@ritupm This is what Tulika Ghosh, daughter of Nikhil Ghosh and niece of Pannalal Ghosh has told me about SDB's voice, "The sonorous voice had a very enchanting ‘patti’ (a purposefully done break in voice especially in folk music or semi classical Thumris). Many have tried to copy that, but failed. Among the classical musicians it was Begum Akhtar and Ustad Barkat Ali Khan, the younger brother of Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan who had this beautiful element in their singing.
