasons are fair enough, you have no idea how much I've wanted to play this game since I heard it existed :(.

Meh.. have fun making my grief worse >_<.

  • Guilt trips are of no use on me. If you want it bad enough it's easy to find. Took me five minutes to find just now. It's not like it's rare, I just don't want people discussing potentially illegal content in my comments, and I delete them if I see them.

  • Fair enough, but still, I've been looking for some time, I had no real luck, and your description made out that it was pretty hard to find.

Eitherway, this is a good video.

  • Just google it.

  • Oh I've read ur info. It does use the Unreal engine...

  • Does it use the Unreal engine? The music is by Alexander Brandon. He wrote half of the soundtrack of Unreal 1

  • jeje. can ya imagine a JCT, for this? xD

  • snif... so nostalgic... im watching this right now... lets see if the fat queen appears xD

  • multiplayer would totally rock probably

  • I would've payed $50.00 for a full game like this.

  • That looks like a really easy game.

  • it isn't

  • I'm so sad this never got released :( But thanks for putting it on here :)

  • Oh, too bad this was never released, I remember playing the 1st one...
